What's the first thing you
should do when you get
the N8? Considering it
packs the biggest image
sensor embedded in a
phone yet, Carl Zeiss optics,
and an eight-digit pixel
count, it seemed obvious
to us that the answer was
to take it on a picture- and
video-taking stroll around
London. On our way out
we saw our iPhone 4
looking all sad and lonely,
so we went ahead and
brought it along as well.
Below you shall find one
gallery of pure,
unadulterated N8 sample
shots, another interspersed
with the iPhone's results
for comparison's sake, and
a final one with side-by-
side 100 percent crops
from each image taker.
Once you've digested all of
those, we suggest hopping
past the break and tucking
into some tasty video
comparisons for dessert.
Naturally, all the images
are entirely unretouched
(but for our masterly
watermarking) and the
iPhone 4's HDR hocus
pocus has been left off.
We've also provided a zip
file containing all the full-
res imagery shot with the
N8 in a link below.
A quick note is also
merited about the N8's
resolution. The sensor's
display ratio is 4:3, which
means that full 12
megapixel shots are only
available in those
dimensions. The camera
software, however,
defaults to shooting 9
megapixel snaps at the
increasingly popular 16:9
ratio -- this is done simply
by cropping away the
"excess" bars at the top
and bottom of the image,
meaning that the 9
megapixel images are
giving us identical
performance as the 12
megapixel ones, they're
just chopped down (from
4000 x 3000 to 4000 x
2248) for the sake of
convenience. Now, on with

Those phones r nice for u but personaly I love symbian,itz mature and most popular os ! It is an open source now ! Nokia N8 is feature rich phone with symbian^3 ! We all r different and have different choices ! U r no1 to decide symbian is fail or watever !

in singapore, iphone4 16g c os t 1300 singapore dollar, n8 costs 789 it is half the price of iphone.
There os only one thing i am not that happy with n8 is just the screen res, it could be made higher to be perfect

I don't know why people are comparing N8 to iPhone??? Come on guys,we only compare things that are on the same price range. In my country N8 is 40k and iPhone 4 is 62k.so you see the gulf of difference?? It is obvious that people who can't afford an iPhone will want to buy N8. So we don't really need a comparision. What we want to know is,is N8 worth the money???

All i got from techradar's r... moreabout the techradar review its not about fanboysim or liking the android or htc devices more n hating the nokia n8 ..... its all about the best devices n softwares in the market n to be very honest with you android is the leader as far as the smartphone OS is concerned n anyone who has used the latest android devices will know that.....n also would realise that nokia n8 and symbion 3 OS is no match for say htc desire android,xperia x10 android or google nexus one.
techradar review is just telling u why u should pay the same amount of money on nokia n8 when u can get a better phone with a better OS like htc desire or if want a better camera xperia x10.
Anyone who has tried android devices wont look back to nokia n symbion for sure

All i got from techradar's review is comparison with iphone and android, and how symbian sucks and how it should be like iphone when you do this and that. One moment they are praising the n8 on one feature, only to be told that its not that important afterwards, or that it still sucks.
You can clearly see that the review itself is full of fanboyism, and it's clear that the one who wrote the review is a fan of android/htc/iphone/ios(whatever they are all synonymous to me). Because, they present their verdict without any rational thought. They said this is bad because it just is. If they didn't know where the hell is wrong, if they can't point it out clearly, who would believe them? Unless your a android/apple fanboy too.
Personally, i don't think anyone will benefit from that type of review.

compared to android, symbion is n epic fail n only those people will buy any symbion device who have not used an android device before......
htc desire,xperia x10 are much much much much much much better than nokia n8.
i bet after using any of those two devices u will know where the n8 stands

2) can It play youtube videos (flv n other formats) if u transfer it through pc ?

You wait 9 months on a phone to get landed with this 5 year symbian effort.

I was reading the wave's spec and I clicked refresh and wham, the wave had 50 more votes. So I did a test and click the wave page again in less than a minute and the wave had another more than 10 votes. Either sammy's fans really love their phone or the employees really love the company or both, but this is not right. They shouldn't abuse the voting system. And while they vote 10/10/10 on sammy phones, they probably vote 1/1/1 for Nokia phones and I think that's totally not cool.
I start to feel that gsmarena should require a login for people to vote. Otherwise, people just abuse the system and the ratings become irrelevant.

Does N8 have the same on screen-slider (as in the N97 series) for answering calls when locked? If so,does it have occasional "white Screen" problem we had with Nokia N97 when answering calls while the phone is locked?
