The 1100 is the world best selling phone because it solded extremelly well in third world countryes. The arte series has targeted a special niche of costumers!Nokia lost the top-spot in the smartphone segment with n96 and n97! The n96 was not a proper replacement for the n95! The n95 sold 7 million units! The n96 and n97 sold each around half! The dvb-tunner was not on the top of the costumers top requairements! That's why it was taken out of production! Because it wasn't a best seller! Don't you know the golden rule? The winning team is never changed! The n96 was not a winning phone!

Probably the stores you went to have finished their stocks! Try buying one online from the sites given by Gsmarena,I'm sure they are trustworthy ,or try Ebay or if you know someone get one from the black market.Good luck!

Nokia sell 270,000 symbian smartfones worldwide every day.Obviuously short of 2 million a week but thats worldwide and ONLY symbian smartfones, figures on all their other range seem to vary from 400,000 to 625.000 but these been mainly second fones and bought in emerging markets sales fluctuste massivly..So in other words people get paid at odd times and buyung of bulk fones can boost figures one montha nd see the cut down the next.
Out of ALL the mobile fones since 1998 ive had htc make the worst quality. I would put many alcatel tranducers (ie speakers,microphones) quality higher than whay htc use.Yet htc are the most expensive??

Nokia normally sells it's phones unlocked or sim - free while Apple and Android phones are sold through service providers. Since, the service providers subsidies the prices, sales are high. Any phone sold unlock is not a success apart from Nokia. All successful Apple and Android phones are sold mostly by carriers. Phones that have more features have higher cost which implies lower profit margin viceversa.
As yourself why Nokia 5800 is among the most sold touch screen phone and Nokia 1100 is the most sold phone and gadget. Nokia 8800 arte is expensive so can't be afforded by many people. The average living dominate the market so devices made for such people will rule.

What part don't you understand? Nokia lost the smartphone segment in the n96,n97 period because n96 was not considered a worthy succesor of n95! The only improvement over the n95 was the extended memory storage and your "cherished" dvb-tunner! It's clear that your knoledge about phones is very limited since you don't know these facts!

Sun, 30 Nov 2010Your lack of knoledge and limited understanding has made yo... moreNokia discontinues it's expensive phones early like N91, N92, N96, 8800 series etc because of cost. Samsung Galaxy S is a nice phone but comparing a touch screen to a non-touch screen Nokia N96 is absurd.
I will just list some facts:
1. Nokia N96 is popular than Samsung Galaxy S
2. Nokia N96 price history was dropping at a slower pace than Samsung Galaxy S
3. Nokia N96( 2 years old) is in the same price group of Samsung Galaxy S(half a year old)
4. Nokia N96 has excellent call quality and 3d stereo sound than Samsung Galaxy S
5. Nokia N96 has inbuilt video and sound chip that converts video and sound straight away but Samsung Galaxy S lack this hardware.
Nokia N96 will always be remembered

Try buying it online,there are sites who still sell it.

It doesn't matter in what way,it matters that there are plenty of phones frow whitch you can whatc Tv! For you information the n96 wasn't a glorious chapter in Nokia history that why it got discontinued after a year and a few months while succes phones like the n95,n73 were produces for a few years! Few costumers worldwide being interested in that feature! It's clear that your knoledge in mobile phones is limited and superficial since you only had a couple of middle end phones,except the sirocco! Supernova...9500 communicator...those are just junk phones! I used only high-end phones and I have now the best phone in the world, Galaxy S!!! Next time think before posting useless comments!

Never regretted using Nokia N96, is like supporting the best football club in the world Barcelona who scored Real Madrid 5 - 0 and had ball possession of 83% against 17%. Jose Mourinho self proclaimed 'special one' had the greatest defeat in his coaching career from his formal player Pep Guardiola.What a talented football team that has created the greatest footballer in the world Diego Maradona and most best footballers. Hope it creates the greatest coach.

Sun ignorance has made you defianted. I said name just one phone that has dvb feature and you said clone chinese phone. Something clone is fake and is not technology and point of correction chinese clone phone transmit analogue tv channels whilst dvb transmit digital tv channels. Nokia is pioneer of camera phone, bluetooth, gps, large storage memory phone, dvb feature etc. Nokia used dvb feature in 2004 on 7710 touchscreen. Learn technology well because Nokia is among the three largest patent owners with Intel and Qualcomm

i just dont know reason the phone is very scarce in i've gone to various nokia outlets in nigeria they normally told me is not available and i feel like having the phone already,it is the best phone i have lay my hands on,got one before it was stolen

Just Google it and you will find an infinity of cloned phones especially from Nokia and Apple who have a integrated tunner that allows watching TV! I have a Galaxy S and n96 can't compare with it neigher in terms of display,speed,user interface,number of apps etc. Still I haven't sold my n96 bec I still like it. As for the phones...I had or still have n73,n95,n96 n97 mini,i900 omnia,F480 tocco,lg prada, sirocco,8600 luna,8800 sapphire arte and the the jewel Galaxy S. I know more about technology since i had better phones then you! So next time before posting about things you think are unique try to do a little research!

Sun name the china phones that have dvb turner. I have toshiba 42 inch regza tv and samsung 32 inch led tv so respect people you don't know. I have used many phones like Nokia 7610, 7610 Supernova, 9500 Communicator, N75, 8800, 8800 Sirocco, 5800, Palm Pre and Nokia N96 etc and i don't thing you have knowledge in technology.
Nokia N96 is King of phones because no phone have all it's features even the current Nokia N8.
