I'll probably get this, does anyone know when it's going to be released? PLEASE SEPTEMBER OR BEFORE NOVEMBER! For now, I'll buy a Samsung corby module (they're cheap and good) because my phones are all playing up.

Have you ever thought of it
nokia put omap3 in maemo5, but for symbian they put arm 11 680mhz, do you think nokia is stupid again? If symbian uses only arm 11 procesor but no gpu and big ram, then it is bad as hell

Anonymous, 20 May 2010Have nokia said offically that symbian does not need faster... moreyes anyphone company can load their phone with snapdragon 1Ghz proc and 1Gb ram,then the cost production will rise,and the cost for research to balance hardware power consumption and standby time will double too,if N8 comes with 1Gh cpu and GPU 1Gb ram,maybe they will sold it at 800$.than their strategy too populate people with symbian *3 will fail bcause no app company will make apps for that OS.its a new firmware and first symbian *3 debut on touchphone it is smart to make an affordable phone so lot of people can have it and nokia will gets lot of featback to improve it,and the app comp will interest to make apps cause the symbian *3 sold to many people who potential for buying their apps.
if N8 symbian *3 going to be suck at it debut,i think it will be better to try it with cheaper phone than expensive hightech phone,like the 5800xm strategy.btw the arm 11 procs in 5800xm and N8 arm 11 procs is from different series.N8 arm 11 is a higher end than 5800xm arm 11.fast phone like N900 and omnia II doesnt have 1Gh cpu but their ended up as a good snappy phone,and they dont have 1gb ram too,funny isnt it?u can compare the omnia II perfom with the 1Gh winmo monster device and still u will find omnia II have a better speed and respons.u can't judge the phone prform only by looking at it CPU speed Hz only.maybe be by reading some reviews and user exps.lets wait for it review at gsmarena

amr, 20 May 2010heavy and bad os synbian not good windows mobile by hackin... morevery low battery power mmh compared to any mobile having half this options 1200mah what is this it needs at least 2000mah stand by 400h hhhhh it is without using or touching mobile if just took 2 3 pics and 10 seconds video flash will kill battery and n draft wifi is enough to kill battery alone 5800 and n80 and n95 on own experience battery very weak and all thier battries r 1368 to 1500 and n80 890mah nokia batterys are the porst sony ericson batteries never seen like them before bad at all

I never intend to compare iPhone and N8, I completely undestand that those two phone have their own target market. And also, for the record, I found it a bit funny when people said "iPhone killer", as how they seem tryin to say that no other device is better than iPhone.
What I mean is that iPhone and N8, is 2 different device, designed specifically for different people, both have their own ups and downs. As for me, I'm gonna buy me this N8 after Nokia released it

Anonymous, 20 May 2010Don't like its processor speed, it should be atleast 1Ghz.From Symbian^3 the processor Speed (1Ghz) doesnt matter much since everything from now on will depend on GPU speed..
What matters most is the "GPU speed".. this thing has broadcom GPU which has 3-4 times the power of Cortex A8 used in milestone or Droid or 2 times the GPU power of SnapDragon.
It just shows how ignorant you are.

but with iPhone 4G? lets be re... moreThe N8 isn't for the iPhone crowd. Anyone with an unbiased view would have realised that by now. Heck it isn't even a flagship device, so I do not understand why people like you think that every phone Nokia launches is to “combat an iPhone”.
The N8 is more for the convergence crowd. People like me, who’d like to take decent pictures, great video and still be able to “do it all” just with one device. A better term for it, in this regard, would be an “Imaging Flagship” device, i’ll give you that.
