Saurav, 13 Dec 2010How can we format our N900.1. Download and install latest version of flasher for N900 in your PC
2. Download the latest firmware .bin file for N900 and save it where you have installed the flasher
3. Ensure the battery is fully charged
4. Switch off the device
5. Open command prompt from your windows PC and change the directory to where you installed the flasher
cd "%ProgramFiles%\maemo\flasher-3.5"
6. Hold the u key on the N900 keypad and connect the USB cable at the same time
7. Run the following command from your PC
flasher-3.5.exe -F -f -R
for example:
flasher-3.5.exe -F RX-51_2009SE_20.2010.36-2.004_PR_COMBINED_004_ARM.bin -f -R
The flash will take approximately 2-5 minutes after which the N900 will reboot and display the Welcome Screen with Regional settings. After booting, you may use the backup utility to restore your settings.

after six month it died! i took it to the nokia center and they said the mainbord is out of order because of water... and when i said i have kept it safe they said it might be because of humidity of the weather ... $700 gone ! easy! i dont recommend it

Its a cool gadget ever. though its sound is not as loud as the 5800. and the icons are scattered inside the menu.

Two questions on the nokia n9000, can you send and receive mms's and does the fm radio work for loacal statios - in SA? i tried to call the nokia customer support centre and kept get cut off

Hi,
I've newly bought N900 and my PH is giving some problem. If I click on Contacts to view the contact, it opens the newly added contacts for a fraction of seconds then gives an error message "Internal Error: application Contacts closed". If I go to other XYZ applications of my handset then also I get this error message. Can someone tell me how to troubleshoot this concern. I've contacted Nokia Ph Support it is pathetic. Also, I want to know the issue which I am facing is because of some virus or problem with software.

i wanna use yahoo messenger and msn but i can't log in to any of IM accounts..i've already installed pidgin ..when i click sign in nothing happens..can you help me with this problem..BTW what connection are you using..??i'm using vodafone mobile connect.

... moreHardik if u have a back up saved then try to backup ur phone or if u want i can email u my backup files. Probably that would do.

Got my N900 since a few days but the problem is when receiving a call, it doesn't display the caller nor gives the option to take the call! Unless I open the keyboard, or flick the lock switch at the end!
How can I solve that problem…!?

My N900 started rebooting constantly since last night..
I googled for it & found that many people faced this problem.
In one solution, It was written that i need to run flasher (by downloading it from maemo.org) from PC on my N900 through USB cable.. I am trying it now.
Has anyone here faced this issue before? if yes, what solution u deployed?
Off course, Nokia customer care is the last option for me..

thanks dude.my problem now is video calling.i trei... moreyou are mistaken, it does have a physical RAM of 256 mb but its also the first phone to have a virtual RAM and that too of 768mb making the total RAM of " 1 GB "...
even the most expensive smartphones have only 512 mb RAM but this one has 1 gb
