lalo, 08 May 2009don't know about them adding kinetic scrolling in the entir... moreNever know about the kinetics in all of the OS but the brower i know lol but it did get alot better cause i have the old browser since i have an E70 and the browser sucks so i just use opera mini 4.2 which is faster and the D/Ling is much faster as welll

Yea, Nokia doesn't know how to properly use the symbian os with the useless hardware, that sucks for them. i'm glad that samsung is showing the true capabilities of s60 (5th ed). nokia needs to learn from others in terms of hardware usage, and os tweaking.

lalo, 08 May 2009ummm, i think you are getting confused. don't put symbian a... moreActually my point was that the S60 on the Samsung Omnia HD can be modified to work exactly the same as the N97, with the same transitions, kinetic scrolling etc, only it will be faster due to the faster, more efficient CPU.
Anything that is supposed to slow down the Omnia HD can be swiched off or modified UNLESS Nokia locks down Symbian, which they can't do as it's now open source.
Obviously they can't so any argument that the Omnia HD is slower because of the way S60 has been implemented is useless.

Mizuchi, 08 May 20091 month left man they can easily add kinetic scrolling apar... moredon't know about them adding kinetic scrolling in the entire ui. nokia is lazy in doing stuff. they haven't even polished their browser, which sucks imo, so who knows. i just know that this phone is disappointing, then again, it is supposed to be an internet device, and not a media device. i'll just wait until symbian foundation brings out symbian^3 so that phone manufacturers can make phones with that os.

but speed wise less garbage means it's gonna be faster more stuff means higheer CPU speed to run everything nokia is using wigets instead of apps for their N97 so it take so little space you don't have tou instal a widget cause it's a link to a modified internet page or an app

Mizuchi, 08 May 2009The newer prototype is much faster and it has kinetic scrolling actually, there's only kinetic scrolling in the browser, and no where else. if it did have kinetic scrolling, then the people wouldn't have to scroll using the scrollbar

remember the extra stuff samsung but on the all their touchscreen phones
touchWiz or touchFlow one of them and the 3D graphics need a stronger CPU to power the 3D trasitioning, support the HD and keep the camera intact
if you noticed the Omina HD doesnt have 32Gb like N97 does cause the CPU is more devoted to HD recording and the graphical transitons for the phone

after i get the NAM lo... moreHey the NAM is exactly the same HSDPA bands as the 3.5G iPhone 3G, same speed, better than the 5800, not as fast as the Omnia HD or LG Arena.
With the Samsung Omnia HD with S60 you'd be able to make exactly the same modifications as on the N97 only it will run much faster, or is Symbian becoming a closed system to protect the money Nokia want to make from OVI.
It will be interesting to see how Nokia goes about locking down their content, if developers can't make money out of it, OVI store will fail.
Maybe it will be like the Nokia music store where you can't use the songs as ringtones or share them by Bluetooth.

And the 5800 is too slow XD come on man did you see the amount of garbage cluttered on the Omnina HD the3D effects for the screen transitions Lag so bad man
the 5800 and N97 don't have any laggy screen transioning
if you look at the ipods new coverflow that lags and it's not even needed on an mp3 player it's just to look cool so adding useless stuff mean higher CPU speed

underpowered or overclocked it depends on the OS and i do like S60 alot never had a problem with it and i've heard good things about s60 t 5th
