lol ....... i dont know y many people are complaining abt battery life of this phone ......... i bought this fone on tuesday and charged it ......... and since then i have charged the phone yesterday (friday night) ....... in between many ngage sessions and music playback and numerous software installations and uninstallations ....... so i must say the battery life is excellent for a symbian phone ....... and my one is made in China .......

if ur battery life is a problem then perhaps ur battery is either faulty or u didnt charge the phone fully at initial setup or kept on running wlan scanning with 3g on ....... or perhaps u have used the phone 24 hours straight widout any rest .......

and many people are comparing n85 with n82 or n95 ...... let me get the facts straight ...... each phones are targetted differently ...... there is no better phone overall ....... like

      1. For best camera --- N82 ..... if u r camera freak, buy this one, N95.

      2. For best audio ---- 5800 expressmusic, N85, N81

      3. For best gaming ---- N85, N95, N82, N81

      4. For best display ---- N85, N80, N95

Each phone is targetted at different markets and so u shud buy a phone dat meets ur purpose ....... like N85 is a pura multimedia phone ..... if ur r music and game freak and love to see videos on phone ...... N85 is the best non-touch screen phone for u ...... if u are camera freak, N82 is the best for u ...... every phones has some problems 2 ...... like the display of N82 sucks with bad keypads ...... N85 somewat sucks at night camera shots ...... both N82 and N95 have poorer audio quality than N81, N85 etc etc ....

so u must buy the phone dat meets ur needs best ..... otherwise u will b dissatisfied ........

abt OLED screens ...... OLED screens have approximately 5 years lifetime ....... but we dont know for sure which manufacturing tech Nokia has used in N85 ..... so we cant say exactly abt the lifetime ........ but i know it is very difficult to use a single mobile for 5 years or more ...... unless u r happy wid basic calling features for a mobile phone like Nokia 1110, u r bound to replace a phone every 2 or 3 years ...... its psychological ..... Nokia knows this very well .....

Anonymous, 14 Jan 2009N79 is obviously better then n85 because: the display of ... moreOLED is far superior to standard LCD - especially seeing that the n79s screen is smaller.
OLED screen do have a shorter life- (if your WHOLE screen is running the colour blue for 2 years non stop, they will wear out). The average life of a mobile is far shorter than this.

I am still quite worried as to if I should get this phone or not, I mean I have been a Nokia fan, but u don't expect anything to be wrong with the phone when you are paying close to $600 for it. When I read reviews, I don't really feel encouraged because theres always people having some or the other problem, no doubt there are also people saying good things about the phone too. I guess with the "Made in China" brand it all comes down to luck.

I am pretty cynical about shelling out 600 hard earned bucks, when u dont know wats it gonna be like....

Any opinion about buying the phone will be highly appreciated. Is it really worth taking the risk?

                        Thanks in anticipation
