Nokia and apple are not innovative, but nokia know what their customers better,
does it have threaded sms? Slide to unlock? Back button in web browser?

Anonymous, 29 Apr 2010Are you ignorant? Its an AMOLED screen. Amoled screen uses ... moreAm I? You may be right. But the screen is NOT ONLY a battery killer. Always on 3G, processor, multi-tasking and a few others things too.
1200 mAh is simply not enough. For example, iPhone can last a day or 2 even with wifi on if you turned the 3G off. With 3G on, iPhone only last half a day.
Well, if you have to turn the 3G off to save the battery, what the use of today's smartphones then?
Well, I can guess N8 will last maximum 10 hours if you use push mail.

Chad, 29 Apr 2010Okay, what's amazing about this? Forget that it's from Noki... moreeverytime nokia announces an amazing phone and people like you who comes here in nokia forum who has nothing to say that apple is better..maybe you just can't accept the fact that nokia is the innovator of all mobile companies..probably you don't understand what the specs are..unlike iphone same old same old.

Okay, what's amazing about this? Forget that it's from Nokia and compare it to everyone else. The UI is lackluster, all the features have already been done before and this is coming out late in the year, and Android/Apple have MUCH more apps. What's the point of this device besides to give diehard Nokia fans a decent phone?

If it has OLED = one can see nothing under sun light. Why they chose this type of display. Looks like only to clean warehouse.

It appears that Samsung dropped its Omnia HD and Nokia picked it up the idea, pleasing us with an even better product. Now Nokia is in the game again! :)

Anonymous, 28 Apr 2010may be you have never used touch smartphones after all. bec... moreAre you ignorant? Its an AMOLED screen. Amoled screen uses 40% less power than a TFT screen. An amoled screen with 1200mah battery has a battery life equivalent to a TFT screen (like the Satio) with 2000mah battery.

Anonymous, 28 Apr 2010FYI, the N8 does not use AMOLED, BUT OLED, big difference.Actually, the AM part of AMOLED refers to "Active Matrix", which is how the pixels are "controlled". The OLED (organic light-emitting diode) part refers to the technology the pixels are made of. So, there is no difference between AMOLED and OLED.
Imagine the OLEDs as a bunch of tiny light bulbs, and the AM (Active Matrix) as the light switch.
I hope this helps.
