Bought N96 when it first came out. Used it for 3 weeks, sold it and bought N85. Happiest person alive now.

                Reasons:
                1) N96 buttons are so difficult to press when making phone calls or SMS. N85 have much better feel to it. N96's buttons are too flat, always press wrong button.

                2) N96 keypad is not flush with the side plastic panel. Pressing "*" or "#" faced some problems. Need to use finger tips. N85 is much better.

                3) N96 has a cheaper feel to it. N85 feels better, not as plastic. N85 has a slightly heavier feel to it.

                4) When the phone is closed, on the N96, where the answer, cancel, hang up, menu buttons are, they also add in the silly play, forward, rewind buttons. They already have when you slide it the other way. So not sure why they need it near the scroll buttons.

                5) N85 has a FM transmitter.

                6) N85 has 2 types of charger: charge from home outlet or from laptop. N96 has 2 types of charger: car and home outlet charger. I would like a car charger for N85 which I'm sure will come out eventually.

End of the day, I will go for N85 any day. N96 has only the TV function, which is useless in most places.

I guess the only missing thing it lacks and I'd love to have in it: FM Recording. My TV has FM Transmitting system...if my phone recorded FM I would record practically everything I Wished....sad

i want to buy this phone for a different experience, a slider form factor being a fan of candybar ever since. the amoled is a bunos as well as fm transmiter and the fp2, i find the interface very attractive base on the youtube videos i watch.

im very excited on this phone hoping to buy it by january

The N85 looks a Greart mobile but people will have to decide who have the N95 8gb mobile is it worth upgrading to the N85,i had the N85 for a day an o.k the screen an the slide are alot better, but the speakers are not as loud an you do not really see much difference in the menus,so i decide to keep my N95 8gb instead as i am sure near the end of November to early December Nokia will announce there first 8 mega-pixel camera mobile as they want to show Samsung an Sony Ericsson they are still the leaders in mobiles,so you either get the N85 or wait an i am going to wait instead

Package look cheap, as s;ide phone it kind of not build solid like N95. The push bottom are not as easy to use and back cover is also not build solid. It happen to also own N79 and INNOV8. They both much better than N85. I will wait for Nokia 5800 and then change N85 to Nokia 5800.
