I just cant overcome the fact that s3 will be replaced by s4 soon and that meego is only for high end phones. Doesn't that bother anyone at all?
Why update to s4 so soon?

Nokia N8 is not the first first device to offer DOLBY DIGITAL PLUS 5.1 multi channel surround sound. There has acutally been a lot of content out there for quite some time - fair amount of music & videos/movies in fact - but the production & movie companies didn't have the means to get it out.
Money was invested into the technology but it never took off until HD bought somemeans of delivery opportunities possible. larger & internal storage medium & Medium such as Bluray/players & HD streaming services, tv & broadcast now starting tomake use of sme this content.
Now that Mobile Phone manufacturers can launch their own Music services, video content services. Their could be a really good market here to get some of this content onto Nokia N8's. The market & delivery to get this content out there used to be poorer with poor streaming, video bitrate etc.. quality.
With the latter things said about HD, this might be an opportunity for production/hollywood & HD broadcasting tv services & online HD streaming services to try again & get multi channel music & video conten available with good quality high bitrate delivery services.
This is could be an opportunity for nokia to make a niche in expanding their market by signing up for content/patents providers to get some of this pue dolby digital music/videos to their phones a bit like their OVI Music service. hmm?
It seems everyone is using the same MPEG4 profile & containers for audio & video. H.264 main profile, AAC 256KBPS although dolby would recommend 448kbps for audio but 256kbps with this type of compression there isn't much of a difference between performance & capacity so it's great for super high quality content like this to get onto your mobile.
From your mobile through HDMI to your HD tv. BBC with Iplayer are using MPEG4 H.264, AAC 256kbps also I think for content streaming & delivery. This would work great for Nokia & for the N8 with the Mobile DOLBY PLUS getting into more & more mobile phones. The opportunity & capacaity & capabliy fr mobile phones to take over Media players could happen, may not but..
We have never had 5.1 proper full quality multi channel surround sound, so it's really exciting for the industry to bring excellen quality content, finally!

Just watch out next month, Septembers going to be Crazy Month for new Mobiles coming out, because of Nokia delaying the release of the N8,Nokia going to have a Fair in London on the 10th to 14th an Htc on the 15th going to announce there new mobile an Sony Ericsson PSP phone going to be released,an i am sure loads more,an who as caused the Big Rush-Nokia announcing the N8 way to Early an the others reacting to cut the Sales of the N8,another Crazy mistake at Nokia again, they have got to start realising there is not only them who creates mobiles,an got to keep Quiet an shock the others when creating a new mobile,as we always find out about a new Nokia mobile about 3-4 months before it released so the others have time to react an produce a more up to date mobile making the Nokia mobile not so Outstanding, but this trend never seems to stop but Nokia have got to stop this happening themselves

At one time for the older Nokia s60 devices such as my 5800 & others, there was no built-in Mobile Office Document Readers. The only way to get them were to buy it as payed content from third party symbian stores, or Nokia's own OVI Store.
With the N8 The mobile office document editor is included free with S^3 OS & is classed as a key application along with webtv, photo & video editor. New improved Music player, improved video player, improved web browser. Massive improvement for messaging. You can now have proper conversation with threaded messaging, so it's all unified inbox.

Guys... I've got a query...
N8 supports 720p video playback right. Ok i'm not specifying the video formats supported for now. it also supports Dolby DTS and 5.1ch surround sound right? Just take the case with a 720p mp4 video that has 5.1ch encoded audio. Dolby is AC3 multi channel audio format. So does that mean, the 5.1ch audio can be played back on the phone itself (whether it be the built in speakers or standard earphones) or is it only supported when connected to a TV that supports HDMi input. Can N8 really support surround sound via the speaker or earphones or is it just converted to stereo for playback on the phone?

I loved all my nokia phones especially my N95 was my favorite but then I got the N97 which I'm still using & Nokia has let me down to the point that I'm going to make the switch to Android most likely the Samsung Galaxy S. Maybe this N8 can redeem them but that's left to be seen.

About 10days before the rumored release date of the 24/08, there is still no official statement from Nokia... Anyone agreeing that this is weird??
As much as I am interreted in that phone, I am rather suspicious as per when it will hit the stores!!

Why those Stupid people think that Symbian isn't good.
Symbian ^3 isn't a Symbian S60.
Symbian ^3 will be better than all stupid OSs.
