Pre-historic, 15 Mar 2011That was a typographical error, you should read between the... morei thought the e7 was the most expensive nokia phone to date.

N8 cant beat wave? Haha, you make me laugh mate. Other than a 'better' super amoled and a faster processor, what else does the wave have over the n8?

Given that bada still lacks some ESSENTIAL apps and receives craptastic support from samsung, wave was a no go for me.

Hey man, the iphone 4g is one of the most expensive devices out there and it still receives very low ratings (6 to be precise)

and since when gsmarena's flawed voting system became a standard to judge a certain phone. Like i said it is way to easy for a NON-USER to vote 1.1.1 for a certain device.

Do tell in what way is symbian prehistoric or outdated? And no, UI is not counted since is a subjective matter.

And care to show the statistic where nokia receives the most complaints?

AnonD-695, 14 Mar 2011well for what i paid for the n8, is not just the camera. My... moreThat was a typographical error, you should read between the lines. This is the most expensive phone of Nokia to date. But along with it, you're buying the Purple screen defect of the phone. Users just feel betrayed. Nokia is falling down. Average 8.4 on the most expensive phone? It did not even match WAVE phone considering it is more expensive and latest model of Nokia. It's absolutely no match for an older model of SAMSUNG WAVE at a cheaper price and higher Performance Rate. How can it even compete with the latest models of Samsung. And with SYMBIAN OS THAT IS OBSOLETE AND PRE-HISTORIC, and defects seen by users, it wont be long this phone will have Performance 8.0 or below. SYMBIAN is no match for ANDROID. Nokia's latest phone is no match for the latest phones of other Manufacturers. Much more, Nokia has the most number of complaints, faulty phones.

The fact that we can still add in a 16GB microSD card makes HD media portable especially since the Nokia N8 has HDMI-out. And even without HDMI, I can still use the Nokia CA-75u cable (Nokia N95 TV-Out Cable that has the Video-AudioRight-AudioLeft analog output).

With the PR1.1 Update, editing 2010, 2007 and older versions of Office is now possible. And loading Adobe PDFs with large file sizes and tons of graphics are faster and with more fidelity with it updated to Adobe Reader 2.5.

I'm glad I did not wait for the Nokia E7 last year.

Very cynical about this phone, had the iphone 4, blackberry 9780 and blackberry 9800 all very good phone but the Nokia is the phone for me.... Its different to the others and a very under estimated phone by comparison! Symbian S60 i agree is over complicated and difficult to use sometimes but the hardware is cutting edge and superior to anything else on the market.

Thank You Nokia, and WELL DONE!

nokia released a memo worldwide regarding the amoled problem. They are now accepting repairs at all nokia care centers. Nokia centers here in the philippines are now accepting repairs. My friend's wife had the amoled problem, he left his wife's unit for a couple of days and when he picked it up, the unit's screen was normal. No purplish/reddish shade.

Pre-historic, 14 Mar 2011The thing is..if you're only after the camera of N8, it is ... morewell for what i paid for the n8, is not just the camera. My n8 also acts as my GPS unit, media hub, web browser, FM transmitter, and my casual entertainment device (games). With these plus with features like USB-OTG and HDMI, it is definitely worth my money.

"Just for instance this N8 which is the most expensive phone,"

Expensive? What, seriously? In malaysia an n8 is 2/3 of an average android device and 2X less than an iphone 4g.

"but the RATING goes down and down"

is just to easy to vote 1.1.1 for a device in gsmarena. Just look at how low the iphone 4g rating is.

And you dont expect me to lug a dedicated compact wherever i go, do you? What about those on the spot moments?

If you can find a camera which has wifi, gps, acts as a media hub, able to plug in pendrives, etc, i would eat my hat. If you cant, let me enjoy my n8

Okay. Enough with these debates. Who among you have sent your broken N8 to a Nokia Care for repair? I've heard they are already accepting warranted repair of N8's affected with this AMOLED problem.

AnonD-695, 13 Mar 2011ah but there's a catch, the n8 comes with a seriously huge ... moreThe thing is..if you're only after the camera of N8, it is nothing compared to a dedicated camera at the same price range. Right? With all the features of truly dedicated camera. N8 is built as a phone, not as a dedicated camera. Hence you should get what you paid for as a package and not simply due to the camera. Most Nokia admirers lost trust in Nokia in this matter. They feel betrayed because they don't get what they paid for. Just for instance this N8 which is the most expensive phone, the highest interest rate, but the RATING goes down and down, with lots of faults and defects being complained by users. You don't just go for camera alone. And N8 will never match a dedicated camera for the same price range.

people pay lot of money to buy this phone and get this piece of Sh!t. i doubt there are less that 50% defectless N8s out there.
Hey friends dont encourage others to buy phone if your phone has a defect. try to save others money atleast.
