Rajesh Dwivedi, 25 Feb 2011Hi Ganpat, Well i m unable to understand y this applicat... moreHope you got sygic maps 10 working in your N900 by now. If it is not activated, you would need to use the command in the terminal after going in as root.
                      $perl modifica.pl
this file should be there in the root when you had copied the sygic maps application installation folders from the torrent you downloaded.

The reason why those maps didnt work for you was because the maps are for V9 and it doesnt work for V10. I faced that problem when I migrated from V9 to V10 till i used the V10 maps.

For the V10 india maps along with many other countries, you can download this torrent

                      http://thepiratebay.org/torrent/5877630/Sygic_Mobile_Maps_10.16_Maemo_With_world_Collection_Of_Maps-gale

                      Hope this helps! Have fun!

Simply the best pc/phone device that money can buy. Total freedom.
Removable battery makes it a killer. Dont mind the weight considering the ability of doing everything on planet earth.

The N900 is not worth what you pay for i have had 5 since my update last year! I took care of it all the time and now itis mot available for repair as they don't stock the parts i recommend to anyon not to buy the N900 for the amount you psy it isn't worth the price i'm horrified by it and annoyed as i can not update or replace it!

AnonD-14587, 06 Dec 2011Hi Th3D, I did try resistive touch phones like Nokia 580... morei too had only capacitive phones after the N900, but they are not that much better, for example in selecting text for copy/cut the N900 is better than both my capacitive android fones. I wish the spiral gesture of the Maemo browser had worked better, its not sensitive enough/doesnt zoom fast enough, thats why the pinch-to-zoom on capacitive fones seem so much better. I used volume button to zoom on the N900.

For fast scroll on N900 i kinda liked the kinetic scrolling, where 3-4 fast fingers would scroll at an impressive speed in for example chat threads, something that none of my android fones supports. But ofcors android can use the 2 finger fast scroll, just that it would be a great understatement to call it inaccurate. U cant easily find what you are looking for in a long thread using two finger scrolling, and my HTC dont even have that kinda scroll, but my xperia does.

The N900 has some good ui advantages, like the kinetic thingy, and for example the use of the proximity sensor to bring up select mode, very handy, and i didnt know my N900 had that before i had used it for more than half a year ahah.

I did try resistive touch phones like Nokia 5800 Xpress Music & the touch of N900 is way better than that..

My view was in comparison with the capacitive touch phones available in the market today.

Try any capacitive touch phone (SGS2, HTC sensation etc) & U will come to know why I wrote "TOUCH" was the only bad experience of N900.. :)

                              Have A Gr8 Day.. :)

Some clocks may work while others may not. In my case my N900 works perfectly fine with clock set to a modest 805MHz and using the ideal voltage profile preset. I do have kernel power v49 installed which enabled me to run at 805 with smart reflex enabled. I have battery patch installed. So I have used the following settings for the overclock profile and I've downclocked to 600MHz for the underclock profile.
