never had a problem with signals in any Nokia phones. When it comes to battery, it really depends if you open a lot of apps especially internet (live update on Facebook, nokia Messaging, etc)

The battery is decent but not fantastic. I personally haven't had many major problems with the phone (only occasional hanging and having to hard reset once), but you do hear about many horror stories. The phone still has a way to go before being completely stable software-wise - it is still a bit buggy even with the v20 firmware, so there probably are more stable alternatives out there.

Hope it never happens to u :)

I currently h... moreIn regards to the battery, you probably will need to charge it daily (not more than once daily though). Obviously it depends on how you use it (and you can do things like set network mode to gsm and lower screen brightness to save memory), but if you call and use wifi quite heavily everyday, I would be surprised if it lasts more than 24 hours or so. Of course the battery is removable and you can get another one, but unfortunately I have no experience in batteries so cannot recommend any. Personally, I haven't had too many problems with this phone, but I'm sure you've read by now

I ... moreHey Damion the N97 gets decent signals almost everywhere and if u are not getting good signals on ur fone then check with another fone at the same place with the same operator once and then if shows good signal then take your N97 to the store and have a replacement done or a repair on the internal antenna.
                        Good Luck!!!

Pnoy in US, 07 Dec 2009thank you. is there any way to set Mass/Memory Card as d... moreWhen using Ovi store, you can set mass memory as default memory - just go to accounts and settings on your phone. But when installing apps outside of Ovi store, you have to choose which memory it will save into - it gives you a choice of phone, mass or memory card. You can't set a default; it will ask you what you want to do every time. Note that there are some apps (eg Nokia Messaging and Ngage) that must be stored on phone memory (and even if you don't choose phone memory it will be stored there).

                                  Guys,

I am close to getting my new Nokia. I currently have the Nokia 5800 but will change it soon as I don't want just a Touch Screen phone. I need buttons. With this phone, how good is the battery? How often do I need to charge it if I just do text messages and calls?

How often do I need to charge it with heavy use - calling, SMS, email (WIFI) and playing games?

                                  What about average use?

Is there an alternative stronger battery I could buy?

I will not get a Nokia which I have to charge daily or more than once daily. I had a bad experience with this when I had the Nokia N96. The E72 and N86 have great batteries. Both are being considered too.
