I didn't ask Nokia Aust about price. I'm not a student of phone prices, but using my understanding of their other products as a guide, I think the N70 started at around $A800/900. The 8800 is still >$A1000 (I know it's not the same kind of product). The 9300/9500 are >$A1000. So I'm expecting the N80 to start out at around $1000. I just can't see it being much less. Particularly as it seems it'd be >600 Euros - that's about $A960
Just my thoughts.

What do you guys think about the auctions going on now as we speak on ebay on the nokia n80? I see so many available and they're not out yet...

People, Let's try to get some rational thinking going here....Firstly, all handsets have to be "tested" locally for network compatibility and compliance. So retail availability will probably vary from country to country.
After reading all the "opinions" here, I decided to ask Nokia Australia for dates. I asked them for the "availability of the N80, N91 & N92 IN AUSTRALIA" - so it will likely be different elsewhere. Their reply was......

The N80 and N91 should be in store by mid May.
The N92 is still in testing with the carriers and therefore will not be in the AU market until late 2006/early 2007. Hope this helps.

I then asked them for the "availability of the E60, E61 & E70 - IN AUSTRALIA". Their reply was.....

All three handsets should be in store @end May/start June.

This was the information from the local Product Manager back on April 3, 2006. It could have chanced by now - who knows.

Did u guys notice that evryone is making false claims about the release date. Released today, rlsd tomorrow, rlsd day after blah blah blah...I sent a fax to Sumit Ralen who is the CTO of Nokia Finland and would update on the status as soon as I hear back.

N91 is already in my counrty BUT still under testing for the network,so far so good and i will be able to touch and use the phone for almost one as i know the G.M of the V.I.P of S.T which has the phone as said that he will give me the chance to have a closer look.
as for the N80,I'm still waiting for the reply from the NOKIA CARELINE,they said it take 48hs at most to reply,got nothing to do but to wait.

if you're sure that it will be out on 26th this month, then i should be expecting the N80 by the next week here NOT in markets but in the under testing network stage.

Beware that Nokia N80, its the non-working store display model, he's trying to scaming people. The N80 doesn't come out until late May. Ask him to send you a picture of the phone displaying something other then the main menu (he can't becuase thats all it can show).. trust me, i work at cingular wireless. Retract your bid. People are maken fun of you guys, i'm the only one trying to help them. check the link at the bottom of this message.

Worlock is not telling a truth. WOrlock can you give us the link of the store where u bought it from in Greece?
The reason I believe in Truthteller is that he was just trying to help us by requesting others not to come up with self created release dates. Ppl come and go on this site with the tall claims of owning N80 whereas noone really seems to have one. Very sad :(((

Hi Worlock, could you tell us what the N80 is like? Have you had any problems? I still can't decide whether to wait and get it or to just buy the Nokia 6280 now which looks pretty good.

Thanx, think O2 will release around that date too. They say May 06 and from past experience they release early and state delivery will take at least 5 days....
