Carol, 14 Nov 2022I lierally told you that all nokia devices in my home were ... moreAm more frustrated then anything
3 years isn't a very long life time

i would expect at least 8 years out of a flagship honestly i look at smartphones on the long-term how well they last in the long run

I got my Yotaphone 2 for 200 pound each and it was a full flagship at bargain price
i know but Yotaphone made too many of them

There was not many customers for them weirdly so too many phones where made but only a few people willing too buy them

I can't say any smartphone ages well even my Yotaphone 2 is sluggish now

    that's a lot of work
i really hopes it makes a difference for my mum
but it's over overdue for replacement already

The Nokia g10 was supposed too show how good Nokia brand is
and how smoothly they run but it proved the opposite and just how bad the Nokia brand is

Am really sad as it was my top recommendation for budget phone
android 12 system requirements 6gb ram rip Nokia g10 just so sluggish and always crashes

To tall you the truth, it feals like you do not listen to what peole tell you and are here only to troll, with long messages that say the same over and over, it feals like you want to cover up the good reviews with the same complains about what you thin is right and what not. After 20 years of flagship devices, i now use x30 and am quite ok with it.

Little mistake I mentioned OnePlus 6 & 6t but they probably be a step up from the g60 or xr20
The Nokia x30 might be more even
The OnePlus 5 or 5t are more comparable more fair compassion

When I said the latest Nokia smartphones feel dated
OnePlus 5 & 5t come too mind from as far back as 2017 with 8gb ram & overclocked Snapdragon 835

Even they might have of upper hand in performance over the latest Nokia smartphones with only 6gb ram or 8gb ram max spec version on the Nokia phones

be careful to read your own countries' Nokia website.....
[3-year warranty] did not apply to all country.
for example, Malaysia only got 1 year warranty,
so I might not consider to buy with a bit higher price without 3 year warranty benefits.

Vivo V25 will be my better consideration, cheaper & with 42000 times drop test :P
          IP54 I think not bad

I don't buy into Nokia marketing of longevity of there smartphones

            The Nokia xr20 x30 & g30
Nokia claims device like there's have long life
Firstly there batterys are not even user removable

Nokia is very naive and don't understand how system requirements for software works and how technology ages Snapdragon 400 & 600 series hardly future proof
Neither is 4gb 6gb or 8gb ram seriously this is supposed too age well

Minimum system requirements for Android 12
6gb ram amount 3 new Android versions coming

Smartphones that I know Feel in the hands like a rather
outdated old smartphone that is not modern at all

The very moderate hardware is the performance and smoothness of a smartphone straight out of 2017

Yeah OnePlus 6 or 6t would feel about as modern as Nokia latest smartphones

Am really disappointed in Nokia as a Nokia 9.3 been so much better or a flagship killer or gaming smartphone not making a 600 pound plus smartphone shouldn't mean no good hardware

            even extended production of legacy's devices the Nokia 8 & 9 flagships as well as Nokia 3 & 3.1 & 5 & 5.1
still of been better than this

Also it becomes cheaper overtime too keep making the same smartphones overtime

So even if Nokia just even done this they of been better today

Am guessing Nokia not going too support legacy devices all that much or make more of them

At least the Nokia smartphones go on sale like 50% off or something sooner or later
that makes up for it I guess

Not a fan of Google pixel line of smartphones either as they sneakly downgrade Snapdragon 800 series too Google tensor and call it own built in house but it is just a renamed Samsung exynos processor

i just want too be clear where i stand

I know i seem very negative on the Nokia brand
the Nokia of 2019 & Nokia of 2022 are very different

So too has the standards a smartphone has meet in 2019 are a lot higher then 2022

The Nokia 8 & 9 was easily some of the best flagships on the market and not as pricey on top htc & google Samsung was a lot better back then only the gaming smartphone where ahead by a big margin like Nubia best hardware and at lowest price on top
Android OS upgrades made big improvements too features
stock android on Nokia phones was clean of any bloatware at all
android was improving with each now version and not as big system resources hog

Nokia was good at that time for flagships they focus on was more improvement back then

                in late 2022
android going downhill so fast with problems
android is now system resources hog of your worsted nightmares
android updates are horrible & google making android worse
app developers don't optimize anything anymore or care at all

