This phone is the n92 all over again, I dont even think this handset is going to be launched

Hey every body. N96 is a very good phone, And about the battary u can charge the phone enery day before u sleep. But when is that pohone going to launch in shops, and for how much??????

This phone seems to have all the features that I want except its to fat for my pants! Also, would be nice if it had touch screen like my ipod...

For all of you who are concerned with battery life. N95 came out with the BL-5F @ 950 mAh, we sell it stock with BL-6F @ 1200 mAh in Australia, just upgrade your battery...
I'm sure the N96 will fit the BL-6F...

About those wishing for a touchscreen phone by nokia, there a rumors of a possible n98. It wil hav a 3.2 inch screen, 16 million colors, wi-fi, 7.2mp camera with carl zeiss optics and wil run on windows mobile or symbian s70. Rumors say it wil be packed to the brim with every feature you can think of and is being branded as the iphone killer. It looks like a large 8600 luna. It looks stylish in my view. It is supposed to come out late this year.
As for QWERTY keyboard lovers, another rumor is out about a possible n99. Wil hav 9 way joystick, divx player wi-fi, 16gb memory, 7.2 carl zeiss mp, gps, 3.2 inch touchscreen n document viewer. It is supposed to come out either later this year or next year.
Anyway these are just rumors. But if they are true, nokia have outdone themselves in a marvellous way and are confirming their extending the lead as market leaders.
Go to google n type n97, n98 or n99. Very interesting.

Unfortunately the Nokia N96 isn't available. So yes, all we can do is make assumptions...on how a device will last based on an individual's usage. Yet, when comparing hardware to hardware with the same scenario, factual conclusions can be made (referring to past post, N95 vs N96).
I took into account many factors when choosing a device to best support my point. The most important factor, which of the devices I ACTUALLY OWN best suit the discussion, the Nokia N95 or N80. I noted in my post, "The scenario I will be describing is my own daily usage of my phone..." I'm sure there may be a better Nokia device to compare the N96 with besides the two I own, but I wanted it to be based on my own experience. I ultimately chose my N80 because it lack the 3D hardware, like the N96, but unlike the N95. The 3D hardware itself is a major draining battery component, which is another point in why the Nokia N96 has the 950mAh battery, but that's a different discussion.
My objective was to prove how a poor battery equipped phone could last more than 2 days. Ultimately, it all depends on how you use the device, like I said before.
Regarding your comment about spare batteries. Being an owner of the N95, I have yet to purchase a spare. It's a fact that the battery life of the N95 is poor. I use common sense as a counter measure. Traveling on the road? Purchase a car charger. Change the settings of the device. Reduce display brightness and light on duration. Change network to GSM instead of DUAL BAND, especially when not needed. Confirm the "only when needed" setting with the GPRS service. Little stuff like this goes a long way, and if the same tactics are applied to the Nokia N96, I feel this device will do pretty well in the "real world".

It's not that stupid to compare Ying's N80 with this N96 since things compensate (for example, the N80 has a weaker battery, but a not-so-power-thirsty screen and OS). Besides, the comparison between the N95 and N96 shows that, according to Nokia, the UI and all processes have been significantly optimized.
Look on the Nokia official site and see the video/audio playback time, you'll be surprised to see that it outerperforms even the N95 8GB in this matter. Also, search the YouTube site (about MWC 2008) and see what Nokia has to say about battery efficiency and size.
So this N96 is not so bad. I agree with you (about the presumptions stuff), but, as I said in an earlier post, Nokia wouldn't put the same battery as the N95's WITHOUT improving energy efficiency.
But our "presumptions" are 99% true until the full detailed review from GSMArena (I'm sure there will be one).

OK, if what you say is true, then this N96 is not so bad (I'm talking about the battery). However, it is not easy to compare the N80 (much smaller screen, user interface, processing power) with this powerhouse. But I tend to believe you, as Nokia engineers would be fools to just place the 950 mAh BL-5F in a device more powerful than the N95 WITHOUT further optimization in what concerns energy efficiency.
Overall, the features of this device make it worthy to be called a "multimedia computer". Thanks for clearing out a lot of doubts about it.

From what I here, the Nokia N96 does not have HSDPA for 850MHz, but it does have it for 900Mhz and 2100MHz.

Which Motorola phone would that be? (I have not come across any rumors/info on it, either here on gsmarena or on phonearena.com, engadget.com, intomobile.com, etc...)
Also, beware of 8 megapixels in a phone. Unless they significantly increase the size of the CCD and the optics to match, this means that each CCD cell will be so small that the noise will effectively kill the quality of the picture. (This is already an issue in 5MP phones, usually with a 1/2.5" sensor - and more megapixels beyond this will simply mean crappier pictures - even when compensating for the scale).
