choice between nokia N8 and samsung galaxy wave?
which one better to buy, money does not matter ,

Any idea about the comparison between Samsung g... morek, let me highlight to you why i chose N8 over glaxy S..
-N8 got better camera
-N8 got better battery life
-N8 got more connectivity options, TV out, HD TV out, USB on the go for flash disks/mice/keyboards
-built quality, metallic body, gorilla glass screen
-N8 got better loudspeakers(as i remember)
-i travel across 3 countries every year, and ovi maps has free life time navigation in them, and a good one.. also the maps are preloaded on the phone, i dont need to my provider anything, so free all the way :), plus, i got gmaps for the "latitude" service they have :)
-symbian^3 is better than android in everything, just how windows XP beats Windows vista... vista looks better but meh :), symbian is more customizable, more hackable, more open source
-real/true multitasking, oh let me add that i never seen that "memory full" error, and i opened many tabs in opera, played angry birds, chatting from nimbuzz, and email client was open :)
-Xenon flash!
-also, i like the side screen slider, it rules :D, and the standby clock is the smartest thing nokia came up with :), its rrly rrly rrly handy!
-gaming in the N8 is better than andriod
why would i chose galaxy,
-4inch screen is nice..
-superamoled is better than 2nd generation amoled i guess
-stock applications, like email client, UI, browser, and so on are much better coded than the nokia ones... with less hiccups, its a matter of time tho ,
-3erd party apps are cooler "looking" than symbian at the momment..

so in short, the bad stuff in the N8 can be solved by software :)
but u cant solve the camera and the battery issues in the galaxy S :),and the cheap plastic looks, and no to mention it rrly looks like an iphone ripoff, and i HATE iphone :)

just bought a nokia n8, it's really amazing,
still cam is very good.
volume is very loud...
i also tried to plug in my usb flash drive through its usb port, and it really reads my files(like excel files, .flv videos from youtube)... amazing..
i also tried to plug my mouse thru usb port and it works...
I dont have a problem with the OS, anyway as long as it's working and have all the features that i need.. good that i rejected the iphone 4 offered to me by Globe network...
i'm presently owning an iphone 3g, but i think i like the N8 more.

Did you try and play a movie in divx, avi, mvk form... morei copied tons of movie types to a usb for u to test :D
like snonre said, nearlly all work
all avi files work.. HD and SD etc, and they are nearly laggless even when i play via usb.. from the device its smooth!
MKV movies work.. but more laggy from usb, they work fine from the device
however, some anime MKV dont work.. only sound, i suspect its because of the hard codded subtitles in them :(
for example, naruto and full metal alchemists "dont" work
but deathnote work XD(but because its English dub, with no sub)
so ya, the media player needs to improve its subtitles compatibility(and im sure it will improve :), 100% :D)
remember that Nokia announced that they wont leave symbian^3 without major updates from now on, :)
the screen looks a bit small for watching, but hte aspect ratio 16:9 is perfect..i watched the whole deathnote ep on it, and enjoyed it :)

I've been telling everyone for months before this phone came out that it would be total garbage. Nokia has their employees voting up the vids and attacking people who leave negative comments here on youtube to try and get people interested in this pile of shit, but this video again proves that it's crap like I said it would be. It has the looks, but nothing else. It's time to look at other phone companies, guys.

2 days with nokia N8, i'm agree with becool, nothing problem with this device, best phone i ever had. c'mon guys, don't be doubt to buy this wonderfull device, and you will be know the most valuable gadget from nokia.

at the moment, there is no words if nokia is working on multitouch keyboard?
Latest update is
swype for c7 but still work on n8
baidu input for chinese and wenglish typing
next firmware update will include portrait qwerty,but it is not that well laid out, we will see
when i typing on n8, i like to turn off the touch vibration, it is annoying

