in Indonesia the 16gb Iphone 3G cost about US$1.200 and N97 only cost you less than US$700, can you imagine how expensive that rubbish Iphone???
the 32gb ipod touch only US$370, I own the ipod touch & all i can say that Ipod touch was really great, the difference between iphone & ipod touch just a phone, camera & a 3G access except that are the same, then would you dare to spend US$900 more only to have an iphone??? you really crazy dude

this is the realit... moreYeah i am a Nokia fan and i only buy Nokia. i have been using Nokia since 1996 (b4 you were born). i have tried other brands before and one of them is i-phone. but nothing can beat Nokia.
i know what Nokia can offer its customers and i have never been disatified with it unlike other brands.
i used panasonic --> returned after 1 week
i used Ericsson ---> returned after one month
i used sony ericsson ---> returned after 1.5 month
i used motorolla ----> returned after 1 week
i used samsung --- > returned after 1 month
i used Qtek ----> sold it after 8 month
i used the i-phone ----> returned it after 2 hours
after all this and u expect me not to like Nokia !!!

mez, 06 Aug 2009I got the N97 on the 10th of July and it broke on me on the... moreman you dont need a replacement, from what your saying it seems the flat cable needs to be changed and not the phone...

if apple put 600mhz on old 3g and named it 3gs..
why can't nokia put 600mhz + capacitive on N97 and name it N97i ??

Hi all, i just want to say that this forum is not about who is the market leader, who is getting more sales etc. This forum is about Nokia N97 users and ppl who are researching inorder to make a decision of buying it or not & this website plays an important role in helping making that decision.
what saddens me is when ppl make comments to misguide others based on thier preferences or ill experiences. Cell phones, may it be of any brand, will have some pros and cons. U need to research and understand ur needs in order to make ur decision. I have seen ppl here complaining about lack of IR in N97 or lens getting scrathed. the question is, is IR in fad these days? and how much pressure r u appying for opening the shutter of lens..probably more force is causing the lens to scratch??? my suggestion infact request is, dont misguide others, dont compare company's profits coz they are not just dependent on a single product..let this forum have healthy discussion about N97 only...
1- Determine ur requirements
2- compare them with whats available in the cell ph
3- dont just buy a cell phone coz its new or when u dont have a clue about its functions
4- try to utilize all functions
5- be happy with wats available, coz there is no end to demands
6- always remember, a cell phone is not a camera, nor a music player, its a blend...some features are extra ordinary and some are ok, that doesnt mean that the ph sucks..
7- If someone is that dumb that he/she cannot attach the ph thru usb and update the firmware, he/she doesnt have the right to own these high end ph..

features are out standing,but sorry to say it`s slow processor,sometimes hang,no features like encrypt//decrypt file,&&&&&&&&&&&& more.

All i have to say is im really annoyed at the people here going on about the Iphone. I have come on here purely to research the N97 and see what peoples feedback is on it and instead find myself skimming through hundreds of posts about the Apple Iphone... If you are so happy with your Iphone then go to a review page for it and tell people how great you think it is instead of posting your crap all over here!

I got the N97 on the 10th of July and it broke on me on the 31st of July, yes 21 days later!
I was very excited to egt this phone as I have been waiting for it for a long time. I love the looks, the features esp the keyboard and touch, and because its a nokia.
Unfortunately, everytime I flipped the screen to use the keyboard, the screen goes black and not usable anymore. I took it back to the dealer and they told me that maybe sometimes I flip it too hard (???) and the wiring becomes loose. I thought that was a stupid comment seeing flipping it up for the keyboard was one of the main features!
And I am still waiting for a replacement!
