MakeNokiaGreatAgain, 19 Sep 2023Hey, Carol! Any news on the successor of Nokia X30 and G60?... moreHey, nope, no idea. I suspect their won't be any this year but i might be wrong. As far as i understood from what's going on behing the scenes, they might again transaction to a new OEM partner, at least for a part of their devices. If that's true, they might release some midrages made in Europe with repairability in mind next year or maybe even somewhere in November. Even so, they will for sure not enter Flagship market, as that one is very tight and nobody besides apple survives out of it. Well this are only my two cents about the whole thingy in hmd. Nokia, the company is playing an intresting game at this point too, they changed their logo and kind of denied their involvement with the companies using NOKIA name at the moment with their subliminal statement's, also kind of showed some interesting interfaces what appears to be some GUI Elementsm. So they might not license the name to anyone and close the gate to consumer markets forever, or they might intend to release devices for themselves. What is clear, it is highly possible that hmd won't license the NOKIA brand, if they want to or not, after 2027, especially now, when taking into consideration that they want to release devices underm the "hmd" brand. They have some confidance there, so let's see. I still want to buy one for my brother, so i hope for something like Fairphone😅. Well if they are still on the market till 2027, with all the hate propaganda spreading...

Carol, 15 Sep 2023Yeah, well, i also blame the AI and the "fear of shado... moreI am of the same opinion, which I why I mostly shoot RAW and edit my images in post, and is the reason I highly regard the 9 PureView because the DNG files produced are excellent to work with. The X30 RAW files require more work to get the best from.
I still use a Fujifilm X-Pro1 as my main camera, despite all the technical developments and enhancements since it was released 10 years ago, because the sensor has a very distinct quality and character which is missing with the advent of computational photography and quad-bayer sensors.
I see a lot of reviews and images produced by the latest smartphone cameras and I am usually unimpressed, but that is also because recent smartphone cameras have wide equivalent focal lengths of ~23mm which is not great in most situations.
HMD really need to remember that optical zoom exists, even 2x zoom on most of their devices looks terrible so the only option is to shoot RAW and crop.

Xenotyro, 14 Sep 2023It is not just HDR but also exposure where the X30 seems to... moreYeah, well, i also blame the AI and the "fear of shadows" as mrnokia called it. Sometimes also adjusting the shadows in a good editing software is enough to make the pic look a bit more natural, but yes i also find it sad that it seems that nobody pay attention to this issue, and that i have to lower the exposure by 3 levels almost 90% of the time while taking pictures of landscapes (i find indoor and close objects pics to be really good) in comparison to nokia 9 and anything before that, one can see the insertion of AI quite clearly, i hate AI and find it sad that the evolution of phone cameras took this path... What 808 pureview did, should have been impoved, that beats the AI any day...

I really like the X30 in most aspects, I just know the camera could be more capable with given the hardware.

The only problem is, wehn i do not do that, the is a greater chance that the pic, is out of focus... they really need to nail the software down, or they are to unprepared for samsung cameras....

Even if you want infinite focus for a landscape, for example, if you do not tap to focus then the exposure is far too bright. The XR21 is much better in my opinion.

Anything over 18watt will due.
