Stop the battery whining. It's heavily optimized and outperforms N95 8Gb even it has smaller battery.

the N96 battery same with the battery N95, the battery is 950 mah. the battery is not enough to call. If u play the features in the phone, there is no battery to make a emergency call. The poorest part is the battery.
Even they know the N95 battery was not last longer then theycome out with the N95 8G to improve the battery and design but now they still did the same mistake again in N96.
I am already disaapointed to NOKIA. Actually I am NOKIA supporter but now is SONYERICSSON.
Nowadays SONY handphone is cheaper and more functions. It worth than I buy a NOKIA with the same features.

          @nick

having all of those promising features, the n96 seems to be a great phone, i (we) cant deny that. but....this features will still be put into test.im not really sure if an n96 with a "whopping" 48gb can give us a moderate operating speed since "almost every" N-series phones (as well as other brands) slows down even at 1gb (full

          to everyone....

there is an obvious improvement in the features of n96 but we still have to "use it" and see for ourselves if the performance of this phone is remarkable.nonetheless, im hoping we could recognize those "technical improvements" which is actually the only factor why some people consider n96 as an improved version of n95.

"features are useless if it will not hit even the most modest performance"

for now i can say that nokia made something really unique and

outstanding(i dont expect everyone to agree).being the number one phone company in the world? its just fair.

            I don't know if it's a nice jump or not for N95-8Gb users from 95pt. to 96pt.
But for me it is a nice jump from 73pt.(7390) to 169pt.(7390 for communication, N96 for other funs):-)

                Responding to Andy Burgin.

I'm quite confused regarding your previous statement.

My previous post was a statement to readjust commentators' misconceptions of the Nokia N96. You and others alike tend to compare the Nokia N95 and the Nokia N96 as competing rivals more so than complements of each other.

You typed, "...the phone doesn"t seem to be as good as i expected as i have the Black N95 an does not seem to show much improvement from Nokia..." Improvement comes in more than one form. Even though the Nokia N96 doesn't meet your specific standards in "improvement" (which is an opinion), "the Nokia N96 is more so a technical improvement over the Nokia N95" nevertheless (fact).

                Side note.
The estimated price of the Nokia N96, in my opinion, is trivial because I understand economics as a whole. Honestly, you and others contradict yourselves. You all want high end features, "improvements", et cetera, yet are not willing to pay the price to bring equilibrium to the market. As a consumer, you all have responsibility and choices. Obviously if your finances restrict you from purchasing this device, there are others to choice from. Harsh yet reality.

Dear Ying you might be a mobile phone expert but everyone as there own views about mobiles, the review on mobile review was by a quality reviewer as i always check there site for honest reviews an they also give honest an trusty comments about mobiles they review, the N95 at first might have look good put Nokia released it to early as the software was not ready for it as showed with the batterylife on it,so the N96 will be very expensive so this might turn people away from getting the N96 worrying about the battery an price

Yeah, you can keep waiting till the end of the world.
There always have better version every few month later, so what are you want to say?
"Please don't buy it, so the price can be lower enough for me~"?

just wait a little and try not to buy

this phone on its very release. im

sure there will be a better version

of n96 within a few months from

now so you better wait for that and

hope by that time you haven't find

                                  anything better.

one by one or two by two (whichever you prefer.,i dont care) the features of this so called "monster phone" "all in one phone" "best phone ever" "phone of the millenium" will be optimized.its always like that guys so get use to it.they are giving it one at a time and on the right time.

even if this n96 is the "best", nokia will still and will endlessly come up with something much better because they are indeed "innovative". am i hurting your eardrums fellows? i like that....

i wont be surprise if i'd see an avalanche of great and positive user comments of this phone....gggrrrr.... its giving me chill even at this early stage.

guys....think the other way around so that i could help you ^_^

I have seen that Nokia N96 specs have been fixed (no infrared). The lack of infrared is not much of an issue, because IrDA is to be soon replaced by Bluetooth.

I have seen that review of N96 on mobile-review.com. I have some doubts about the sound quality test, though, because even the worst sound reproducers have the intermodulation distorsion below 0.2. N96 has 0.593??? Other than that, on the same website, is to be noticed that N96 has better sound results than N81 except for the frequency response (which is not much worse).

Question. Do you expect an improved version of this device towards the end of the year? If so, what can you expect to see new or improved? I have noticed that all successful Nokia phones have had later improved editions (see N93, N95, N81, N91 etc).