The landscape has changed so much
Nokia did adopt and change too

Nokia doubled down on the budget market for Affordable Smartphones
hit really good price points & added removable battery's that is good
some ultra budget smartphones really well priced for there hardware spec

Nokia & Alcatel do the same role the market now
They are cheap & chearful phone makers
                good for ultra budget smartphones

There a great choose on very tight budgets like 50 pound or less
but that's all there good for

Nokia does still have the rather old and dated flagships like Nokia 8 & 9 Pureview
but even they are budget/mid range smartphones by today's standards
they hold there value way too well also for late buyers for it too be worth buying also

People always upgrade for better performance at the lowest possible price point
as moose law is means hardware gets more powerful ever year

sadly hardware is not getting much cheaper and we are just been adding higher end tiers for pricing and hardware

Then there is software is getting heaver more ram hungry and system resources hog
ever mainstream brand is going downhill just getting worse for us the customers

Am so impressed by the old Nubia red magic phones
as it was so far ahead of there time having 8gb ram or 12gb ram snapdragon 800 series overclocked processors with cooling system and half the price of a flagship phones
then even the software features and software is so stable and feature rich without the fear of updates breaking stuff

x2 the hardware specs of a flagship at lower price then a flagship
the nubia gaming smartphones are miles ahead

There's barely any apps on it
It's so sluggish and freezing and Sutter

My mum having a lot frustration with it candy crush loading times 5 minutes that was tested and optimized for a Android version this new

Am sure this game was made with Android 6 or 7 or something the Nubia red magic gaming smartphone on Android 9 runs this game butter smooth

Lol I can't believe a gaming smartphone is needed for this

                  Nokia g10
No matter how many times we set screen time out too 5 minutes it sets it back to 15secs
The bugs just problems with Android 12 just so bad

We was at least able change back too bottom control that made the phone better too use

My mum is Inpatient and never close background multi tasks and just trying do everything quickly
And always has ever possible app open and many browser tap's and trys run answer calls

The Nokia g10 was supposed to be better than the old budget Samsung j3 from 2016 on Android 5

But damn better hardware runs more sluggish on Android 12 plus the OS growing pains in day to day usage

The Nokia g10 loses too a Samsung this old aww this a bad look for Nokia

I tried too originally buy the Nokia 3.1 3gb ram & 32gb storage for 135 pound

I refused got refund I was upset by this

Tryed buy the generic soyes k-touch i9 mini smartphone

Tried sell me a different phone again I didn't want

                    Again had too get refund

new old stock with worse version with only 16gb storage

Carol, 13 Nov 2022Funny way of thinking, so Razer thought the hardware was a ... morehardware, if that would be the case, android devices should need 16GB RAM and 12 CPU cores

Yes sadly so Android really is becoming a hug of system resources this bad it not there yet but it's on its way so we have too future proof the hardware
Much more a nemesis of budget smartphones and old flagships

This why the Nubia red magic phones are loved so much by us they are lighting fast the Lenovo legion line of smartphones & tablets good also

They just nailed what makes a good super flagship
Old Android version is not a big deal as far back as Android 6 is good

Most Android emulator run Android 7 and have full functionality & app compatibility so being up-to-date honestly is overrated

But lag or be sluggish is just horrible too use in day to day usage deal breaker on the spot

I know the smartphones like Nokia 8 & 9 are really good
The Nokia 9 pureview set the standard for multi cameras today

Am sure they easily run smoothly enough & have nice screens

In 2022 although I guess the strong competition from Nubia with lighting fast smartphones and good screens

does make Nokia very unsatisfied and unattractive
With mid range processor and butchered hole punch screens

