i dont think the need to prove that UI is good or bad is necessary, look at all those hands on videos posted on youTube, there more than impressive enough even to an iPhone user like me.

But phones that do what iphone does are extreeemly common for quite while now, with the symbian UIQ OS for touch, yet noone cared ab it.
It's mainly well advertised and surrounded by apple worshipers but other than that... nothing new under the sun.

And just to make things clear. I am not here to hate on the N900. I think it's device to look out for. I just think it's silly of some Nokia fans to say that this phone is better than the iphone when it's not yet released, that's all.

As for iPhone, expensive toy, small screen... an ordinary phone with nothing special.

And hello, before the iphone, your Nokia N series only had 2.8 screens for web browsing, so please. It's only now that Nokia has been releasing a lot of phone's with screens over 3.0 inches. Something that Nokia only utilized on their E series flagship in the past.

If you go to a website w/ a youtube video link, you do not have to close that page and open youtube app. All you have to do is touch the video clip and the iphone will automatically direct it to its youtube app, and when the video is over, it takes you back to the web page automatically. And yes, the iphone can open multiple web pages at the same time, something that the N97 cannot do.

What's the point in browsing if each time you find a video, you have to get redirected to youtybe and get the link, then start another app to load the video and... you get the picture.
Also knowning the fifference between an open source OS and a phone OS... not much that apple will let you do on their device.
Over here we might be nativley runing windows 7 once it's released.
Does iphone have tabbed browsing at least?

You can't simply say that a device is better than another just by looking at the specs. You need to actually experience it first.
I don't like its zooming gesture. It's wiggley. And the flash support does not load youtube videos as fast as the iphone youtube app, so what good is that? It stalled in one of the demos.
I'd wait for this phone to be released before I would say that it's better than the iphone 3gs.

this phone seems great..hope it would have the same stability in its OS as the iphone
i am a nokia user and lately i am suffering "out of memory issues", bugs, crashes and every pain in the as*
maybe the big processor speed in this phone would help solve those things..i hope it would satisdfy me when i get my hands on it:)

hmm? how long will it take for Nokia to deliver my pre-order.. cant wait to flaunt this to my colleagues here:) Most of us have iPhones and were starting to talk about N900, they were hoping for it to get subsidized by TMobile at least and the realization of Comes With Music plan to push through here in US by January. More 3D games as well!
N900 is my Best phone at the moment, iPhone is 2nd then Blackberry Bold.

Nokia N900 is capable of playing full-size Divx/xVid videos out of the box -- no conversion needed, and no additional applications to purchase. That’s awesome, and something that really makes this device stand out as the ultimate media consumption device.

Nokia N900 make multitasking easy, but it also supports live multitasking. This means if you have a video playing (or a file downloading) in one application, you can switch to the task manager and see everything still running. It’s alot like the new Aero Preview in Windows 7, and we love it.
