Anonymous, 12 Jun 2010Another Nokia N 'never touch' series phone that will seem b... morealot of guys have been comparing n8 to iphone and android phones!what i want to say is:to realise what perfect piece of device n8 is you'd better compare it to n97!n97 was one of the best selling smarts of 2009, know why?bcos it had all the features you can think about and they are all well balanced.when comparing n97 to other phones you'll discover that there're smarts with better screens,there're smarts with better and faster cpu,there're smarts with more comfortable qwerty keyboard e.t.c!but when you look at the overall performance n97 comes out second to none!and now nobody'll disagree that n8 is far better than n97?one more thing i want to point out is:if nokia'll polish out n8 and release it near perfect then we,nokia fans are ready to wait for 2 months even more!it'll be unforgivable if nokia releases n8 in a few weeks and it comes out with flaws!i'm inpatienly awaiting august!cheers to all nokia fans out there!!!i really pity those who claim to hate nokia they're just jealous hahaha!!!

This is a very good phone, but it could have done better. Why did they use a non user removable 1200mAh battery if Korean manufacturers can offer 1500mAh removable batteries? The 720p video could have been at 30fps, cmon! 5 megapixel cameras running Android are already well capable of this! Also, why did they use a 680MHz processor in a high end device when processors capable of over twice this speed are available? Nokia designers seem to favor form over function because they have sacrificed much just for the sake of aesthetics. I'm sure buyers would understand having a bigger and/or heavier N8 with much better capabilities. With these problems addressed along with a higher resolution screen would make the N8 perfect.

Better than n900 because it is a very complete phone, full support of nokia ovi support, many hardware features
when meego phone show up, both symbian and meego phone have their own unique characteristics
meego has better brain than symbian, it is truth
symbian is suitable for phone os, original

3M, 12 Jun 2010Cortex-A8 is almost twice as fast as Arm11.Arm11@680 is som... moreThe ARM 1176 of the Nokia N8 is a de-clocked version of the real thing which originally has 720Mhz.
And since Symbian^3 doesn't rely much on its processor since it has a GPU it'll be just as fast as a Cortex A8.

Just a quick question, does anyone know whether you are able to turn off the "shutter sound" when you take photos (i.e. the sound that comes out of the speakers) and/or the recording sound when you begin to record a video like you can with the Innov8/i8510?

Another Nokia N 'never touch' series phone that will seem brill for a week then start freezing, turning off, running slow, failing to send texts, have faulty buttons and camera. If your going to get one be prepared to Sofftware flash every week and send it off to Nokia for warranty repair every 6-8 weeks.

Another Embarassment at Nokia,Apple announce the iPhone 4 an its available in 2 weeks,Why do Nokia always make the wrong decision an announce there mobiles to early, an people get annoyed waiting for it to be released an then buy a alternative phone instead,this trend as been going on for ages at Nokia an hope it gets changed after the big shake up at Nokia,Like to see how the sales of the N8 will suffer with the new iPhone 4 being released 2 months before the N8,Please Grow UP Nokia an stop this Stupid Trend

Cortex-A8 is almost twice as fast as Arm11.Arm11@680 is something like 400mhz Cortex-a8.On the other hand i believe Symbian@400mhz A8 is faster (if it can be somehow compared)to android@550mhz(milestone). 1Ghz A8 is much much faster than Arm11@680 on any OS, I suppose.

hopefully there is 5mp with the same camera sensor in n8, xenon flash
and ovi maps free sat nav
