sharon, 18 Feb 2010what the crap i m hearing....nokia n97 mini is having a lot... moredont buy this phone...buy E72 instead or other brand, but if your choices is only between the 2, choose E72. N97mini have a great formfactor though, it's a shame it has a weak internal stuff...shame!!!

iv had the phone for 3months now and i must say im enjoying it......its not everybody who has experience the same problems and so far in S.A nobody has complained but honestly ,nobody forced anybody to purchase the N97 so if u are not HAPPY with it then GET RID OF IT!

I agree with PVM.
Why cant they just make phone that one can switch betwwen the N & E options.
ALL N people have jobs too!
I just supposedly upgraded from E75 to N97, & other than the cam, all the rest is just a bit below average.

DO NOT BUY!
screen is cheap plastic and the light from inside leaks out from all lill' cracks. U need to have unlimited data to unleash full potential of this instrument. free navigation appreciated.

I bought a N97-mini about a month ago, and I'm VERY happy with my upgrade from my Samsung S8300.
And the new free OVImaps-navigation works just great.
Despite the heavy weight and the outdated 3/4 VGA resolution, this sure is the best phone I have had (yet).
YES, there are some firmware bugs, that makes it lock up, or spontaneously boot. Especially if you aren't patient enough, and let it finish what it is doing at it's own pace. (like old windows...)
(I got 10.0.020, 11.0.045 is not available for my code yet, so the stability issues MIGHT be fixed)
BUT The MOST annoying thing is a really stupid hardware design-bug, that can be easily handled with a workaround though.
The (ugly) protruding camera-block doesn't cover the full width of the phone, making it absolutely HOPELESS to operate on a table as a 'micro-pc', it woobles!!!
And that is a VERY obvious choice to try to do so for one hand operation of the QWERTY keyboard....
But a suitable (2.0mm thick) piece of self adhesive rubber placed roughly under "Q", "A" and "Z" fixes it!! (I recommends assuring it has slanted sided, so it won't give you troubles in&out of your pockets)
Look under your pc-speakers, routers et cetera, to see if you can find a suitable one you can 'steal' (replace with standard self adhesive felt pads for chairs).
Or buy something to cut from. E.g.:

For those who are comparing the n97 mini and e72...My suggestion is go for the e72.
I've had the n97 mini for two months now n its such a pain...keeps getg restarted or hanged...Functionality is irritating...QWERTY pad is not so comfy like i read from other users...
My bro has the e72 and I've used it on several occasions...Its great..the email..the cam..everything...Gonna get my set this week!
