Dani , 13 Sep 2008and im sorry to say this N85 will probably have worst quali... moreFirst of all, Focal length doesnt determine image quality.
Secondly, mobile-review.com and smape.com have done reviews of the n85 and they confirm that it has the same picture quality as the n95 or n82 or n79.
Finally, even though its a mid range phone, the n85 can give phones like the n96 and innov8 a run for their money as it has a few things that both flagship phones dont have.

The Nokia N96 doesn't deserve the title Nokia's 'flagship', because it offers barely anything better than whats on the Nokia N95. It using an ARM9@264MHz instead of ARM11@369Mhz, I would go a Nokia N85 any day! The only thing that I can see the N96 has over the N85 is DVB-H TV broadcast receiver.
By the way, my mate has a Nokia N95, which of course has a ARM11, and he overclocked the core from 322MHz to 469MHz. That's a 147MHz overclock. Not bad for a phone.

since N85 will have a smaller focal length size then N95 and N82
K850i is still on top of the 5 MP Phones..
Samsung INNOV8 is the best ALL ROUND MULTIMEDIA DEVICE coming to the market!!!
C905 and Xperia X1 are both hits ..
Nokia hasnt made anything like Xperia X1 yet..im talking touchscreen ..

N85 is a mid-range phone
N96 is the Flagship
N79 is the mid-range
so dont you dare compare this N85 will INNOV8(the new KING) or C905
yeah the N85 is a Nokia WOW LOL!
theres so many other phones to choose from other companies.
i mean please get a Sony Ericsson and then youl take my words for it there EXCELLENT and COMPLETE PHONES!

just think more broadly ..theres so many phone brands to choose from!!!!!

i have just read some where N85 dont have good sound quality as much as N81 or N91 ! WTF ! i hope its not true ! coz i wanna buy this phone !!!!!!!!!!!!

Take a look at standalone digital cameras. Most people who buy cameras buy those with 5 megapixels. The same thing will happen with the mobile phones. One of the reasons n95's camera became so popular is because 5 megapixels was the bridging point between mobile phones and standalone cameras. This is why people are asking themselves if 8 megapixels is really necessary.
To the guy below,
The number of megapixels does not determine the quality of a picture. Its all about how the software handles the processing and the size of the lens.

LG do fancy nice packaging with low quality and nothign insdie the phone to talk about. Samsung they need to start to know how package the phone beside using Al. Looks so bad and cheap with alto of Battery life problem. I tried 2 times and both times I end up selling the phoen after oen week. Nokia by far is head in quality and applications. Only I wish they would catch up with touch screen. I would like to see Nokia bring somehing like Omnia make by Nokia quality and Sony G900 Idea with Nokia idea and quality. I hope coming soon.

What part for Specifications tell me it has a better Camera beside how many mega pixcel. Confuse buy a higher pixcel but still not as good as soem of the phone with lower pixcel. Can someone answer me? Thanks

Arnold, 12 Sep 2008Well im a big nokia fan... ive been through most of the n s... moreyou are asking if 8 megapixel is really necessary. i was also asking 2 years ago when rumors about a 5mp n95 were just spawning, if 5 megapuxel was necessary. and the answer is yes! mobile photography does not stop at 5mp only. today, mobile phones do not only mimic digital cameras but they are trying to replace stand alone digital cameras. in 2009, 8mp camera phones will dominate the market for sure. and i'm also certain that it will not stop there.

Arnold, 12 Sep 2008Well im a big nokia fan... ive been through most of the n s... morethis phone would be perfect if it had xenon flash? so your basis of a perfect phone is the inclusion of a xenon flash only. even nokia n82 that has a powerful xenon flash is far from being a perfect phone. for me, a perfect phone should have a high quality screen, long battery life, high quality build, dedicated sound chip for high quality sound, external hardware media & gaming keys, latest & improved user interface, 5mp camera with photo & video light. and n85 is more close to being perfect than n82.

Well im a big nokia fan... ive been through most of the n series phones and i like the n82 the best... well this n85 seems to have quite a lot of features... if it had xenon flash it would be the perfect phone... Samsungs i8510 is very good... but is the 8 mega pixel camera really necessary?? i mean 5 mega pixel takes crytal clear pics as it is... they r just tryin to say they have a better camera than nokia... but i know nokia will rise to meet the samsung i8510... its just a matter of months.. Well SE to me sucks... They r not user friendly... too much button pressin.. and they also have small displays... they only have loud playin music.. thats all... Nokia rules.. im gonna get an N79 to try it out when its released..

go in SE section not here. we don't need people using cheap mediocre phones here. Nokia phone are for people with good taste.
