weng, 14 Aug 2010yes, go to main nokia service center at sm megamall at cybe... moret think that nokia center manager located at the sm megamall probobly dont know the true price of the n8.. If they sell it for P46k = 1k usd, then dont buy on the nokia center, buy on other shop in the cyberzone.. Iv bought all my nokia phones on a shop named cellway.. They are certified nokia dealer, but thier price is lower vs nokia center.. Im using nokia phones for years, and i have no problem on each of any that i have.. Just make sure that there is a NTC sticker on it.. The cellway shop too gave 1 year waranty via nokia care..

its a very good mono speakers , but it dosnt support dobly surround
the 5.1 doubly digital is via the HDMI cable, which means your tv/home theater should have it...

It’s really fascinating how people reacts to the Symbian^3 OS eventhough it isn’t released yet. The same way goes for the N8. Some of the comments I’ve
read here somehow shows that they’ve already tried both. Give Nokia a chance people! The specs of this phone for me is really amazing evethough it is somehow late compared to SE, Samsung or even the iPhone. But by just looking at those specs I can definitely say that this is something worth my hard earned money. Just my two cents.
well for the price and features it offers i wud say its a good buy… yeah its not about the pixels but then again the sensor is different so theres a possibility that this could take better photos than any other cameraphones or stand alone point and shoot cameras out there… lets not judge it early kasi we havent experienced the real thing pa naman eh… and i guess the new symbian os is more fluid than its predecessor but still has that familiar feel to it which will make old symbian users ryt at home… i recently got my mom a touchscreen nokia (5233 its cheap and does the job well) and she figured out the ui in a matter of minutes because she was using a non-touch s60 before… and may i say, the blue version is hot…
To be honest, I like Symbian. But that’s because I’m already familiar with it. I just wished Symbian^3 was more about functionality than eye candy. Apparently, this isn’t the case. The one advantage I think Symbian has over Android and iPhone OS is the portrait alphanumeric keypad. It’s probably just me and my big thumbs, but I don’t think I’ll ever get used to typing on a portrait QWERTY keypad!
my comments are:
Hardware : there are other phones out there which have higher hardware specs than N8, Android Phones and IPhone and even Samsung Bada’s..the only thing that Nokia earn points would be the ROM = 512MB, the sensor and the megapixel count
Software : i believe that symbian is losing its popularity already, until they dont come up with a more sleek UI..
on the other hand,i like symbian in the way of its usuability, e.g. first of all multitasking, connecting to other mobile phone via Bluetooth, PTP, FTP,PIctBridge, its ability to adapt to PC’s(even Mac OSX allows to) even as removable storage, drag symbian install files at the memory card(even without PC suite), and even internet tethering, and now additional HDMI for TV..i dont know if apple and android could do that all, oh, they just fixing bugs after bugs by the moment..haha..
Imaging : i hope Nokia improve these on the N8, but based on the videos over the launch, i say it might be convincing
Gaming : Nokia improve gaming pls..adapt N-Gage but beefier games..
Battery Life : Nokia would be a little bit improving on these parts, E-Series phone at N-Series have been on good performance lately, even the 5800 could stand 5 days(beat that iPhone, usually E-series phones like E63, E72 and E90 stayed with me for 9 days)..
still there’s room to improve, but im betting good reviews on these one before it will be released..BTW, Maemo Linux is good but too complicated like Android.

N8 has a single speaker near the camera lens that is very excellent. It has a dolby digital surround support.
The camera lens is confirmed to have a scratch resistant surface. For those complaining of the lack of camera lens cover. What d'ya want a 12.9 mm n8 or 14-15 mm n8!?

we dont need such high end application processors fr a fone wat we need is a gaming rig a proper GPU n if u google up about N8 ’s GPU u would know dat it is d most powerful fone GPU in d world which can be used to full potential thnx to symbian^3 n for god’s sake check out d gaming videos of N8
I wouldn’t mind if this phone was a symbian phone but in term of hardware and some aspect f the hardware the phone isn’t worth competing with the high end devices from other companies…for eg the hardware of the An is hardly mind blowing since all other companies been cooking 1ghz for their phones n so 680 mgz in An isn’t fascinating…also the 3.5 amoled doesn’t sound new either…the UI on the other hand is alright but nth fully optimized for friendly user experience because not everything in the screen is touch active like the battery n signal symbols,,thy should have been touch optimezed, nth just sitting on the screen for u to look at..and the widgets are boring…I hope symbian 4 gets a whole UI REVAMP and thn Nokia can say quality over quantity ;)

N8 will almost reach 3.8 million hits and 80,000 votes.
Help me raise the ratings! VOTE IT 10 10 10 !! I hate HATERS so much.
@ BERT. N8 supports landscape QWERTY texting. It will be flawless because N8 boasts an AMOLED 3.5" capacitive touchscreen. It will responsive. :D Of what you're asking. N8 doesn't have portrait qwerty layout. N8 has the alphanumeric virtual keypad with refreshed looks. I think it can be possible to have one via third party application. Can anyone correct me if I'm wrong? Please. Thanks.
Nokia N8 will almost reach 3.8 million hits and 80,000 votes. With the daily interest percentage of 93%.
Can you please help me raise the ratings of N8! Vote it 10 10 10! I hate the HATERS so much! X)
Symbian 3 is goodness. I hate people complaining about it. you better leave this DECENT FORUM. Based from S1. I have used it all over again. First was Nokia 5800 XpressMusic. It works good. We can't deny that 5800 is a phone that rocked the world. It even topped the most in demand cellphone in UK stores. After 5800, I used N97 32 GB. The software is really bad. The ARM 11 434 mhz and 128 MB SDRAM is harmful to the handset. I liked the design of N97 at the back. Samsung Vibrant copied the N97's back panel. Just look at it. After using the N97 which is a big disappointment, I purchased Nokia X6 which has the capacitive touchscreen and the fabulous 5 MP camera which shoots decent photos. Overall these Nokia smartphones all equipped with ARM 11 434 mhz and insufficient RAM. My Symbian total user experience was good enough for me. I love the total functionalities. Though it hangs and freezes sometimes. I've been used to it. HAHAHAHA! :DD
N8 with ARM 11 680 mhz is good enough. It is equipped with a Broadcom GPU which even showed more triangles over Samsung Galaxy S. The 256 MB SDRAM is also good enough. Just look at the Nokia N900, it is a multitasking beast right?! The 256 MB ram will be enough.
I believe this is really the Nokia Savior. I know Nokia will not fail us.
I live in the Philippines and confirmed that N8 is coming in our country. N8 is priced PHP 46,850 or USD 1033.91 WHOA! How shocking. I can buy two e72s with 46,850. There is really a limited number of stocks because the unit is really expensive. I wonder why it is far from the promised 370 euros.
Ill still buy N8 because I like the multimedia features like 12mp, hd video recording, can play divx/xvid codec, dolby surround, webTV etc.
N8 is confirmed coming to the Philippines on the FIRST WEEK OF SEPTEMBER.

By the time this phone is actually released, there will be a lot of much faster, better spec'd phones for the same price, even for the camera.
That's sad. I'd have bough it a month ago. I'd buy maybe today, although I'd feel a bit off with the browser (the N8 browser kinda sucks and all you get is a rumored update in ages from now)
But instead I'm receiving a galaxy s monday.
I think it's a very shared feeling, unless you're a hardcore nokia fan, the waiting game of the N8 is not worth it anymore
