We're not forcing everyone here to buy N82, it's a matter of personal preference. Now, if you'll ask me why i purchased N82? I enjoyed every single minute it's in my hand. The price fits my budget and it got all the features i need right now. I don't care what Nokia or other brands what has to offer in the coming months coz what matters is NOW! and right now it's the BEST for me, and i will enjoy it for the rest of the year, for sure.

k850i, n82, n95 8gb, viewty, g600...im gettin tired of all these whining about decent opinions and answers on online infos.... i have tried using all units except for viewty,(g600 is likeable, next to k850i), and im sayin n82 tops them all. no matter if 95 8gb has a biger screen, or all gotta 5mpix cam...n82 and k850i gotta xenon flash...
in the end...all that's gonna matter is your own opinion on whether you bought the right phone for your needs and lifestyle.
enuff with all the buggy questions...go buy your own phone and give us a review....

        @AGC

No harm done. I just want to avoid any misinformation because a lot of people here are distorting facts which does not help potential buyers/users. As much as possible let us make the facts clear and try to be objective. And if you're to make a claim make sure to back it up wirh evidence not just pure hearsay or biased personal opinion.

        Cheers!

            To ibfj
Yes I agree that this phone is a fantastic phone however... this is my opinion. Whether its the best or not is relative. This phone is one of the best phones I've owned from microsoft. I'm thinking about going get the N95 but I'm not sure after using on trial for a month. I like the big screen but its gonna be the only sole factor in buying this. I really dont care for the slide as I never liked slide phones.... I've got an N80

            @ Raydon...
Most symbian phones allow sisx installers.

To all prospective N82 buyers. There is a possibility that there will be a N82 black and white version to be coming out in Feb. The only thing is that I'm not sure whether its going to be released in APAC, EMEA or US.

                    @ Nokia FanBoy

I'm not positive, but I think you may be referring to my comment about the memory issue. what i was saying was that IF you do drop/break/smash your n95 8gb and it no longer works. whatever you had saved is GONE. even if you can get the phone repaired, be assured it will not come back to you with any of your files on it. now the advantage of a removable 8gb card seems clear: the phone breaks (terrible tragedy that DID happen to me with my N95-3)and you can simply remove the memory card and still access the data via your pc (or your next nokia). it happened to me and i was sooo happy i was able to remove the memory and save all the pictures, videos, etc. i had saved on it. hopefully that makes sense. if your comment wasn't in fact directed at my comment, my bad.

                    cheers

                      I'm the "person". :)

No doubt with bluetooth headset music navigation can be done, but I was just comparing what can be done out of the box. :)

N82 is indeed a not just good but fantastic phone, it's just not *The Best*. ;)

To the person whose comparing the music navigation on th eN95 and N82... I have no real problems navigating.... If any of you can afford it.... buy yourself a pair of bluetooth A2DP headphones... I have a DRBT-50 from Sony which cost me a about 100quid. you can change the track by just flicking a switch... Damn the phone can be in your ruck. battery lasts for about 17hours streaming time on the headphones. If you can afford the phone then you should even be able to afford the SDHC 8gb and bluetooth headfones. and to all who complain about this phone stop y'all whining. Design is to you own taste, don't force your opinion on others. As long as the its intuitive that a monkey can use it.

Here is someing you new for all new N82 or N95 people out there. I have just tested this with qik.com.... for those who do not know this... It is possible to stream live video from your device directly to the web. If you have wireless lan then there is now extra cost.... Or if you have unlimited dataplan.

So here is a links for great tools.
http://qik.com/ and for direct upload of fotos to sites like facebook or blogger http://www.shozu.com/portal/

Check it out!!! Hope you have as much as me...

I wonder if SE K850i can stream live video???? *NOT* hahahahahaha another notch on nokia's belt.

I'm the one who wrote the comments below yours, hope you're not relate the internal 8GB breaking thing to me, as I didn't mention about it. :)

Somehow I agree about the price of N82, the price dropped really fast, while N95 8GB still maintain its value despite it's been launched for 2~3 months.

To the one who mentioned about the internal 8gb flash memory breadking are you a tech guy? Flash memory is not as sensitive as micro hard drives such as in the N91. It won't break unless your drop the phone in which case any phone would be damaged anyway.

Forget about Xenon flash thing. Let us focus on some facts about the N82:

                                1. Poor battery life
                                2. Dim screen
                                3. Horrible keypad (including its dirty cheap material)
                                4. Longer and thicker than most candy bar phones (for a non-slider model it is indeed thick)
                                5. Price plummets real fast
                                6. Rear plastic cover's quality is damn cheap.
                                7. Media player issues (Its not bug-free as advertised by most of you)
                                8. Speaker location sucks

For those who think N82 beat up N95 8GB, consider the following:

N82 can't manage music player on the fly cause no music key. Particulary useful when you use the phone as walkman, with N95 8GB, you just need to slide, press a key, and slide to close position (hell, you don't even need to take out the phone or look at it). N82 you need *unlock keypad*, go to music player, press a key, exit, and *lock keypad*.

N82 can't share photo or watch video like N95 8GB do cause 2.8" is really big difference. Not that N82 can't view photo or video, but if you want to share with many people, you'll know big screen always helps. Also, you have to hold phone closer to you to watch video, while N95 8GB you can rest your hands on the table.

N82 can't play landscape n-gage mode according to n-gage website. Within 5MP camera family, ONLY N95 8GB can do landscape n-gage gaming.

N82 can't play music as loud as N95.

N82 can't do editing as fast and convenient as N95 cause dead simple - NO PEN KEY.

Whether Xenon flash alone (and better night photos due to less noise reduction during high ISO setting) worth the exchange with all above, you do the judge. N95 8GB is more expensive, so do when you include the expense of buying an 8GB microSD card with the N82(especially if you want to prevent impact on the card you need to buy a good quality card, which is, even more expensive).

So between both, no one wins. N82 for camera lover, and N95 8GB is multimedia lover. Just that simple.

My first day with it, I took my N82 to Disneyland. This is the best phone I may ever own and maybe one of the greatest phones ever made. I don't care if people hates the looks. Holding it in my hands, I think it is a real underrated gem. I kept the thin layer plastic on. No hangups yet. Reception is fantastic. Nokia 6230 was a legendary phone and it was beloved not for its looks. I feel bad for people who judge this on the outside and can't see the real "viewty". Really missing out. This phone took better pix than my Sony W55 today, esp the dark scenes.

I have had the N82 since beginning of December and it is Gr8! Camera and video is amazing, very clear and sound quality is very good!!Battery lasts 3 days, which is alot better than the original N95. In my opinion, there is no phone out there that comes close to meeting the specs of this phone other than N95 8GB,although this has xenon flash and expandable memory
