i have this phone 1 month.1. profiles start change alone, music of profile too. 2.when ever i open my contact list i have the same names 2 or 3 times. i delete them and after this they show again in contact list.3. touch screen doesn't work always.4. camera make very bad photos. i am very disappoint of the phone. it's very expensive (500 euros)and worth nothing.

    NEVER DOWNLOAD FROM OVI STORE!!

    My Nokia 5800 XpressMusic WONT BOOT due to have so many apps from the OVI STORE.

    If you dont have a memory card, buy one!! Ignore the Nokia Care as THEY DONT HAVE A FIX to this plague - IT'S THE OVI that's causing the issues.

    I tried my MODIFIED MEMORY CARD TRICK on both my Nokia N97 and Nokia 5800 XpressMusic and they work successful.

    OVI is a failure. IT WILL DESTROY our beloved Nokia phones.

    Have you noticed that when you HARD RESET it will BOOT fine but when you download it will not?

Took it to Nokia, service was good but still didn't expect it to break down in one month. Was fine for a month and now it hanged on me. The bad thing is even if I take the battery out and put it back in and switch it on, it still hangs. Can't use it at all. Will have to take it to Nokia again. Problem is I didn't buy it in the country where I am staying in right now. Can be quite annoying. Have been a Nokia user since the 5110 days. Up to 8210, 6600, 6630, n90, n80, n95, n95 8gig and now n97. This might be my last Nokia.

        in support to my last post, i got a problem when receiving a call, its not unlocking automatically, what i did is to unlock by sliding the side lock quickly before answering a call, and i already got the hang of it,

        no problems in messaging (i havent try e-mails though)

        no problems in n-gage (its perfect!!!)

        no problems in charging through wall or USB

        -i havent drop the phone yet, maybe i still dont have that routine

        -3G not yet supported in my current location (though n97 is already in the market in some provinces)

        -most of the problems are in my web/default browser, always snaps me back in the main screen after minutes of using.

          WHOA???!!! so many problems after being gone for a week, well, i'm a week close to have a monthsary with my n97, so far, i dont have problems, (except for crashing apps, its normal for s60 though),

          here are some info of my n97, and what i do with it after i got it, so far. hope this will help:

          -product code: 0586199 (v12.0.026, no updates yet)
          -RM-505 (i dont know why i posted that)
          -i bought it from U.S. through online

          after shipment:
          -hard reset and factory reset before using the phone
          -input country, city, etc.
          -charge phone for 6hrs after battery drains

          after few days:
          -hard reset (due to OVI failing)
          -uninstall ovi and Facebook widget
          -removed all updates (after hard reset though)
          -wi-fi to the maximum
          -music play at max volume (my mom almost killed me)
          -downloaded widgets (web based OVI)
          -super multi-task (web, music etc...)
          -took almost 130 images and 5 videos of 1 hour max

          after 2 weeks:
          -installed/update apps (adobe and quick office)
          -got frustrated on pre-installed apps that i cant remove
          -hard reset (OVI app is starting when i browse OVI store through web browser)
          -installed Opera Mobile 10
          -system crashed (opera moblie 10 ate 32mb of RAM)
          -updated software (except OVI and Nokia Messaging)
          -installed Opera Mobile 10(2)

          3rd week:
          -synced phone to p.c suite
          -installed sw updater
          -no updates yet
          -walking with phone for -23 degrees Celsius (its in the pocket of my winter jacket)

          I think thats it!!!!!

            i've bought it few days earlier. Today after receiving a call it got hanged. I have tried several ways to restart the phone but all went in vein. Finally i had to remove the battery. Does any one ever face this kind of problem? What is the solution? One more thing which i have noticed is the camera quality is really poor compare to N73. It looks pale while taking picz using flash. Found no improvement while switching off flash. Appreciate if any one let me know the process of taking picz using n97.

                the phone explodes when you take it close to a candle. in 3 seconds in goes "boom".

                  one of the bad phone of the workd.canere is very slow.no xenon flash.re start moremthan 6 tim e in a day. camera not clear . sony ericsson w200i is good-better-best than it.no buy it please.

                    you know what guys all you people r streesing n97 is 32gig so loose the memory card!!! a memory card actualy slows alot of phones down sum could b fine sum a problem!!?? the only memory card i would add on is a 1gig! i have always had probs with 2gig???!

                      hello hi im in south africa and i need 2 download v20 softwear can sum 1 please advise me as 2 how i can do it with my device an not a pc i received the phone from uk and i want 2 update it in south africa will i have any probs??? please help! i tried yestaday with the device but only got v12!?

                        Hi,

                        OVI Contacts 1.2 update vis software update always fails. Any solution or has anyone been able to install it successfully.

                                      used for 1 week, cant bear the speed. the worst point is that the interface is not friendly, very hard to use, not practable