Guys plz dnt believe these Fake ppl lying abt N8 problems...they all r N8 haters..iam using the N8 blue color since many days no prblm at all...i use my fone fr everthing..rarely on the comp...N8 is my new mini comp...i have been dwloading files wic r as big 150 mb...surfing the net..games work amazing...i have installed..asphalt 5,rally pro,avatar..and many more...8gb card i have installed..gallery has godd 2500 items ,but works with no lag at all...the display is awesome...in direct sunlight its perfect can see every single thing, not like the omnia display...This is the most perfect fone i have used...the built quality no fone even comes closer...i love holding my fone....Nokia Rocks...

got my n8 last Thursday :)
for an excellent browsing experience, use the new Opera mini 5.1, which is coded for symbian, not the java based version :)... browsing is as fast as safari and other android devices
dosnt support flash and many of the java scripts, but i like it even more that way, plus it aligns text so its perfectly readable after zoom in :)(it dosnt auto align "after" the zoom, it aligns it like a mobile view from the start, but it still looks more than acceptable :) )

-the camera is better than i expected(after reading 10z and 10z of the reviews :) ), the camera ui should be improved tho :@, like a quick way to close flash(one step, not two steps, its important when you want to take a snap real quick!), also it should enable you to zoom in the pic u just took, instead of forcing you to go back to gallery and check it there, then back to camera and so on :@.. and finally, ffs, the camera has much features to play with, like ISO, exposure,white balance, contrast, sharpness etc etc, why the F dont you make it remember the settings i chose every time i open it? ha?
-the device looks kinda so so at the reviews, but when i saw it in real life and carried it, its just the best looking device out there, and it rrly looks well built... u can feel that when u plug stuff to it too :D, only bad part is the HDMI cover, which dosnt look as well built as the other stuff :), but of its more than fine.. also its getting cold these days, when i wake up and carry my N8, and i feel how cold the metal is, just gives u a rrly classy premium feel :)
-speed... hmm here is the tricky part.. yes the mobile is blazing FAST,, and yes the mobile is LAGGY sometimes, it all depends on the program your using, for example, most of the programs written is in Qt are rrly fast, gallery and music player are the fastest i've seen so far(nvm the mini lag when u touch to zoom, its nothing)
however, you notice some of the lag when u use apps coded for symbian^1... there is lag coz these apps of symbian^1 dont use the GPU at all.. on the contrary to apps coded by qt, which barley put any pressure on the CPU.
-operating system has few bugs here and there, but the phone is stable, didnt crash on me yet, not even close to :P
-Gaming, Angry bird is smooth , but its a light game anywyz... racing games, i dunno how the competition is atm, but at the N8 i felt it could be a bit improved...
-UI, im using SPB shell, so basically UI is as good, or slightly better than andriod/Iphone.. and pretty much more functional :P
-USB on the go is brilliant, used it 3 times already in just the past 2 days :D, a fast(i mean fastest :D) way to copy HD videos and pics you just took, and share it with a friend, while being on the street :), i also used a usb keyboard ,and a bluetooth mouse while the N8 is connected via tv(using 3.5mm jack, not HDMI) coz there wasnt an empty pc at that moment :( :P, fun XD
-loudspeakers are JUST a bit less loud then the 5800, you will never get to notice the diff really, however its a bit more clear too :)
-over all, the N8 puts the 5800 to shame(altho i insist that the 5800 was epic at its time) :), my friend literally threw his 5800 in the garbage in objection :D(he took it out afterward but u get the idea XD),
basically, im happy with my purchase, i feel the N8 hardware is more than capable, it only needs more software that is CODED for it, not some iphone game that was converted badly and ported to it... with Qt 4.7 everything should be solved :)..

oh and the keyboard is ugly.. i used to like the T9 on the 5800, but 3.5 inch screen is more than enough for a portrait keyboard :@, with swype!
full screen keyboard was a bit hard at first, but now i type rrly fast in it, i type in it faster than the e72, but with much more typing mistakes :(,
