I am still waiting for my Nokia N8. It will be released in Bangladesh on November 11th, 2010 and will cost 37,500BDT. Only Dark Grey, Blue and Silver White or Orange will be available. I so want the Silver White one. I hope they'll bring that in Bangladesh. 10 more days to go! I can't wait to get my hands on the little devil. Till I get my phone, I'll have to wait. Those who got the phone are lucky b*st**ds. Keep rocking with your Nokia N8. Bye bye.

I had bought one nokia N8, it's an extraordinary phone..
Nokia learns fast and create something based on their users needs.. I like the way Nokia maintain their loyal worldwide customers.. the superb camera is the one that i'm very proud of it.. ordinary pocket digital camera will be very hard to compete with N8 in capturing good quality picture.. It's hardware is very good looking and it is made in solid structure.. I love It very very much!! well done NOKIA!

Anonymous, 01 Nov 2010Read your review on the N8. Just bought one myself a few da... moreYou are right in some ways. I learnt from my n86 that with nokia cameras, you do have to use the right settings to get the most out of it. But for me, with the n8, so far automatic and close-up are the only modes i need to use.
The battery life for me has been good. in one day, ive played about 3 hours worth of music via loudspeak, taken about 30 photos and a few videos, text about 20 times, browse throughout the day, and downloading apps. I go to bed still with 2 bars. But mind you, Im just used to charging every night. I still have to test how long it can go for with regular use. It should go 2 days

So far I realised the camera quality is quite dependent on the modes, eg: portrait, close up etc. But yeah, the flash is great and in the right modes pix are pretty solid. Is the hack for the video auto focus from hyperX worth using though? The battery life is quite bad though. I have to charge it everyday. (I text alot) Does that occur for you too?

I’ve been a nokia phone user since 2001. N97 was the last nokia smartphone I bought on December 2009. I was so disappointed with the OS stability, however I’m still using it as my secondary phone due to the fact that I really like the physical keyboard which was my deciding factor despite of bad reviews, but somehow it got a little bit of improvement after the updates. It’s good to read positive reviews about N8 compared to N97 before where 90% are really bad. Few people whose posting negative reviews on N8 are obviously hated Nokia as they keep on copy-pasting their comments that were written days ago. To be fair enough, I’m currently using iPhone 3GS as my primary phone. I underestimated it before until one time; I borrowed my cousin’s to use the web and guess what, I was impressed with the OS, web, UI(for a change) & speed, so after a month I renewed my contract and got the 16GB on Feb 2010. I’m using it for 8 months now and I have never experienced any lagging or freezing so far which feels good I don’t have to deal any issues with a phone. The downside though is that the customization of themes/tones, Bluetooth and other stuff common in Nokia phones are I myself misses it badly. And here’s the N8 came out with 12MP Xenon Flash, HDMI, capacitive, USB port, and other features that making me crave for right now! WTH Nokia!? You’re killing me! I’ll wait for few weeks before I decide… C7 & E7 are pretty good phones too in terms of design & features especially the E7 that has keyboard.

hey guys just wanna share some of my unbiased (something only 2% of people on here understand) thoughts on the phone after having it for a few days:
Can I first say that after reading copious amounts of information about this phone since April, I basically knew exactly what to expect after all the reviews and everything. Anyways here goes:
*The build quality of this thing is amazing. I have already dropped it after 4 days being a clumsy person and it didn't even leave a scratch (it wasn't much of a fall but plastic still would have scratched)
*The phone is actually smaller than it looks. In real life it feels pretty compact and doesn't weigh as much as I thought it would (considering its made out of metal)
*The loudspeaker is pretty loud. There's no need for stereo for a phone. You need each speaker to be 5cm from each ear to really appreciate it. The downside though is where it is placed - on the back of the petruding camera. This means if you're playing music and put the phone face-up (the natural way) the speaker is blocked and the sound is very faint, which can be annoying especially if you are worried about your screen.
*Speaking of the petruding camera, it doesn't stick out THAT much. The problem is that it makes grip a little hard sometimes and can make you feel like you're going to drop the phone. In saying that I'd had it stick out 3 times more for this camera. It is AMAZING! way better than I thought it would be. The xenon is as good or better than the n82. I went clubbing and took photos of my friends and I while we were DANCING and the photos turned out great. Nice natural lighting in low-light conditions with no blur. My N86 (and any other LED flash) would have taken a blurry , poor quality shot. I took another photo of my front yard in pitch black and I was amazed how the xenon lit up the whole yard and objects 2 metres away were still so clear. The camera is really good.
The HD video is also impressive. My recommendation is not to use to volume rockers to zoom in and out and it doesn't do this smoothly at all. It actually looks bad if you're fussy. But if you adjust the zoom by touch screen it's fine. The sound quality of the videos is impressive and the digital zoom works better than that on the n86 (which is good!)
*The internet browser is bad. Fullstop. But apparently they are fixing that so we'll see. I installed opera 10 and that works fine
*I have to say I do like Symbian for the way the phone is organised. I can get to anything I want on the phone very easily. I am currently only using 2 of the homescreen and have everything I want on there. They key is to use the "Shortcut" widget and put 4 applications there, instead of having a whole widget , which actually wastes alot of space. The useful large widgets are Email, Facebook, Music Player, Clock, and Missed Events (for msgs and missed calls). If you are an organised person, the homescreen/widget setup on symbian is much more efficient than the iO4
*There could be more apps on Ovi, but in my opinion, apps are gonna keep coming. You're stuck with the hardware and you can't download a xenon flash lol. The apps for Symbian is nothing compared to Apple and Android but they are catching up
*i can also talk about free gps, bluetooth, pentaband and all that, but that's nothing that is unexpected.
I hope I cleared up some things about the n8 for people that are actually interested in buying it. That's my only intention here :) ... With phones it really is up to personal taste
(all the childish trolling and competing is annoying)

Anonymous, 31 Oct 2010A hater?? lol you're funny xD
I've used the iphone 4 nok... moreI doubt you actually own the N8-00. I have both the N8 and the Galaxy S and I can tell you there is no clear winner between these two.
N8 advantages: lower price, much better camera, better GPS & navigation solution, better material (anodized aluminium), better 3G support, better connectivity (USB OTG, HDMI, much better internet/APN control)
Galaxy S: more apps & better screen (and those are basically it, and I think the # of apps for Symbian is catching up)
I won't say Android is better than Symbian^3. There are things that Symbian does better and things that Android does better. If you say that Android is better than Symbian^3 in every single way then I know for sure that you don't actually own a Symbian^3 device.

[deleted post]I'm using the N8-00 right now, and it's quite stable actually. Its camera actually beats my compact digicams.
Do you believe in karma? The Wave is not a bad phone, but I don't think dirty marketing tactic will make it sell better. In fact, because of your spams, Sammy phones will no longer be on my list -- unless it's dirt cheap. Bada still has very limited #s of apps. The Wave is good, but it has issues too e.g. its GPS and its limited #s of apps.
