Well think about it. Their OS's are different. And specially since the N8's all about consuming the least power. I can just imagine the iPhone hoggin up all that battery. LOL

Then after you're all done thinking you're all right. Consider this. The battery of the N8 is 1200mAh only. All the other phones out there have 1500mAh. Nokia's all about saving the earth.

But remember, all those devices are flagship devices that must come with no less the best.

N8 is a significant product but was never the flagship model.

Where ever it might hurt (your ears listening to fanboys' rants) it wont hurt your wallet.

Rajesh, 07 Jun 2010Thanks for your explaination. But there is a problem which ... moreHi Rajesh.

When I cited the P4 as an example, I was not making a direct correlation between desktop CPUs and mobile processors. I was merely (as I did state there) generalizing the cost behind using a very high clock speed CPU in any device be it desktops, portables or mobiles. When you stuff a big, power hungry processor, there are other considerations like the design of the (PC or mobile) to account for increased power requirement.
In the case of the N8, since the under-clocked speed of 680 Mhtz was deemed enough by the manufacturer to run all required task within the context of available power, there is no reason to resort to a 1Ghtz CPU just for the sake of it. That will ultimately only serve to add to the final cost of production.

I would welcome more technological discussions with you, that's what these forums are for right. I did to in the PC manufacturing industry before (perhaps that's why I'm so hung up on the hidden costs of CPU than the CPU itself :)) with Dell but I have since changed over to advertising.

iphone 4 will pose a tough competition for this.

it still built on old hardwares and is late too.

Well I disagree with that., you want a camera then buy Panasonic DMC-FX70 or Samsung NX5 or Sony Alpha 290 DSLR., not so good OS of this phone., which it has high OS and RAM then this will be a real monster phone like Samsung Galaxy S

The over all build is using great material that u cannot find on any of HTC phone.

The look (design) also not bad :)

Yea.. partly is because it is from Nokia.

The least i want to see is a lagging sluggish device that would have had a huge potential. Just think nokia should not afford such position when this is supposed to be kind of a come back. and you know that's what the end consumer would judge against. By end of august competitors will be announcing 1.2GHZ processors with 1G RAM. go compete against that... my two cents for what they are worth. nice talk tho..
