Jim, 29 Apr 2010It's funny how the people criticize the processor speed as ... moretotally wrong. processor makes the different. Smartphone programs are too small to use up all RAM. May be Nokia phones are not too smart to know how much RAM you are using.
For example: HTC HD 288 RAM and 528 MHz processor and HD2 has 448 RAM and 1 GHz processor.
RAM usage is only 30 to 50% all the time, even you have 10 applications opened. But HD2 is extremely fast and HD is a typical windows mobile, slow and lag.

It's funny how the people criticize the processor speed as being "only" 680Mhz, but get their panties all wet over the HTC Legend which only has 600Mhz as well. First off, this is a mid-range priced phone, I'm sure they'll put a stronger processor in a phone when they price it 500-600. And secondly, I would be more worried about the RAM instead of the processor, if they cheap out on that one it could really affect the phone's speed and smoothness, but 680Mhz instead of 1000 won't really make any difference, see: All comparisons between Iphone3gs and Htc Desire or accordingly strong phones. The difference in speed is marginal. To prove my point even further: Compare 3gs with Samsung Jet and you'll see that a 600Mhz phone can be much quicker than an 800Mhz phone. Why? Because of the RAM.
Also, the need of people to know every technical spech about the phone and use them to wage which one to buy is really annoying. Take it into your hand, see which one you like better, works better and matches your requirements, buy. Simple as that. If a phone is slow and works bad and you don't like it, you wouldn't change your mind if someone told you "but it has a 1,5Ghz processor", would you? So why do it beforehand?!

Nokia should Start making a little bigger touch screens and there should be loads of 3D or high quality apps like Iphone , PPL now days want these stuff. Nokia should also change the OS the menu everything is same as other nokia phones which make it boring and old.

Its a fantastic effort for a first symbian 3 smartfone,,just like the first 5th edition smartfone was a superb effort and its sold millions...Look at how much has been done by the engineers to get this spec into the fone and its incredible battery life..
Hope they bring out a clamshell design altho after using the t-mobile pulse for a week maybe big touchscreens are growing on me a bit???

Has anybody here actually handled one yet? Calm down folks lol It's just another Nokia phone which hopefully no one will proclaim to be the iphone killer, "God I hate that sentence" I am no iphone fanboy but it is gonna take a whole lot more than this to kill of the iphone. The average users "about 95% of smartphone users" who quite frankly don't give a toss what OS is running on what phone are much more likely to go for the iphone. My friend works for the carphonewarehouse and says that if it wasn't for the unrealistic tariffs slapped on the Iphone it woulda sold a whole lot more.
Apple have cemented that position all the rest aspire to topple the Iphone but unfortunately are just conforming to the iphone form and standard sad sad sad.

yeah those nokia haters are so pathetic.. They dont have the n8 yet and never had a symbian phone.. They love worshipping their useless phones because they have low IQ. They are satisfied with tinie winie features of the so called their 'mighty phone' but in fact it is all their money can buy
