I had fun using my Nokia N900, especially while using skype thru this CP. I could also connect on web even faster than using my computer. I rate this as 4.8 while 5 is the highest.

Friends i have problem with my n900..... i can't sign in my yahoo messager.... do any one has solution for that ...my id is on ymail.com domain is this because of that but before i was working

I have been using N900 for last 8 months now, battery is average, to increase the battery time, decrease the display brightness to minimum. and put Wlan in auto-off mode.
I rate this phone 4.5 stars on scale of 5 stars.
pros - awesome number of features and functionality..has FM transmitter which very useful in playing songs while you are in your car
cons - slight thicker other smartphones. and battery runs faster than other smartphones.

Hello All,
I noticed this one thing regarding youtube videos on N900. When I played one particular video by opening it on youtube site itself, it was being played perfectly.. Then I downloaded the same video through my laptop & copied it to my N900. I played back the same by opening it through media player of N900.. But surprisingly, N900 was not able to playback this video..
I then searched on net abt the problem but nothing found useful..
Then I found a youtube video to other video formats converter & converted the video i downloaded earlier.. it was then working fine.. i could'nt understand why this problem occured but somehow, i resolved it..

select the output file format as DivX while converting.
also, like others, i had impression that youtube videos are in .flv format. But they are NOT..

Hey All.
I have decided on the Nokia N900 with my phone upgrade at the end of the month, but the only negative thing I hear about the phone is about the battery. Is this the case?
Is there a way the battery can be upgraded to a better version? I've asked my network, but the people behind the desk is pretty useless.
Any advise will be much appreciated. Thanks.

Regarding talk time, its hard to measure accurately so we have to rely on the specification provided by nokia (U can find fegures regarding talk time on this site also)..
For battery Back up, Our Frnd Rajesh Dwivedi has already given answer.. I m requoting his words :
"battry life on average usage is one and a half day.."

Anonymous, 17 Nov 2010editing documents, sure, with easy debian you get a fulll v... morethank you for the advise sir...i did consider the milestone but motorola phones are actually hard to find in our country due to financial problems in their company...i also looked for opinions about htc and found most issues about the slow response and not very user friendly keyboard...the only thing that worries me right now is if i would have problems installing 3rd party apps on the n900 cause other users said they "bricked" their units while trying to install those apps

emil, 17 Nov 2010hey guys i just want some advice about the n900. i actually... moreediting documents, sure, with easy debian you get a fulll versiobn of openoffice, making n900 the most powerful doc editor, but as with iceweasel, it is not touch optimised and is not so fast on N900.
a faster alternative is to install FreOffice, but i dont know how good this is, hope someone else here can tell us about it. I wouldnt be surprised if there are better alternatives for android. You might want to check that out and den look at a milestone2 or htc desire Z.

Anonymous, 17 Nov 2010does this phone run java based web sites? pls helpyes it runs java websites but onli by installing easy debian and using the Iceweasel browser. Iceweasel is Debians version of firefox, is the same thing, but easy debian apps r not optimised for touchscreen and since its a full pc version it will run a bit slow on N900.

hey guys i just want some advice about the n900. i actually dont know much about linux or any other open source OS...i was thinking of buying this phone as a substitute for a netbook, mostly for documents, ebooks and internet...would this be suitable for me?
