On the home screen press options then turn WIDGETS offline, the widgets persists opening the wifi for updates so also turn off all ur widgets updates!

may be u have the GPD photo tagging enabled, and u dont have the GPRS activated or someshow its cant be connected etc.Kidnly disable the photo tagging via location and try

Qt apps are smoother and run on this device like a dream. Qt is also a very easy framework for developers to write apps with and with it being open source means that it is easily accessible to any software developer. What does that mean for ^3? Well simply put, all Nokia phones from here would use Qt. All software can be used across platforms (barring those that require higher cpu). All developers can create apps and make more money for various phones. Developers have already commited to this platform and some big names too. Soon you'd have a flood of apps that are available on other os's but now developers have a motiv to create one for ^3. Lastly, ^3 has been designed not to use high processing power to achieve fetes of other os's, it has been designed as a light os. One that just works with less power comsumption but gives you a device that can go the distance. Nokia do realise that phones need more than just hardware too and therefore are pushing Qt and developers to create a good, solid platform. They also believe that higher processing power is the wrong way os's are going. Lower cpu's would achieve the same performance levels. That said, i think they'd still go up to 800mhz but their platform is more stable and the work is being done now with the N8 to get this right. That is why the N8 uses a Cpu and Gpu. It works like a dream. Trust me. I hope that helps.

[deleted post]I am 100% sure you didn't have N8, or maybe what you purchase is a china made N8 immitation...hahahahhaa! poor boy. Another nokia hater, why don't you just shut up if you really don't experience the excellent quality of N8....i am a real "smartphone (a phone that can actually do anything)" user and very much satisfied with the N8. Very blurred photo using a Xenon flash & 12mp camera? hahahaha! only idiots will believe you.

And s60v5 is,i could say worst os among other(its one of reason why people change their nokia to others) yet s^3 is not a perfect os but an update is coming(hopefully)very soon. Trust me dear i've been using 5800(s60v5 family)and very disappoint with it. Thats my opinion,now decision is yours. :-)

priyanka, 01 Nov 2010no i talking about n97mini not n97.and one thing more dear,... moreThe n97 is better than the mini. And the n8 is much better than the n97. With the mini, you can add smaller screen, no fm transmitter and less internal storage to my previous list.

priyanka, 01 Nov 2010no i talking about n97mini not n97.and one thing more dear,... moreUSB On The Go or USBOTG is a tool to connect your thumb drive (aka flash drive/pen drive) or any Nokia phone or HDD (Through the HDD USB casing, if you have a normal HDD)(I somewhere read that you can connect upto 1.5 TB, if you put the power source different) or DVD RAM/ROM (different power source) or USB Mouse to your Nokia N8. It is a very useful thing if you want to connect your phone to other devices. You will get a micro USB to USB converter to do that. Connect the micro USB end to your N8 and the other side connect any of the above mentioned gadgets... and WOW... it is connected. If you connect a memory device (thumb drive/HDD/DVD RAM/Nokia Phones), the file manager will pop up and let you use the memory as if it was built in inside your device.

If you're interested in a qwerty keyboard which is probably the only reason that you'd choose the N97 over the N8, then i'd suggest you rather wait for the E7. BTW, typing on this phone is still a breeze so you shouldn't have problems either way and you also have swype to use which is even better and quicker than any hardware keyboard once you get used to it that is. I would still recommend the N8 any day over the N97. The symbian ^3 is going to be an ever evolving os and that would mean it would only get better from here on. N97 cannot.
