guys, stop fighting as you are nokia and se brand-owners,you don't have anything to win.nokia n93 is very good for only big one reason:vga video rec at 30fps,mpeg4.any photo camera have in movie mode optical zoom, night mode and stereo sound, even most advanced nikon or canon!!!! so if you want to make short party movies go for n93.in rest choose anything smaller like n80 wich make excellent photos for amateurs and good mpeg4 cif video.or se k800

Big, heavy, stupid, ugly, and expensive!!!

I've been using Nokia for half of my life and never satisfy. Every new and modern mobile phone they reliesed always has disadvantages. I'm tired of waiting for a good and stable phone from Nokia. They just don't know how to make a GOOD mobile phone.

As far as Im concerned... gsmarena is the only site that has the infamous noise in the N93 pics, maybe they got a faulty one. Ive seen like 5 different comparisons in different sites and the camera quality is pretty much alike. Id buy N93 cause ive found over the years that Nokias are more reliable than Ericsson and SE phones, theyre just disposable... :s

This phone is OLD Technology compared to Sharp 903SH and Sharp 904SH
903SH has been out for 1 year and Nokia N93 about 1 week and 903SH is still better

903 does not have the firmware faults and Slow slow menus that the Symbian Nokias are FAMOUS for!

Dont get this Brick... get a Sharp 903

We are reading these opinions only because we love gadgets. If you are lucky enough to be able to change your smartphone every 3 months, most of us will envy you.

I know that in order to keep up with the latest gadget, you will have to change it very often. But you have to choose…

I change my smartphones every two years. I only start reading the forums 3 months before, so I don’t feel bad with my current phone nor with my new phone. My first smartphone was a 9500, now I am using a 7610 and I love it, even though the camera is very poor. I understand that the primary task of my smartphone is to be my PDA, my memory and I take the camera as un upside.

Now I think that the camera of the N93 will be more than an upside, and am very happy that it will be the most complete smartphone today with a very good camera. Like someone wrote in the forum, if you want only a phone, you might find something better, if you want a better camera, look for a canon dedicated camera…

Zeferino, my bad. I just came from a mobile phone store and i was very, very, very close to buy the E70. Your positive and to the point answers kept me from using my mastercard :P. I do not know, i would not want to trash the A.M edition on a daily basis, but if you say that N93 will not replace a phone used hardcore I still have to decide if i want the N93. I know i am annoying but many people bought very expensive phones and ended up repairing them more than using them :P. I'll keep an eye here and tell my girlfriend to hide my mastercard so i wont buy the E70 yet :P

The wifi like all the recent nikias work extremely well. I am only surprosed that the PDA's dont with wifi dont work as well as the nokias. So far I have not spoken long enough to feel the heat, but I suppose the heat is there if you speak long enough, but if you mean heat for no reason , heavens no ! Have not tried the tv-out yet , but will do so at the weekend, watch this space for more info. No problems so far with the files, not that I have much to do , but the hinge, rock solid. Your last question , N93, we may have started off badly, but since you mention the Aston Martin version, then the N93 cost is irrelevant anymore. But for those who want to really know, well you must be able to affiord it, as it cannot be your main phone in the long term. This is a gadget , you want a phone , I dont have to tell you where to get one, but my best phone, just phone ok, is the Samsung E900.

I totally agree with what ~ELT~ is saying! This is a real huge problem with Nokia-- they keep on releasing phones with more advanced features SLOWLY over the months. I know this is marketing so that users are left dissatisfied and uncontented with their CURRENT smart phones. Take me for an example, I just bought my N80 2 weeks ago, and now that the N93 is available I just wana sell it... even if it's the "jack-of-all-trades phone with a 3 mega pixel camera... but now I cant really logically decide on what phone to buy after I sell my N80... because you know why.. I’ve noticed I’ve been TOO FORGIVING of Nokia. I'm cashing out hundreds of hard earned dollars, honestly expecting at least a decent camera smart phone (the one that will perform as expected to, in a real sense) but in the end, when I have the phone in my hand, and when I take actual pictures, and it comes out less than it’s realistically expected to perform, I’m always saying, "yeah what the hell, it's a Nokia, it's still good, at least it's got 3 mega pixels, and it's small, and shiny, like a digital camera..." I mean, I always find myself trying to make these lame excuses to accept my phone for what it’s capable of at the least... BUT THIS IS TOO MUCH! After I sell my N80, I’m just gonna sit back first and let the smart phones roll out over the next few months, coz now, I’m looking at a longer term, I’m like saying, "by the end of 2006, what phone will I be holding and be satisfied with?" Satisfied in a sense that the phone actually does what it’s expected to do, not expecting it to transform into an airplane or whatever… I’m not going to freak out this august and buy what's released now, I’m gona sit back and let the smart phones roll coz in a few months it's gona be 2007 and all our smart phones this year are gona be no match to future smart phones of the next years... so my advice to all of you, choose a smart phone that you will truly use, for today and for the next months to come, no smart phone is expected to last forever, but at least your gonna be happy and contented with what you have in your hands today.

Thanks a lot mate. Much appreciated. Have you tested Wi-Fi with it? I just got my 8800 Aston Martin Edition and i paid more than a bundle on it. I am asking these questions cos, shelving out another 800 euros needs some convincing :P.

                              1. Tv-OUT function works properly?
                              2. Does the phone overheat? Some ppl claim it does.
                              3. You reckon the hinge is solid?
                              4. Do you have problems accesing files with the OS?
                              5. Is it worth this much?

No the photos are not grainy without being resized, but resizing bigger well we all know. So far hung on me once in 4 days of use.
Tricky part is keeping the carl zeiss lens cover on, although it clips firmly on, and they give you a cable you never know. Phone features like all Nokias. Sound is good, ringing tone must be toned down and front display is small enough to show only caller, and date and time when idle, and in B&W and month year when record button is pushed. Card slot very firm and covered well, back cover this time surely must be the best back cover nokia ever made.

Zeferino thanks for the feedback. Could you confirm if the pictures are grainy on the pc without being resized? Also, how many times per day does your phone crash?

Well big shot N93, I am back, been busy with my N93, the real one that is. Noise ? I must , those who heard noises go check your ears. The 2GB card I put in it is good enough for alot of shooting. The Camera is superb, if I needed a better one I would go out and buy a Nikon or something. Only complaint is when I use the camera the click sound is too soft, not much reality. Feels really solid too hold, unlike the N90, has vibration, I mean really vibrates , bit bigger than the N90, but the form factor and color does not make it look so, hanged once in the last few days of use. First editon factory firmware european set. Anything more ? Oh yes 2 cameras, Zeiss lens does not rotate, screen moves and is connected on one side only. Nice big keys to dial, good for the big handed, and when you carry around you dont feel silly. Walla !!!!!
