Carol, 18 Oct 2021Your information is all over the place a quite a lot of mis... moreMy original point, if you haven't read, was that Motorola bounced back REAL hard, they were just like Nokia: in the 60hz lcd gang, but they stepped up their game BIG time, going to 144Hz Oleds! Now it's just Nokia's turn, and it looks like they aren't bulging. But what p*sses me off so hard is that they actually made Oled phones before! Like literally if you go into phone finder and select Nokia and Oled, you'll see they actually made those stuff 7 years ago! And like the display is pretty much the only area for Nokia to improve on, and then they could actually compete with other phones. And I want Nokia to improve, believe me!

Carol, 18 Oct 2021Your information is all over the place a quite a lot of mis... moreYes, this phone has a 1080p display, not 720p, but that doesn't change the fact that the display quality is lagging behind those of phones that are 3/4th of the price. Anyways, you like lots of software updates? Well check out the Motorola Edge 20 Fusion, it's about the same price as the Nokia X20, it's got the same stock android and 3 years of updates, better 90Hz Oled, Bigger Battery and faster charging, Better Dimensity 800U chipset, better camera system.

Carol, 18 Oct 2021Your information is all over the place a quite a lot of mis... moreBut I agree, Xiaomi phones do not have that great software. By the way, I'm talking about raw cpu horsepower. If you compare cpus on nanoreview.net, you'll see the SD 732g is substantially more powerfull than 480, software will be able to counter that.

Carol, 18 Oct 2021Your information is all over the place a quite a lot of mis... moreMaybe there's some pricing differences in other countries, but in Australia if you go to eBay, you'll actually find the Oneplus 7T for on average 200 AUD! and converting that to USD is 150! Remember, this phone is 2 years old. Check the link:
        https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_trksid=p2334524.m570.l1313&_nkw=oneplus+7t&_sacat=0&LH_TitleDesc=0&_odkw=oneplus+7t&_osacat=0
        A52 5G is 400 AUD dollars (300 USD)
        https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_trksid=p2334524.m570.l1313&_nkw=samsung+galaxy+a52+5g&_sacat=0&LH_TitleDesc=0&_odkw=oneplus+7t&_osacat=0
You say none of the phones have clean software, actually since Oneplus 7T is reaching its age, it will keep the clean oxygen os software that I would actually argue is better than stock android as you get more customisation features. And you won't get the controversial 'merging with color os feature' that new onepluses get.
And actually Samsung phones do have 3 years of software updates and 4 years of security updates. It's a shame I have to search these articles up for you:
        https://www.androidauthority.com/samsung-android-updates-1148888/
        https://www.theverge.com/2021/2/22/22295639/samsung-galaxy-device-2019-four-years-security-updates
Anyways, having lots of updates is no good if you don't have a great phone to start with. You want a phone that's a great whole package eh? well guess what you could just get my phone, the pixel 3a (that's right), like it's literally 100 USD (a lot cheaper than nokia) and it hilariously has lighter build, OIS, Oled, not large (what you like), stereo speakers, and same fast charging.

RandyRiffin, 17 Oct 2021The performance is pretty good on Nokia phones, that is not... moreYour information is all over the place a quite a lot of missinformation too. This device has a 1080p screen and where did you get your prices? At fairtale.com? Onplus 7t is arrount 600€, xiaomi does not actually have better performance, not with that CPU and the crappy os implementation, samsung will be the only one with competition here, but that one is also more expensive selling arround 400€. As for all of them, none have clean android (no money making out of selling user data), none has 3 years waranty, none has 3 years OS support and 4 years of security updates. So yeah, for you a device is a CPU and a screen, for others a device is the whole package. The only thing i could complain about this Nokia is the fact that is huge, but then again, this days i can't find a norlam sized device anymore...

Snappie24, 15 Oct 2021Regarding your comment: specs on paper is not everything. ... moreNokia 8.0 and Nokia X20 are totally 2 different category, can't say the same for both.
Nokia must know that they are not the only one in the market, there are Oneplus, Motorola, ASUS, even Google,to cater for this market.

Snappie24, 15 Oct 2021Regarding your comment: specs on paper is not everything. ... moreThe performance is pretty good on Nokia phones, that is not my concern, it's just that LCD panels have, let's say, not that great viewing angles, and most don't get that deep colours that's all. The resolution is 720p mate over a large 6.67 inch screen, sometimes text doesn't look that sharp, and you can't really watch youtube videos at 1080p. The charging is ok at 18W, but sometimes it isn't fast enough as I have seen with my Pixel 3a. Also, the main camera might me good, but the ultrawide is only 5MP, so don't expect much from it.

All this might not be that big of a deal, but if you compare the Nokia X20 for example, to other phones. I hopped over to eBay, and actually the A52 5G and Redmi Note 10 Pro can all be found at around 222 USD, much lower than the X20's 350 price. Oneplus 7T can be found even lower at 150! All of these phones just have better specs (including high refresh rate OLED displays, way faster charging, even faster chipsets, more capable camera systems especially the ultrawide and actually comparable batteries!

why would you buy this?! this is borderline extortionary at this price: other companies offer better at 2/3 the price.

RandyRiffin, 05 Oct 2021This comment is regarding most of Nokia phones. The past 50... moreRegarding your comment: specs on paper is not everything.
I had had a Nokia 8.0 now for 4 years and for me the best phone overall.
Yes, the camera was a little flop with blue balancing, but I got used to it.
The performance is consistently the same as from day 1. The stock Android is 1000 easier to use than Samsung and my work iphone, which is horrible to use.

My phone has 60+ apps and I can do everything on it, sometimes many at the same time. I converted many videos for instance.

The LCD panel works, there is nothing wrong with the resolution and the touch interface works perfectly.

The keyboard layout is perfect, and it works in my language, Afrikaans too. Samsung and the others don't.

It is so easy to live with. My next one is the X20. I know Nokia went back to their roots of consistent, reliable, easy to use basis.
It does the job well. It will last. No gimmics, but no bloatware too. Scandinavian, like to Volvo.

                        You miss this.

Buy almost any Snapdragon xiaomi phone that sold there, unlock the bootloader, sideload any good custom rom or better, lineageos, and you're good to go. Main caveat is just you have to live with unlocked bootloader phone. And why the would you want to buy this? Overpriced and many offer better with lower price.

This comment is regarding most of Nokia phones. The past 50 phones Nokia has made, they all have crappy 60 Hz LCD Panels, this is why I am refraining from buying them. Actually digging deeper into phone finder, I can see Nokia has actually made phones with OLED panels! These are all from like 7 years ago, but Nokia once used OLED in the phones! Then why Nokia, what on earth are all these overpriced rubbish you are releasing nowadays? Even Motorola bounced back with high refresh rate and Oled panels. You just have to add better displays and you got a great midranger at hand.

Depending on usage, avarage usage will get you a day and a half to two days, less usage could get you even more battery. Screen-On time (without stopping) will get you between 10 and 14 hours, it depends a lot of where you use it. In a darker enviroment you'll get more battery life. It does not lag, sometimes might seem slower then let's say a flagship, but well, it is not a flagship, so it is understandable that it is not as fast as one.
