i need to know ! what is better for texting & facebook. Samsung Galaxy S or the Nokia N8. does the N8 have hanging problems ?

The purple screen problem that you guys r talkin about is not as big a problem as it seems... You'll get rid of it in less than an hour if u walk into a Nokia care centre. Even mine had that problem and i got my display changed in a Nokia care centre and now my phone doesn't have that problem... And the headphones are also perfectly fine, u just gottu insert it properly... Its a gud phone guys, u won't find another phone with so many features!

getting a phone on optus $29 cap . what one is better , Samsung Galaxy S or Nokia N8. use my phone for texting & facebook , thats all

ive bn usin my n8 since january n m t0tally in love wth ths f0ne. I have önly one prblm, the ovi s0cial app w0nt work. Ive dwnl0add many updates bt it stil gvs the same err0r "uninstall and reinstall c0mMunities" ive evn reinstalld the apP bt the erRor w0nt budge. Wat shud i do?

My N8's HDMI cap was already broken, I just notice this last night. I never thought it would easily break by just simply removing it from the socket. So sad :(

As it stands, the headphones have to be pushed in fairly hard for them to work correctly and given the fact I used the same amount of force to insert the 5800xm headphones led me and others to believe that the N8's headphones were faulty. Until that is, it was found to be necessary to use more force than is normally required when inserting headphones.

Ray, come on, you should know better. That's not a fix; That's actually the proper way of inserting it; all the way in.
Of course the headset won't work when it's only half way in.

First you need to put the pin properly,cos there are two grids to catch the 3.5mm audio jet(which means there should be 2 *snaps sounds*)when you plug in,because it can stop the music when you unplug your headphone and better voice transmission to the phone.So,try those again or ask the phone store,they might be able to show you,moreover,I saw some guys like you juz didn't put properly and juz complaining. Juz helping you guys,cheers...
P.S-juz put the headphone pin to the phone properly,there should be two*same snap sounds*
