Anonymous, 15 Mar 2011Don't blame Nokia for the purple screen defect! N8 display... moreSamsung is not responsible for faulty displayes. Samsung manufactures the display and the driver chip and sells the whole assembly together. In the first batch Nokia bought the whole package (screen+driver chip) from samsung and those were defect free displays. In the second batch, in order to cut the cose, nokia decided to buy only the screen from samsung and used Nokia's own custom designed driver chip. thats thy they are purple.

AnonD-695, 15 Mar 2011i thought the e7 was the most expensive nokia phone to date... moreIt does...you can vote 1.1.1, but you can also vote 10,10,10. And lets admit, Nokia is on top because the have the most number of sales, henceforth, they may have lots of viewers voting for 10,10,10, but isn't it funny that after all their numerous sales, the Performance is only 8.4 and still going down? The users are already frustrated with Nokia. For the past several years, their products remained the same. Faulty and full of complaints. If you check one by one the units of nokia, you will hardly find Performance of at least 8.0, usually they are below 8.0 and thats just below average. Nokia is no.1 in sales but not in Performance. Try to look for yourself, check their units. And now N8 is also defective, haven't Nokia learned? They keep on destroying the trust the users gave them.

UI is the most important element of a touchscreen OS. UI is not only about the graphical user interface but alongside it also comes UX or user experience. Symbian^3 is outdated because it uses the very same UI as found on the old S60 3rd edition phones. It is the only touchscreen smartphone OS right now that still uses 'softkeys' to perform most functions. Thus, the user experience also lags behind the other OSes. N8 is a fantastic device hardware-wise, save for those already known hardware defects. But its OS sucks and cripples the overall user experience. Yes, you've got tons of features but it's so boring to use. And it's also harder to build programs in native Symbian that's why Nokia decided to bring Qt to the picture. Symbian is outdated, really really outdated, not to mention that it's only a very lightweight OS programmed in basic C++. It shouldn't be the OS of choice of the so-called "mobile/multimedia computers." N8 would've been a far better device if it runs Android.

N8 cant beat wave? Haha, you make me laugh mate. Other than a 'better' super amoled and a faster processor, what else does the wave have over the n8?

Given that bada still lacks some ESSENTIAL apps and receives craptastic support from samsung, wave was a no go for me.

Hey man, the iphone 4g is one of the most expensive devices out there and it still receives very low ratings (6 to be precise)

and since when gsmarena's flawed voting system became a standard to judge a certain phone. Like i said it is way to easy for a NON-USER to vote 1.1.1 for a certain device.

Do tell in what way is symbian prehistoric or outdated? And no, UI is not counted since is a subjective matter.

And care to show the statistic where nokia receives the most complaints?

AnonD-695, 14 Mar 2011well for what i paid for the n8, is not just the camera. My... moreThat was a typographical error, you should read between the lines. This is the most expensive phone of Nokia to date. But along with it, you're buying the Purple screen defect of the phone. Users just feel betrayed. Nokia is falling down. Average 8.4 on the most expensive phone? It did not even match WAVE phone considering it is more expensive and latest model of Nokia. It's absolutely no match for an older model of SAMSUNG WAVE at a cheaper price and higher Performance Rate. How can it even compete with the latest models of Samsung. And with SYMBIAN OS THAT IS OBSOLETE AND PRE-HISTORIC, and defects seen by users, it wont be long this phone will have Performance 8.0 or below. SYMBIAN is no match for ANDROID. Nokia's latest phone is no match for the latest phones of other Manufacturers. Much more, Nokia has the most number of complaints, faulty phones.

The fact that we can still add in a 16GB microSD card makes HD media portable especially since the Nokia N8 has HDMI-out. And even without HDMI, I can still use the Nokia CA-75u cable (Nokia N95 TV-Out Cable that has the Video-AudioRight-AudioLeft analog output).

With the PR1.1 Update, editing 2010, 2007 and older versions of Office is now possible. And loading Adobe PDFs with large file sizes and tons of graphics are faster and with more fidelity with it updated to Adobe Reader 2.5.

I'm glad I did not wait for the Nokia E7 last year.
