Nokia has a great customer base in europe the likes of sharp do not therefore nokia do not have to produce great camera's.Flash 5mp on a billboard and people will automatically be in a state of awe. What nokia and most other manufacturers need to concentrate on is the sensor.A 5mp camera with a CCD sensor would be great.

You can't buy sharp phones anymore... Japanese phones are all very well locked.

I used to have a Sharp 903, best old phone ever in my opinion, but it was very big and lacked a lot of features that the N95 had. Since then, what Sharp phone can you get and use outside of Japan? Tell me and I'll buy one right away.

And including optical zoom on the N95 would have tacked on another 35g and 4mm of thickness minimum. I'd rather have the smaller phone and just crop for zoom.

Does anybody have a solution for me?

My multimedia button only works once a day for about 5 minutes. After that it will not work at all unless I switch phone off and on again. Getting really frustrated as i've put all my shortcuts on Multimedia menu so use it quite alot. I'm on phone number 11 and i've only had it since may - call me picky but for a phone as expensive as this one surely this shouldn't be happening. does anybody have any solutions?

Hey butch, Allan is right, the n73 does have a better flash than the n95. My friend has the n95 and we compared night shots with my n73.

uhhh, N95 isn't "just released"... It's been out for a good number of months now.

Anyway, someone said "wtf are you gonna do with 5mp? print a billboard?"

K first of all 5mp isn't near billboard size, but aside from that, the reason you want high res photos is for CROPPING. With the exception of the absofrigginlutely massive N93, no camera phones have optical zoom. So how to do you "zoom in" on something? You crop the photo! What lets you crop your photo and retain quality? High resoltion!

Now i'm not a nokia fan boy, nor am I a fan boy of any brand watsoever, so I will say that the new K850 fromy Sony Ericsson will probably take better pictures than the N95. But there are a ton of other things that the N95 does whereas Sony's K line are basically phones with awesome cameras and not a hellva lot more. I like the N series 'cause it takes from best from the W, K and P series of SE and puts them into one. Unfortunately they often sacrifice certain things to do so. In the case of the N95, those sacrifices were 1) Battery life and 2) Stability. Will the N95 ever outshoot a phone that is designed to be first and foremost a camera like the N93 or the K850? No. But it will outperform them in almost every other aspect.

Here in Thailand the phone was lauched at 31000 bahts. Now it is 24900, that's 20 % loss in 2 months. And the 29 august Nokia will announced the N82, same N95 but better. Price will go down even faster. Morality : only people without brain buy phones just released...

Yes, N95 doesn't take high quality of images because it's too compressed. 5 megapixels should be around 2MB in size but with N95, it's around 700kB only. N93, N73 and especially K800i take so much better, higher quality of images than N95!

5 megapixel camera is just a marketing strategy of Nokia so that N95 will attract more consumers. I mean, there's no practicality with 5 megapixels. Are u going to print an image captured by N95 in billboard size? Even 2 megapixel is so more than enough to make quality prints of ur images.

need some help ppl. i am stuck with what to get. im fussy is the way to say it. i want a good camera and i want to be able to watch movies plus i want to be able to listen to my music and i want all the other features (i want, i want, i want, i want). i have 3 choices. either N95, moto Z8 or SE k850i. nokia has it all but ppl say that it is really bad for performance. i dont mind the odd problem like it going slow once in a while but if the whole thing dont work then whats the point, right?. also the battery life is supposed to be really bad or is this just a problem some ppl have with running high quality screensavers and themes, i will use the phone but im not going to watch movies everyday and listen to my music 24/7. the moto Z8 has the movie feature but picture quality is crap on camera. i already have 2mgp camera on my w810i. i want to move on in life! the SE k850i has the camera but what else has it got? obviously you will be able to listen to your music but is that it. i have probably answered my own question and N95 is the way forward but any advise on changing my desision is welcome. i work for o2 so getting phone on staff discount is my benefit but will be stuck with this for 18mth, hense the reason i need some help. i have heard you can play divx files on the n95 and the phone has 30fps same as the Z8, anyone have any ideas if this works as good as the Z8. obviously wont be in HD but they have the same 30fps and same 16m colous screen! because i work for o2 i know there are alot of N95 that come back but this is just the same with the Z8. when updating the phone using the firmware does this sort out most of the problems?

all opinions accepted and greatly appreciated
