Just got the N93 on vodafone contract. 1st phone returned because the ringtone was muffled (not all the time) but sometimes after a few rings, other times worked ok very unreliable. Second phone came exactly the same thing happened, tried taking memory card out but same thing again even with the phones own nokia sound. Now going to look for another phone. Looked a fabulous phone but this is my first snd last nokia. Looking at a few forums on all nokias i noticed many software problems sorry but will not go near nokia again. Video on the phoned looked great but very dull indoors. My old phone (sonyericssonW900) had better video light but less resolution. Dont buy!!

When you downloaded the software updator you are asked to select the phone model you use
and then after you do that you are taken to the next screen of downloading. Now a) did you selct the correct phobe model b)sometimes
though the cable is connected it does not work. So press the cable a little. If this not work exit software updator and try connecting PC suite. If you can connect PC suite then without exiting PC suite start software updator. It may work
Finally I guess Nokia has yet to put the firmware software on the update portal.

Need Help!
I downloaded Nokia Software Updater successfully. But when I connected my phone it says "Searching for a phone connected".
Have I done something wrong? I am sure my phone is connected through USB cable.
Please help. Your kind help is very much appreciated.

i really want to have an n93 unit.it looks so sophisticated,i hope somebody will gonna give me an n93 this coming christmas...lol...

Please tell me does your phone record in B/W if you select night mode during video recording at night where the lighting conditions are NOT pitch dark.

Upgrading to 20.0.058 has improved the performance. Less hang ups. Faster menu.
Nokia has yet to put the firmware version on its site that is the reason why you get the message " You have the latest software". I suggest you visit nearest Nokia care and get the firmware upgraded. It should be done in 40 minutes. In the new version they have made some menu changes which you notice like WLAN status on desktop

I experienced hang ups and slow down in n93'S Software Version 11. I upgraded it to V 20.0.058. So far, its really good. Its fast, No hang Ups! and added features like WLAN Scanning Option at the Desktop. So far I like it.

i need some serious help!!!!!
i have an n93, i would like to update its firm ware from 10 etc to 20 etc, if i do this, will i still get the benifits from version 11?
also everytime i go to use the nokia software updater tool thingy it freezes, has a runtime or c++ error or searches for ages and ages and will saty at tht screen, i left it for an hour then ended it, only once has it told me tht there r no updates avliable but i read on fourms tht people have got version 11 and 20, how is this?
and help appreciated, email me if u have da solution plz:D

Guys !
Today I upgraded to firmware version 20.0.058
as Popic said. They have made some menu changes.
You will see WLAN activation status on desktop.I dont know how to remove the status on desktop display. clicking it only brings a menu "Auto search" off or on.
Video in night mode is improved. It becomes B/W instead of pitch black and some details are visible.
On still side on the high end of digital zoom
there is some noise reduction.
On video side howeverit is same as earlier. Good videos can be obtained with the slider on the half of Orange bar. Pushing it further results in pixelation and is more amplified if viewed on TV.
The menu is very fast.
I am not too sure if they have reduced optical zooming noise. However the other audio gets snuffed out while the optical zoom is working.

i am planning to buy a N93 but am not really sure of what to buy N93 N90 N91 or 5300?? Im only 14 so i need a good advice... N93 looks cool... but is it as cool as it looks? k hope someone will reply

For all the people that ask for opinions about the N93 from actual owners....Why don't you just scroll through some of the previous posted opinions...even just 3-4 opinions down and you will read some good advice. Stop being so stupid and check before you waste time and space

I want to take suggestion from all the people who are using the N93. Should i buy N93 or not. Give me an honest suggestion. One thing more i have read the opinions that its camera quality is not good but i dont think so because it has 3MP camera so how it is posssible

I just got this phone then the software crashed on me and the phone displayed contact retailer. It had the latest firmware installed couldnt understand why the phone done this has anyone else had the same problem at all??????????? please help

Ok here is the truth from an honest Canadian... Got rid of my Sharp 903 for the N93. At first I was really disappointed because the picture clarity of the 903 was much better, still haven't seen better pictures from a phone than on the Sharp. But the Sharp is just a phone with a great camera. The N93 is a phone, computer (internet) not a bad portable gaming device,a music player/movie player and not a bad camera. So i guess i can get over the so-so pictures with all the other features
