I love Nokia!
All the Phones that I had (mostly) are Nokia, and whatever Phone I will have will still be Nokia
Nokia N97 has a sick Battery life (even when I'm online, using web browser, or on Palringo) I won't need to charge it in at least 36 hours. If it's just Stand-by mode I can leave it on for about 2 or so days :3

i thinkk you can install the opera mini 5 beta, load fastest among the others
v20 firmware coming this october, hope it releases before i buy n97

After having this phone for 2 weeks now, I am satisfied with it, i would not trade this phone for any other phone at the moment, not even the nokia n900. I am quite happy with n97 and symbian.
I did complaint about a few things 1 was the battery, but after a full charge and hours of chatting using the n97, I did get 36 hours of battery life.
Everytime when I buy a new cell I say to myself my next phone will not be a nokia but I end up buying another nokia!!!
Been using nokia for 6 years now and for me the n97 is the best, maybe not the fastest or the best camera or the best design. But to me its the best for now.

Anonymous, 01 Jan 1970If u're into music, go for W995 as it produces great sound. If you want a touchscreen with a great web browser with other great features and is a smartphone, then go for the N97.

Does the GPS get any improvement after a Firmware update. I'm a bit worried coz the mine is very unstable. Whenever I'm using the Nokia Maps app or Garmap, it cannot lock on one position for more than 20 seconds. Does anyone know if a Firmware update will fix this?

hi all!
i got my N97 week. the 1st thing i did was update the f/w to v12. in past week i hvnt had any issues mentined in the forum here, my fone never hung, no slow down in responsiveness, even if i hv web, music player and slew applications opened.
One intriguing fact though, if i just leve the fone in standby, and chk system status, free RAM goes down to even single digit figures, at this point out of curiosity, i opened a number of apps to try screw up the fone, amazingly, i chked the status again and found 50MB of 120 mb free!!!!!
all in all, its a worthy replacement to my good ol' faithful 6600, symbian forever!

N97 phone software version can be updated from version 11.0.021 to 12.0.024 over-the-air by using the SW Update application. The software is directly loaded and installed to the mobile device without a need to use a PC for the update.
Before the phone software can be updated over-the-air, the software package "Install Before Phone Software" must be installed in the N97 v11.0.021 device. This software package modifies the FOTA Default Server Profile in N97 to allow the phone software update. The software package must be installed separately before the phone software can be updated. The phone software installation does not start if the "Install Before Phone Software" package has not been first installed to the device.
The following steps need to be taken when updating the N97 phone software from v11.0.021 to v12.0.024:
* Go to Menu > Applications > SW Update.
* Unselect Phone software.
* Select Install Before Phone Software.
* Select Options > Start update.
* After the update is successfully completed, select Phone software.
* Select Options > Start update.

Fantastic phone, the N97. I have only one question and I hope someone can help me. How do I set my contacts that when they call me, there names display and not only the number. I can't seem to find this setting anywhere and I've even been on the net to look at different guides. Please help, anyone.

For those who are Dissappointed by n97 CPU and ram
128 ram
same as iPhone 3g, firmware 20 will fix the mulittasking problem, better ram management
434 same as iPhone 3g
no 3d hardware accelerator, would you really want to use n97 For gaming?
Waste time for gaming and consume lot of battery power
n97 with Firmware 20 rocks
