The specs of this phone r too hot to resist. I cant wait to get my hands on dis babe. Hope it wont gag while multitasking. If nokia want to set record sales of N8 then they must add Lens Cover and replace the battery to 1500 mAh. Cum on Nokia u gave a small handset like E63 1500 mAh power but hesitating to give the same to this Big Boy!! Wake up!! Rise n Shine!!

icedre, 27 Apr 2010the phone looks ugly to me , even if it have 1080p hd 50fps... moreno nooooo nooo u r wrong suuuuuuure u r wrong ..100percent u r wrong.....Nokia's phones like the N8 got carlziess optics which means it's made in germany and all of us know the the germans r the best in such things...my previous n73 which has 3.2mp cam can take video better than the c905 in Sony erricson which has 8 mp cam...sorry baby but when i see the recordings in the sony erricson's cams i just feel i want to throw up..it's just bad and horrible....
so simply Nokia is the best

This is just another challenge to the excellent Iphone.

Wait until June/July when Iphone 4 is due to be formally announced & I think you'll find that it will make these specifications look rather sick.

I don't know if the Nokia N8's main selling feature based on what we currently know so far is the camera#. Sorry to be a moaning minnie again but... a few questions i ask myself really? WHY! They say it includes 6 channel HD Dolby Digital. How good are the built-in loudspeakers, are they loud enough, do they equal the 5800. I'm a bit upset that the screen is not higher resolution though either. Like 640x360 is relic in TFT screens utilising it. 800X480 at least but I guesse Nokia were late in the development over any rival mobile brands? AMOLED? just how good is the sunlight legibility. Will be interested to hear how it fares in bright sunlight, as my Nokia 5800 is so poor , I don't know what i'm doing outdoors. It needs to be as good as the samsung. Nice to inclue WiFI 802.11/b/g/n standards. Web Flash lite 4.0, flash 10, Nokia 5800 was again poor here. blutooth 2.1 standard, nothing flashy there. HSDPA 10.2MBPS better for anywhere utilising a faster than 3.5G network, probably virtually everywhere with the exception of the UK slow plan roll out. Nice to have an FM transmitter. Web TV is nice to have & background downloading although overlooked is a nice little thing to have on the quiet. The ARM 11 at least a faster 680Mhz CPU, again with 256MB RAM, you can expect it to be pretty nippy & responsive with memory & application performance., especially when Symbian3 has improved memory effiency & multi tasking capabilities. Nice to see a 3D hardware accelerator, Nokia 5800 did not have that. But I hope the sound chip is equal to or better than 5800 & loudspeakers again!! I must admit it's nice to have 16GB of memory anyway & a expandable memory storage up to 48GB. Capacitive is awesome, & WOW multi touuch input method with it too. Multi gesture control, Symbian 3 really improves on the old Symbian 1 Web Browser which was aweful to naviagate. I think Nokia are coaxing us up for something pretty special in their next phone after this. When you consider it has almost perfect with the almost perfect spec. All the next phone needs is bigger battery, SAMOLED, 800x480, 1GHz cpu.

Just think. Nokia had nearly almost done it. They are nye on close to making history with hte most advanced technological smart phone ever

nokia always do good cameras but i bet they were fed up having to bring out a stupid 12MP camfone when they still want to concentrate at the 5MP mark..About battery,, symbian was highly optimised when third edition employed feature pack 2 and looks like they have done even better..600MHz is enuf for this type of device but i suppose people want the 1GHz mark which would not increase the speed but hammer the battery...Glad symbian 3 spec quoted graphics accelelaration this should fly judging by battery its very good coding..

Nokia N8 has an odd shape, but its nice...it will be interesting to see how the new and improved symbian os looks and runs compared to android, specs of the phone are ok nothing to brag about here(the camera maybe) i think a snapdragon chip would have spiced things up a little. waiting for the review.

i think that it should have a better proccessor, no 680mhz, nokia n97 is really really but really slow, i hope that the n8 would be quicker than n97, everything is really nice, but the main thing is a quick-task smartphone.

almost perfect! i guess you really can't get everything you wanted in just one phone. no doubt the n8's specs will make you wish September will be the next month specially the 12mp/carl zeis optics/xenon flash all together and oh, 720p hd video recording are all in. almost everthing is perfect and totally desirable but i just can't think why.. why nokia.. why did you forget the camera cover???? maybe this will be acceptable if this is a music phone but this isn't just a smartphone, this is obviously a CAMERA PHONE for Christ sake so why the cam cover? its a 500usd phone, why not add 50usd more and put a damn cover on the lens? Would you be sooo proud of your 12mp carl zeis optics xenon flash cam if it's dusty or scratched? but that's just it. good thing is even without that cam cover, n8 is still a kickass. my 3mp iphone 3g is long gone and once n8 is out, im gonna say goodbye to my omniaII.. i cant get all i wanted but n8 is still the thing to beat. (damn why the cover?! ^_^)

There's no way that inside this phone could be ARM11 SoC! ARM11 SoC's can't handle 12mp sensors, and playback 720p H.264 packed videos!

@680MHz there's most probably Texas Instruments OMAP3600 series, opposed to N900's OMAP 3400 series.