Sin, 13 Nov 2022Yeah The Nokia 9 pureview should be I didn't say it&#... moreIf you updated to android 12 but did not do a formatting, please do format the device and let it sit after enetring your account and so on, for about an hour or so, do not install anything else. Do not recover from backups. it should be better after that. Do not allow apps that you install to run in the background, restrict them if they are not needed to constantly run. Android 12 has a powerfull, but be carefull, battery management system that kills a lot of background tasks, be carefull not to have that on. Called App Background manager, and is found in battery settings. Also in battery settings, in the battery saver menu, there are some custome actions that happen when device enters power saving mode when 20% battery left. Deactivate all of them because they do not run as they should. They will change screen brightness to manually, but sometimes fail to turn it back on to auto when Battery saving mode is deactivated. They also change screen on time to minimum of 15 seconds, and do not set it back to 1 minute or whatever was set before entering saving mode. Also deactivate allow bubbes in notification settings, it is known to cause problems, with keyboard especially. Deactivate notifications for apps that you do not need to receive notifications from. If you do not need it, deactivate google assistent, a hogger, after that install a light launcher because search won't work anymore at the desktop, and you won't be able to disable that ugly searchbar, the "perks" of hmd's android version. I'd recommand niagara launcher. What you can also do is to activate developer mode and very carefully not to activate something you should not activate, search for animations scale, there are 3. And set them all to .5x, your device will seem way faster then before. Window animation scale, transaction animation scale and animator duration scale. If you set it too low, will cause you're UI to be a bit unfriendly when we talk user experience. As i've said, android 12 has some annoying bugs that i can't pin point if it's hmd to blame or Google, but one can work around some of them, if that person knows what is doing. Of course not all problems are to be solved by workarounds, bug fixes from the manufacturer are also needed.

Even a flagship hardware would have hard times with that low storage, android and apps have no place to expend cache causing crashes and memory full warnings at daily basis. Maybe Nokias not that much, because of lighter OS implementations, but any other manufacturer, for sure.

Sin, 12 Nov 2022Yeah Manufacturers not updating a too newer versions of An... moreFunny way of thinking, so Razer thought the hardware was a patato for android 10, but they did not think that when they made and sold the device not long before the 10 came out? And you find that genuine? You keep going same, same that android is heavier with every version and causes havoc left and right, even tough i tell you facts? That's also kind of strange. X30's CPU has lesser power then SD845 and runs android 12 with no problem with 6GB RAM, why would Nokia 9 not be able to run smooth, what is your theory? Because android 12 is heavier? But i just said that x30 is weaker and runs it quite smooth... I mean, would be nice to have a discution with someone that does not ignore the facts only to highlight his false interpretetion and lack of understanding of hardware and software and how they coexist with one another. Sorry if i come accros a bit harsh on you, but the "Minu" guy/girl also tried to higlight the facts, but you still keep on going with the same thing.
Why your device got more slagish then, i do not know how many years back, could be a Battery problem or a desperate need to format the device and to not install hoggy apps. Weak Battery can be a reason as of why a phone slowes down, battery plus 100 installed apps that boot with the system and hog the RAM are actually a big culpit as of why low level androids seem to age faster then Flagships. Flagships manage to sustain a greater speed even with a patato battery because of faster cpu and other hardware components, that would not be the case with low end to very low end smartphones if the battey goes patato mode and does not deliver enough current to keep hardware at it's needs, and with that, as stable as possible. But there can be cause of lot of other more reasons, but talking about them in such plain style, would not do them justice. Software can definetly be one of them, but not in the way you're thinking. Yeah a 20 years old device will never run android smoothly, stating the obvious, but a 5 years old device should not have any problems with it. So, what i am saying here is that android does not age that fast and the core is not worked on to make those heavy changes so that every new version of android needs bigger, better, faster....hardware, if that would be the case, android devices should need 16GB RAM and 12 CPU cores by now. And this would be true for low end devices, flagships would need a lot more. Maybe you're confusing intentional slowdowns, samsung-apple, caugh caugh, with reallity, but nope, android is a hog but not that much of a hogger as you seem to think.

Modern apps & browsers are only targeted at the most powerful smartphones on the market unfortunately

OS UI & features all on Android 12 are also buggy we think android 12 is worsed ever released android version that shouldn't of left beta testing

It's a refurbished model with replacement screen & battery and the hardware could be really weared out from usage for all we know

but android is even heavyer still now and Android is already heavy and unoptimised so custom version of Android have big drawbacks of lag and sluggishness

but even stock android flawed and faultly and eats system resources and Google not fixed there's problems and is focused on stuff like voice assistant and not ever fixing the issue with optimisation

A lot of different OS did exist with great protential too become really good if only they got the app support and hardware production in the mainstream

