Hi, i just played a game on my n8 which i liked a lot, Mystery Mania, only 417kb and better than many hd games. If you know similar other games please share the titles,

But there are 2 things that could make nokia to take this bad decisions (for us, the users). All the apps in store, when i say all i mean ALL, does not take advantage of better hardware. The biggest problem of them all would be the screen rezolution. A bigger resolution would make your app look like crapp. But i thik this is just a small part of their decisions. I think nokia planed to ditch symbian before the N8 came out. I mean. Come on! Symbian v^3 was the first symbian system to support bigger screen resolutions and multicore processors, also the beautiful graphic cards. And in n8 they took advantage only of the graphic card capability that's it:-j. Kind of strange, don't you think? I think that Nokia so somethin fishy about symbian. The way it developed was to slaw and other os were pushing high specs hardware support while symbian was always under develop. So Nokia got scared and instead of pushing symbian deices with all that this system got, (and v^3 has allot to show, we have never seen the full power of this beautiful system, and maybe we will never see it, SAD) they pushed low hardware devices just to keep them alive while they slowely moved to wp. Now, i don't know why they did not continue pushing devices with MeeGo. This system was in fact the first system thay had in plan for the future. To slowely move to MeeGo, cause of the potential. Maybe they decided not to invest in mobile systems anymore and leave that to others... So they killed, selled and ditched everything developing with their money. At least, this is what i think:)

Here the black is the cheepest 210 240€, but still expensive when we're talkin' about 199$ here.

Just suppose n8 with android 2.3 gingerbread or later os. Anyone here have any meathod to install android on n8.

N8 is a great device, best in camera, build quality, ease in hand, microphone, hdmi, connectivity but it is moderate in os quality, cpu and bad in ram and battery backup. Through I like it too much

To success symbian must have the easy devloping api like android and must support adobe flash not flash lite. Another thing is it must be open source so that everyone can develop its software. All these things make android the most popular os. I like symbian but its complex api is obstacle in its apps development which finally led to its failure. Yes it is the best os in terms of energy efficiency, memory efficiency, etc. but symbian must be open source inorder to make it a true os. Look android, how customisable it is so that it is used on mobiles, watches, cameras, etc. The symbian apps must be that level or beyond that customisable and not be a private os of nokia-only.Www

pammy, 16 Dec 2012handset prosesor is low Low Processor and Low RAM in N8 are Nokia's unwise decission and mistakes (not Symbian mistakes at all). Look how high the processor & RAM given by Nokia for the Lumias..?! But hey... if it's look as a whole package, N8 is undoubtly a great phone and a succesful product in its time (it's still rock even now).

In 808PV Symbian was given a little bit higher 1,3 GB processor & alittle bit higher 512 MB RAM, and look it's smooth and fast.

If Nokia Belle is given the same specs as Android, for example, 1,7 GB Processor, 1GB RAM, and 3300mAh battery like in Razr Maxx, it will easily beat other smartphones in the market, and the battery life will last 1 week with only a single charge. Amazing Symbian !

But be careful, it is highly addicted:)). You may fell in love to it very quick, the build quality is incredible. When you will have it in your hands you will feel like is even more solid then the N8. But i guess is only a feel:). Also, about what i've said. Remember i've always mentioned that this are my opinions (conspiracy's). So it doesn't have to be all true:). For example Wikipedia states that there was Android.inc (a brand, i suppose) founded in 2003, this guys were developing (in secret, :-?) a mobile software with a Linux kernel (interesting). Anyway, the guy with this idea went bankrupt so, a very good friend of his Steve Perlman (interesting again, a apple guy) brought him some money, i don't know for what... with 10.000$ (this is what Wikipedia states) you cannot keep a business running. Now, in 2005, Google bought Android Inc. (i wonder WHY). A bankrupt guy with a "small" idea bought by Google it self!(here comes my conspiracy of Google's interest in Maemo). Anyway, there are allot of conspiracies that come in my head:)). So nobody can know the reality. But i like my ideas of the things that happened:)). I really appreciate for the reply (to be honest it was more a seminar!!! than a simple reply). I really - really enjoyed "studying" a lot of things you've posted about OS. I liked also the example of cheating :) because I've done it at school in biology test i think, i took 17/20 and my friend I've copied from took 13/20 :) it was really funny :)
Also thank you for the previous reply in 808 forum if you remember, regarding the availability of the pure view, I'll visit this week media markt, its the only shop i've never had it in mind. Thanks again, we will be in touch.
(Btw, speaking of cheating no one exept gsm_arena has never mentioned the Nokia-apple court fight decision, i phone has stolen more than 20 from Nokia and apple finally had to admitted it.)

The shops linked to gsmarena are selling n8 for more expensive than n9. I said this phone is iconic:)
