YES! It could happen n it should! Guys! I nid ur help! Go post ur trouble wif Nokia N97 on other tech websites and propose how nokia should solve this prob! I guess wif this much outrage in da Nokia N97 community, Nokia will hav no choice but to listen to us(N97 users) n solve our prob wif it! Our problems are multitasking performance is bad and the phone always restarts itself! =D

Louis walsh off x-factor UK always uses a communicator on the show,,its taken a while to see what he is using this year and i am 90% sure its a black N97.

I am with you and retweeting out what i can do to release a new firmware..I would like nokia to let n97 owners bring in there their fones and Nokia swap the 434 MHz chip for the 600MHz chip that would help.When NOkia had n95 troubles they sent their engineers to tweek the last drop out of it and they did on "demand paging" and fixed bug after bug and they got the model to a good standard AND to except a 16GB CARD..
This was an expensive model and nearly top of the list in votes on gsmarena,the n97 is a beast and i am sure they can give out a few more updates to v51 like 5800,come on Nokia,PLEASE.

YEA! TOTTALLY AGREE WIF U GUYS! Nokia should reli release a new firmware update software to improve diz fone's ability to multitask n also to solve da prob of diz fone switching off by itself,, or even better symbian^3 without coverflow and its graphic effect due to lack of 3D accelerator,
NOKIA N97 USERS! LET's PUSH NOKIA TO RELEASE A MAJOR FIRMWARE UPDATE TO ADDRESS THIS PROBLEM! EVERYBODY HEAR MY CALL TO THIS PROBLEM!

srinath, 26 Sep 2010hi ha buyed nokia n97....mobile is getting switchof everyti... morehalo....we have the same problem....during the 1st day im using it...it always turned off....sometimes the on/off key doesnt work..need to remove/reinsert the battery...i've sent back the phone to my seller in the night, tommorow evening he gaves me back...n the problem gone..hope it will last forever.......he said he press the battery more harder theann before...i dun understand what he mean....but the phone return to default setting...even the themes n homescreen also...

I am using Nokia N97 about 10 months and recetly updated to latest firmware available.
As we had bought a very high end flagship device from Nokia we expect something from them.
1. New firmware to be released specifically to increase basic memory to improve multitasking.
2. Any good features in relation with speed and memory which is featuring in N8 or E7 should be extended to N97.
3. Possible option to be explored - Buy back of this device with N8 or E7
4. Or Hard Ware upgrade features even if taking some price for it.
5. Music interface is horrible. It cannot play folder wise this music libarary shows all mp3 stored in E or F drive.
6. For Videos - same comments applies.
7. Mail for exchange and document editor including PDF should be part of firmware update inorder to use memory efficiently.

Nokia N97 has memory prob, since symbian^3 has better memory management, therefore Nokia should release a symbian^3 major firmware update for nokia n97, symbian 3 without its graphic effects, coverflow will be able to work on nokia n97, nokia should also release da update increasing da speed of da processor to 800MHz and also make da software to use da memory card to improve da fone's performance like windows computers, processor is responsible for how fast an app opens,, ram is responsible for multitasking,, =D a faster processor will mean more less bat life, but diz fone has 1500MAh bat, its adequate enuf,

My 97 is fitted with a class 6 memory card & use that for everything,all well using tips on RAM &cdisk.Was getting e7 but wats it got ??? Inbuilt storage only & with battery drop &fixed cam i am out. Whats net fone? Who knows .

The c-drive should have everything off it shoved on to mass memory.Dont use accuweather or facebook on homescreen or forget n-gage if you dont use it.Make sure u have latest firmware witch gives more ram and c-disk space.The n97 is big but it only a bigger screened n86,its all the same inards but optimised for touch.ive got this working ok,but do areboot at end of day..
