I see little benefit from os updates or changes made

I actually regret updates I did get and wish I could rollback OS updates as they hog full 10gb storage on my budget phones and created compatibility issues with apps

Just future software never mixes well with older hardware never a good user experience

Just don't break want's not broken

Google also actively making android worse with ever new android version
So I don't have anything to look forward too either

By that time, x30 owners will be updating to a version that has been superceded. I'd personally accept something like four months of wait, that's understandable. Five even if there are implementation problems. In the end, Nokia had clean Android, so it should be easier than other brands that user their own forks.

Half year late & still no update for x30 or g60
          Shamful for nokia

They promised regular update but make us wait over half year to get, this not reliable or trust type behavior

Imbukwa, 18 Feb 2023Have a look at this comments of the X30. That will make you... morePixel phones cost 150 dollars to make .. but they sell it at 500vdollars . Everyone is fazed by the fact that 1. Its made by google and gets the update first . But thats not a feature ... thats discrimination at its best .. whatever new thing they add to a new os version they exclusively do it on their pixel before giving it to anyone else . So naturally they update faster . ( yes they release developer beta versions but google cooks them in oven a lot brfore beta version released for public and guess the device they test it on ..)

Pixels have terrible hardware .. they are using same sony sensor since pixel 2 .. i bet most of you didnt even know that . Its just a software gimmicks to make phouos better than previous version of pixel so they can push sells of their mediocre repetitive handsets that no one gives a crap about . Hmd is equally crap . Their vision definitely doesnt level with old nokia philosophy . I think the only feature they can adopt and endure is the durability . Xr20 was the only true nokia after nokia 9 pureview . These two actually bought something unique to table .

Pureview had its flaws but then every beauty has its flaws . And thats how we progress .. by trying to push limits

An that is like 6 Months ago, if you think that's too long, well.... sorry but, you also don't know to much about developement nor technology. So yeah pixel would be the only device for you if you want the fastest updates.

Android 13 was released in August 2022 and the X30 still runs version 12? Well I guess that answers my question. Going for the Pixel

Hoova , 18 Feb 2023Thank you for the comprehensive answer I really appreciate ... moreStill on Android 12, it has the february security patch. If you want the fastest updates possible, then there's only pixel 6a left. With nokia you will get the updates, but not that fast.

Anonymous, 17 Feb 2023Released 2019 specifications in 2023 with doubled price ? ... moreHMD doesn't have the recourses that Chinese competitors have and therefore they need to make a very good phone like the X30 and sell it with a healthy profitable margin because unlike the Chinese BBK group of Xiaomi with a truckload of dollars they cannot afford to sell phones at a lost to gain customers. For example Google have sold Pixels for years at a lost, just to gain marketshare but Google has a ton of cash to do so.

Besides that, pixel 6A CPU is known for overheating, causing pefomance drops. Nothing to woryy if you're not gaming.
X30 has 90hz refresh rate screen and charges faster at 33w, i do not care to much about these, but some do.
You can find pixel 6a only with 6gbram 128 gb storage
Camera might be better on Ai side, but x30 is not bad at all, and they work on updates to make it better.
hmd offer 3 years warranty for the x30.
X30 is made out of recycled materials, i find this to be a huge plus, all manufactures should be doing it, a long time ago already.

Besides this, there is no other reason not to buy pixel 6a. Both are stuck android, while pixel has some hidden functions under it's sleve.
Both are't huge slabs and both are made by respectfull brands.
Bugs and all, both have at the moment, pixel 6a had a huge problem with the finger print sensor (everybody could log in into your device with their finger) i presume tough that till date, it was fixed. On x30 a small amount of people report fuzzy sound quality, i do not know what's that all about, i do not have the problem, well at least not hearing it.

May I ask for your opinion, why would I buy this and not the Pixel 6a? The have the same price and build quality appears high on both. The Pixel will have better updates support and stronger processor. Quite possibly also better camera performance. Any reason I should go for the Nokia instead?
