Took my N8 out of the silicone skin and realized the plastic bottom end was loose. Turns out one of the screw connections was broken, maybe when I dropped it a time or two. Solid construction overall but it's not indestructible. It has an Achilles heel. Be careful with your N8s people

symbian anna is not officially released. what someone referring here is the cooked firmware of some great people. so its up to you if you like anna now then flash it at your own risk or wait until august end

Yapp, no purple tint with Anna.
I flashed it with phoenix , the fw is from n8fanclub.com

Guys cheers, this leaked version of Symbian Anna has completely removed the purple tint issue from my Nokia n8. I have not found any bugs till now. Will keep posted if any bug found

Symbian Anna update is not yet availabl... morehello my friend, i can give you the link for symbian anna update if you wish (a chinese and english working version) just releaced today...but you need to flash ur n8 with phoenix while doing so....its all up to u if u want ANNA now...or you want it when it is officially releaced

But the tint is making movies look... morei did read about the purple screen....well its both a hardware and software issue....nokia manufacturers are using the same AMOLED screen that they use on other nokia which they offer Clear Black display...there is just a problem of colour calibration, but till now...nokia is not able to fix it through an update or software changes...they thus recommend to change the AMOLED screen (the hardware). well you spent a lot of money on it...but beware...you can get it to nokia and either return u as it is, or change the screen (and u may get a worse screen) or they mey tell you that they are not aware about this issue...or they can fix it (but it gona take some time)....its all up to u San

AnonD-13334, 09 Jul 20112 days ago i bought this phone it is awesome excellent came... morethe purple tint is not a great issue...it does not affect gaming...everyday use...or even does not affect the quality of movies if ur watching movies...it affect mostly your big clock screensaver...which u may change for other screensavers such as sleeping screen which is awsome....furthermore...you can download brightness control app....which may help you...but i would not advise you to use it...better leave the phone as it is instead of going here and there....at least ur not getting the "death phone" problem which hapened in the past

bt i got issues wid it it is having purple tint ...

AnonD-13159, 08 Jul 2011so u suggest n8 over se arc? as anna is going to roll out ... morei would advise you ti check with your nokia shop, as all new batch starting july 2011 are mounted with symbian anna....and all N8 will get the update by the end of august...its all up to you now...N8 is far better than SE ARC in terms on functionality, durability as well as its camera :)
