wad is 3rd party apps? can gif example? but b4 this happen happen i can last 5 days but now it seems like i need to charge it everyday...i nvr use wlan b4 and open apps... wad happen help me!! and it doesnt blackout when i not using it..it keep show the home screen while the i lock the phone...help man

Hey. I am enjoying my N8 for about 1 and a half month. it is really excellent. I have the blue one. I dont know why the N8s here in the Philippines cost differently. based on colors. The blue one is the most expensive one. The black and the silver are the cheap ones. Anyway, Im so excited for the release of P.R. 2.0
I guess it will have the better browser, portrait qwerty, split screen, better gallery, more hd games( oh the apps in ovi store are growing, i mean more useful apps), landscape dialer, search for music, cached web pages with forward and backward buttons, configuration of view for functions,(grid and list), navigation using address from contact book, Bug fixes: WLAN search, the functionality of not saving the message for SMS, keyboard, pdates for email box, camera, homescreen, animation effects…

Did you say the new version of Ovi Maps has a compatible detailed map of Trinidad and other Caribbean countries? I like the new version with its pinch zoom and so on but I could not find a compatible map of Jamaica. So did the latest update really work for you? If so how?

1.)i think your gps is always open. disable all setting-application-postion method unchecked all if you not use your gps any time..
2.) offline widget menu-offline widgets
3.) set Wlan only
4.) Checked you 3rd party apps there's 3rd apps always open on your device or delete all 3rd party apps includind HI socially its automatic open on your device even see close applcation but app its produce heating on my device, so i delete all my 3rd party app, not 3rd party games...
The app with no problems to my device is
Friendchat,Nimbuzz,opera mini 10.1,battery monitoring,accurate weather
So if you want installed 3rd party apps i advice you installed in one by one observe first you installed another 3rd party app if there something buggs just delete immediately, do not installed and installed 3rd party apps..

among the mobiles i had used nokia n8 is the best... it is the latest and modelled phone.

d, 15 Jan 2011just got my n8 today and i must say it is a masterpiece. .o... moreuse opera mobile 10.1 it's much better
but i actually use the stock browser now
it's not as bad as the media says it is trust me
P2Z is a big help and flash as well
plus the page when finished loading looks alittle better on browser 7.2 then opera 10.1 IMO
can't wait for 7.3 or 8.0 browser wise

I having 1 problem is that my phone wont blackout when i not using it...it drang my battery..zzz can any1 help me? how to solve? and my batery nid charge everyday....when i buy this n8 in dec it can stand 5 days in power saving mode but now cant...it nid charge everyday...guys pls help T.T

bullzeye, 14 Jan 2011so what you are saying is that i should get a temporary mtn... moreYes. Test it with a mtn sim for the 1st 7 days. Dont change sp's until the 1st 7 days are over. After that you can decide to port if you want. Mtn is great. I ported from voda like 4 years ago and i'm happy with them thus far. Dont take out the plastic covers until the 7 days are over. Including the back camera plastic. The photos may appear slightly blurry but not too bad though with the plastic on the lens. I guess you're getting the black/grey colour then? I got the silver/white on voda. I would have liked the blue (or orange!) but you know the drill....we always slow in getting everything here! Hey btw, i got my current phone for 2 months now and going really well. 4 other guys got this as well at work after seeing my one and theirs are working just fine too. Must have been my bad luck with the 1st 2 phones.

It's a beautiful country (lower Kingston can be difficult though).

Mac, 14 Jan 2011You would lose your warranty for swapping sims from one sp ... moreso what you are saying is that i should get a temporary mtn sim and test everything on the N8 for the first 7 days to see if i cant find anything that is wrong with the phone and then i can put in the voda sim?
i dont mind switching because there is the MTN number for life so i can keep my number even if i switch from sp's.
i also like MTN more, free facebook and nice service.

Iphone 3G is old stuff!!! And Nokia C7is a cheap version of Nokia N8.So i think its worth paying some extra bucks for Nokia N8.But I am not saying just go and buy Nokia N8.Fist think what do you need ???

Just some info for those that use the fm transmitter. If you are transmitting music via the music player to a radio and prior to switching the transmitter on you had the music volume set to zero volume, mute or off; then when you switch the transmitter on without the volume on then the music doesnt play on the radio. If you switch the transmitter off and on it doesnt help. With the transmitter on it doesnt allow you to turn up the volume on the phone as displays 'use the volume on the radio' - something like that. Hence you have to turn the transmitter off. The music player will still be playing so turn up the volume and then now turn the transmitter back on. Hope this small info helps cos i panicked when my phone wasnt transmitting music.
