5800 was the first smartphone for Nokia to bring the resisitive touchscreen & the S60 UI. Since then Nokia have had many touchscreen smartphones based upon the 5800 which have improved the resistive touchscreen & S60 UI. Then Nokia tried their first capacitive touchscreen on the X6 phones making S60 UI compatible with both types of display technologies.
Now we have the N8 with an improved capacitive touchscreen imrproved UI further. The capacitive will be the best yet, the touch UI the best yet, the glorious AMOLED display the best yet! If they were good in the previous phones, expect better, fast enouh CPU, enough RAM, Internal memory, Expndable transflash.
The features I am most looking forward to are unified inbox threaded messaging, magnetometre for compass, AMOLED display, the brilliant GPU, full GPS features with extras, A-GPS assited by WIFI inside your home. Animated themes. Wifi N, Transfer videos over Bluetooth V3.0. Prtty goo loudspeaker, Excellent camera, 720P video, Fm radio, transmitter. Flash lite 4.0.

Just don't confuse others :-) The N8, after a cold reset, needs only 100MB to run. Android crashes even if it has twice as much. Android is a operating system which is catering for a wide audience (including subnote books), whereas the s3 is totally customised for one device only - the N8. But then again, some people will never understand, no matter how much explaining is done . . .

Why does everyone always say that symbian doesn't need high end processors and ram unlike ios and android. But the truth is ios and android doesn't need high spec hardware either!
They have been running fine on slower processors and lower ram for years. ios was just fine on the iphone1 until 3gs. Legend, hero, droid and many other handsets are able to run android smooth and fast.
But the same just can not be said about symbian. It runs slow and sluggish no matter what hardware you are using (sony, nokia, samsung). And thats why I just want to know why everyone keeps saying that symbian doesn't need high specs while my experiences say otherwise.

I agree with the 'N8 Fan'. Before the cell is released, the rating basicaly shows the expectation the fans are having. Only after its release the ratings can be seen as 'ratings'. More meaningfull now is the huge number of votes. That only can mean one thing - HUGE popularity. Very few cell phones have reached 100.000 votes thruout their life times. The N8 will get there before it is released! Now that says a lot.

However, the almost 80.000 votes is a testimony to the N8's popularity and anticipation. The scores you point out show merely the expectations the fans have. Indeed after the N97 disappointment, this expectations are not high at all. However, I am convinced, after its release the cell will positively surprise everybody :-)

All third party online shopping websites where N8 is available on preorder are confirming release dates from 26 Aug '10 to 31 Aug '10. They all can't be wrong! Monster is coming much sooner than expected!
