compare it with samsung i8910. don't know what these nokia fans are talking about. perfection? see that phone which is released two months ago and compare it with what nokia has just announced. see the perfection of technlogy in i8910. with already amoled screen and HD video recording. samsung will beat the 2010 with another amazing phone and you nokia fans will still be happy by these old technology phones.

There's one unmatched thing about this phone: the OS. While this can run Maemo apps, it can run Android ones as well for example, while Android-phones are locked to only Android apps... see my point? THIS IS FREEDOM.

This phone is near perfection... but not entirely perfect. Obviously no phone is that, but this phone doesn't lack in too many areas. Take a look at the post below, that is ALL it lacks (and eventually an optical touchscreen with multi-touch if fanboys really care).

                              @People

No phone is perfect. Here are some possible improvements to the N900, but it's already great as it already is:

                              - Digital compass (if N900 doesn't have it already)
                              - USB3.0-port (not Micro or Mini, full backwards compatible with USB2.0, with USB host-functionalities)
                              - Bluetooth 3.0
                              - HDMI1.3-port (along with DNLA)
                              - 12MP camera (with 3x optical zoom and possible HD video recording, already leaked by Carl Zeiss)
                              - OMAP3640 1GHz Cortex-A8 (to enable HD video recording, draws even less energy than the 600MHz Cortex-A8 due a smaller semiconductor manufacturing process)
                              - 3,8 inch AMOLED touchscreen (with the same resolution and the same type of touch)
                              - 1850mAh battery (since it's already availible in small format for phones, and it's a significant improvement over the older one, and considering it'll have a more power efficient CPU too, this will make a huge difference)

Nokia did a Big mistake in n900......?
yes, The battery..BL-5J...(same as nokia 5800 music)
why nokia dont put the BP-4L battery on 'this LEGEND'.
BCOZ, BP-4L is the most powerful battery nokia ever had in mobile world.....what a mistake.

why people always want capacitive screen and multitouch ? capacitive screen may look pretier but with the only input method restrict to finger, precision of input is greatly reduced compapred to stylus on resistive screen. not to mention we don't always have bare hand in many cases such as gloves for cold winter, and while working on things that require glove on the hand.

multi touch to me is more of a compensation of the finger only capasitive screen because finger input can be less precision. if interface is is designed good enough I don't see the neccesity of multitouch.

because iPhone use it does not mean it is the best nor it suit everyone. there are people who preffer real qwerty, some like T9, other love the capability of using stylus. please stop saying that no capasitive screen+ multi touch = backward lousy phone or lack of technological capacity.

Nokia may not be doing their best but they are not idiot. the real idiot are those who blindly follow the "trand" without thinking deeply.

Dd, 29 Aug 2009Unlike other buyers I want to hear the bad sides of n900... moreResistive screens are basically made of layers on top of each other, which is why they need a stylus or something hard to force pressure on it (so the phone registers the input).

data entry tends to be more precise. So it's not that the screen is necessarily more precise, but the tool used on it is.
                                      -------------------------

Capacitives are known for gorgeous displays with fuller, more vibrant color, but users input data using a finger, which isn't too exact.