Unfortunately iOS really is a lemon and is aimed at a different market too android completely
and is limited too many restrictions apple puts in place and iPhone premium pricing on what is just a over gloryfied social media device and camera phone with many restrictions

With there's kinda problems with iOS is no threat too android at all no competition or pressure

As Android is a very stand alone OS on mobile and Google not making any improvements or need too lack of reasonable alternatives

                                Yeah we are doomed

Carol, 12 Nov 2022I do not agree on that, nokia 9 has 6GB RAM and is smooth a... moreYeah
Nokia 9 pureview is smooth as you don't fill the smartphone with too many apps

The Nokia 9 pureview does also have the advantage of running Android 10 that is a lighter
then a android 12 in terms of performance

The problem lays when you need a lot of apps installed as not everyone just runs a smartphone with bare minimum amount of apps

Some people do need a lot of different apps installed

This a uniquely android problem with ram management system as this problem is at it's worsed on Android as apps can't sit in cold storage

Yeah bigger storage definitely helps and leaving a little bit of storage free for swop space
                                  64gb or 128gb a good minimum target

As most people are not tech savvy and can't manage ram usage or want too considently trying optimise stuff too make there phone run a little bit smoother
well they can't make the most of it the ram amount they have

With android 12 os minimum at 6gb ram again 8gb ram just solid advice for buying new smartphones today

It's hard too tell people they have storage but can't use it for apps people do expect they storage too be available for usage for android apps

Carol, 12 Nov 2022True, i have owned flagships since i use smartphones, almos... moreYeah the Nokia 3.1 I like it's sluggish but given it only cost me 50 pound it's very forgiveable at this price point

A big problems I have is am income and budget restrained so as much as I like too just buy a flagship I can't I just don't have the money

So Nokia 3.1 it is that has too multi task run heavy games like mobile legends & polywar and do other kinds of heavy lifting it's really not cut out for

The browser also could be a lot smoothly if only the specs where better

The 2gb ram / 16 storage a real struggle I also like using dual screen mode and screen overlays more tasks that are more domanding then just simple browsing

It's aging really fast considering the work-load but it's barely holding on its going too need too last till next year till I can buy a more powerful smartphone takes over the heavy tasks

Carol, 12 Nov 2022Hmm, i do not find google to be blamed to much about androi... moreYeah
Manufacturers not updating a too newer versions of Android is a problem

The excuse razer made is not water tight given the specs it has

I do take razer word as genuine as razer as been consident with there opinions even though razer thinks Snapdragon 845 8gb ram is a
                                      potato phone

A lot of there customers did end up installing custom android ROMs on the razer phone too get around this problem

It's sad razer not in the phone business anymore
Android 9 definitely is not the end of the would either

For reference most android emulators run Android 7 OS like Andy OS for example no problems at all with app compatibility

Yeah Chinese brands still have android 4 installed on smartphones and tablets this is bad for every one other then perhaps people who want legacy apps working for some reason or another

on the other side old hardware and new software just don't mix well updates have always lead too slow down of smartphones

Some devices can never be updated
                                      Like my yotaphone 2

Another company that want down the drain this one really hurt as I was a huge fan of there smartphones

The yotaphone 2 had dual screens and want from Android 4 updated too android 6

It's so good it got them updates as android version updates from 4 too 6 is a full would of difference between them in terms of app compatibility

As the company is rip sadly
Yotaphone 2 gets no longer software support
It's still the best smartphone I own today as it find the best solution too performance & battery life but being 32bit is a problem

Even if I could update the yotaphone 2 more I probably wouldn't as even so it's got 2gb ram & Snapdragon 800

technology it's more powerful than my Nokia 3.1 the compatibility difficulties with the back screen make it a no go
Plus it's really sluggish and overheats easily and the hardware really weared out from year's of usage and a battery charge on top

There is also no custom ROM out there
                                      for yotaphone 2 either

So I do wish Google would keep supporting old android versions as not all devices can be updated

The OS was so good optimized i could play Asphalt on my Nokia N8 connected via mini hdmi cable to a 720p TV without to manny lags, and with 512MB RAM. While Multitasking 15 Apps that were actually working in Background and not put to sleep like in Android or IOS. There is no match with the performance devices this day deliver, but to what cost do they deliver that performance?
