The selling point about this phone was the hype surrounding the Glyph lights on the back which in practice serve no useful purpose at all. You will only see them working if the phone is lying face down on a flat surface. If the phone is in your pocket, or if you are holding it, or if your phone is face up on the table then you won't see them so it is just a sales gimmick.
The screen on this phone is also a bit dire. It is capable of reaching 1200 nits brightness but Nothing capped it at 700 nits solely to make the battery look good in reviews but the result is that it looks a light grey instead of white. The screen also has huge bezels which reduces the screen size considerably.
The camera is average but certainly no better than one found on phones with an equal price tag.
The phone received one update to Android 13 and a security level dated June 2023 but it is largely forgotten now that Nothing have released the NP2 model.

If Carl Pei wants to compare Nothing phone with iPhone then they should have plans to provide more number of years of software support as similar to iOS. Else why we need to buy at premium price.

Strange that Nothing are issuing update after update for the second version of their phone yet this version is being totally ignored. If this is how they continue then they can expect to lose a lot of loyal customers.

Camera is worst,flickers in indoor lighting
Over heating issue, battery drains faster, usb port automatically disabled due to this.
Do not buy this phone. All positive reviews are brand sponsored.
Shitty phone.

I would enjoy mu NP1 phone more if I could 1) Get rid of the dot matrix clock on the Lock screen or 2) Change that horrid dot matrix font for something better looking but you can't do either.

Always tries to give flagship chipset in an overpriced device that is clearly NOT a flagship. No idea why that man just can't stick to making good quality mid-range handsets for low price. It's what he's good at. How can he not see it??

Just take it:) i bought samsung galaxy a54 and i am coming from oneplus9pro.
Yes sound on samsung is bit better, and call quality is a bit better on samsung too, but aside from midrange audio experience, u get better sharper display, with much higher PWM that doesnt cause eystrain( i literaly could not use samsung cause of low PWM), two very usable rear cameras, against one usable images oversharpening camera on samsung, faster charging, and super fluid usage software experience like oneplus and clean android experience and nice design.
Xiaomis redmi poco hardware is better, but cameras and software is not on par with nothing phone.
So as long nothing phone costs the same as samsung 54 xiaomi 13 lite, poco x5, oneplus nord 2 t and others from price bracket, take nothing phone
