AnonD-2665, 15 Oct 2011when i open my default browser and try to connect the homep... moreGitty, go to settings>Connection>Destinations>Internet & select the one you use (your operators name on it). There at the bottom side you'll find an option called Homepage. Click and delete it all and save and go back. Again, visit settings>Connection>Destinations>WAP & do the same as above. Now go to your browser & check. Hope it'll solve your problem. The reason I think it'll solve your problem is because there might be some problem with the homepage you browse. If so, it'll not go to your homepage, rather take you to your main screen of the browser.
        Take care.

Sorry guys, I have had enough. I love my N8 and all, but that would be by very last Nokia. I'm gonna buy a Galaxy SII today & though I love Symbian better than Android, I'll have to stick to Android. Wish you all the best & also the same to Nokia. Maybe if Nokia ever makes a good Symbian phone with better durability (which doesn't push me make friends with the Nokia Care people within a year), I'll switch back to Nokia. For now, I'll start with S2 & see where it takes me. This will be my last entry as N8 Lover S. From now on I'll be known as ..., I don't know, I haven't give it a thought. For me, ciao Nokia, for you, maybe Keep N8-ing. But before leaving, I wanna say that N8 is the sexiest looking phone around till date & I find it hard to believe that Nokia didn't take much care to make it durable by working on it's software. I wish I didn't have to leave.
          Take care.

My n8's default headset controller are not functioning. I can't rewind, stop/play and forward my music while listening. When i used it on my n95 8gb it functions. What maybe the problem? Another problem is that it can't recognize other headset aside from nokia headset while my n95 8gb can recognized any headset even if it is not a nokia headset.

Great piece of work done by Nokia , I built a pretty good pc rig, guy came in my house, seen it liked it, this was little after i bought N8 ,he offered me a deal i couldn't refuse, the N8 can do so much just like a pc, I hooked it up to the HDMI of the 28 " screen i have with bluetooth keyboard & mouse . I'll build another rig for sure but it's just great having the N8 doing it all, my neighbours come over and they all love what the N8 has to offer, and 2 of which use android hehe.

True definition of smartphone to date = Nokia N8

When you tap Access point in browsers general settings you should have two options: Ask when needed and Internet.

Also, you can press options again and choose > Select access point. Another list will appear giving you all the APN's in your Destinations list. Choose your preferred one.

                      All the best.

Disregard what Slim said, it's not a virus. All it is, is an instruction to use your PC to update the phones firmware.
Connect your N8 to a PC via Ovi suite or Nokia Software Updater to see what updates are available, if any.

This same message was on my phone prior to updating to PR 1.1 but disappeared once I updated the firmware.

                              All the best.
