to sameh, b4 selling the memory card, put it in any card reader and format it thru your PC. you will loose all data on the memory card, but it should work after that. cheers...

          Hi,

          I am from Singapore.
I bought a N80 about 2 months ago.I called the Singnet helpdesk to confiqure my phone. The next month I recieved a bill for charges of $130.00 for using my phone as a modem.I do not use my phone to surf the internet or download. They also know that this volume that the charge me could not be used by the phone.

          Below is letter from Singtel.
"Please allow us to share with you that the 3G data service allows users to receive and send data via the handset. In addition, you may like to note that handset does have preset settings for connection to the internet either via a short cut or through the phone menu. This information was shared in the previous correspondence on 27 June 06.

We would like to take this opportunity to assure you that we have reviewed and confirmed that the charges in bill ID 0019 are valid."

Singtel which is the service provider has insisted that I pay for the bill but I have told them "NO WAY".

In Singapore, service providers are real big bullies and they push you till you have no choice but to pay.

Does anyone know how this could happened?

          Thanks

            To SoFtMc:

Thanks again! I tried downloading Opera it seems don't have that particular problem (crash and phone restart itself). Before you suggested Opera, I didn't know that I like Opera browser more than default Nokia browser, especially the ability to switch between fit-to-page and default feature. Unfortunately it is not free :(.

I will try to reformat my phone to factory settings and see how it goes.

            Thanks.

I agree with SoFtMc, that the symbian OS is a powerful Tool for those who only need it. The rest can go home with their SE hoping that one day SE will hire a good designer to modify their dull designs hahahahahahaha and the no hope functionality of their phones aaaaahaahahahahahahahahahah.

For crying out loud!!!. Why is everybody telling that this phone is slow!!!! Do you perhaps ignore the fact that this is a Symbian Phone?????????????
Do you perhaps ignore the fact that the Symbian is a total Operating System with huge amount of code!!!!!!!! And do you perhaps ignore the fact that your Microsoft Windows Operating System, the one you are using now is a lot slower after a month of usage!!!!!

IF you want a fast operating phone, Why did you get a symbian phone!!!! Go get something else and stay away from this post.

REMEMBER A SYMBIAN PHONE IS A PHONE TO BE USED BY THOSE WHO DEMAND EXPANDABILITY. THOSE WHO DONT HAVE A CLUE ARE BETTER OFF WITH A SE.

                      -------------------
Did you try to reformat the phone to the original factory settings?

I would also suggest that you install the mobile Opera Browser 8 on the phone and check to see. IF you are not getting any probs with Opera, then I'll suggest that you reformat the phone. If you still face probs even with Opera then tell me if you have installed other applications on your phones memory. IF yes, delete everything and install your apps on the memory card.

Can anyone tell how to set the GPRS and wifi RIGHT for me please!

I downloaded the setting for Cingular on Nokia website, but it cannot connect to GPRS. It just stop after 2-3 seconds trying to connect.

Samething happen to wifi connection. It stop after 2-3 seconds trying to connect. Seem like it doest even try to connect and just stop. And the 64bit wep security on N80 only let me enter 4 letters, but my security key has 10 letters why is that?

Thanks SoFtMc. Really appreciate that. I have a look at my firmware version and it has the latest (May version) - V 3.0617.0.6.

Whenever the browser is loading large images, it is likely to cause the phone to reboot itself. Don't know why.

N80 has a great package. Wi-fi,BT,IR and USB are perfect. Camera: no matter how many MP,on phones are always crappy (apart from the famous exceptions). This phone is easy to use, yet, can go alot further if needed (pity the alarms cannot be repeated and currencies in the converter cannot be updated thru internet). Apart from this, it hanged a couple of times while using the suite and wi-fi where the signal was weak and i was surfing and downloading emails. Batteries, for average use, to me last 2 full days. All in all, a perfect phone and u wont miss the much bulkier PDAs (unless u are a touch-screen freak).
