that N is a notification. Go into multimedia messages and option 5 should be notifications...
It should use the mobile number, i don't know but i have multiple numbers for people and never had any problems.
Yes it is OK for the memory card to be in there permanently...
The card should work in a printing machine as long as it fits, with or without an adapter, as long as the printing machine supports folders as pictures are stored in a folder called pictures...

Finally go my phone delivered yesterday and my first immpression is that i LOVE it. Hopefully (touch wood) i wont have any problems.
I was wondering if someone could just help me out on a few things (please forgive me if it has been asked before)
I have an icon on my screen next to the signal sign, its box with a blue letter N in it. Cant find out what this means from the handbook.
When texting and selecting a name from my contacts, does it automatically take the mobile of the person that i have selected. Because some people i have more then 1 number (home and work etc).
Is it ok for the memory card to be in the phone permently?
Can i take the memory card stright to one of those photo printing machines??

nick, why do you feel the need to argue every time somebody's opinion doesnt match yours? im sorry but i dont agree with a lot of the comments you have made on this site, it is for people to review the x3 according to them- if somebody doesnt like an aspect of the phone, what gives you the right to take the piss/tell them they are wrong simply because you dont agree? somebody wanting to buy this phone needs unbiased reviews from all sides, and every time somebody points out a bad aspect of this phone, you immediately jump down their throats and even become abusive towards them. respect other peoples opinions as they do yours, and ignore the people who continually use 'txt speak'- so what??!!. i presume you will now continue to attack me by quoting something i have misspelled or my earlier post which i amended to a fuller review. i also stand by my opinions and will not be bullied by you just because i dont think this phone is the greatest in the world-people need to know that some aspects are dodgy and not everything is included in the package, particularly regarding the mp3 and lack of sending through infra red. i hope you have immense fun when you quote this and rip it apart-as long as you are happy.

this phone is gr8.the camera isnt very good at first. ive had this phone since it first came out.i recently took it in for repair because it would not let me sen mms txts, to my amazement hen i got my phone back it had whole new software on it.the camera does not blur or trail when set to indoor and it is much clearer.another thing i noticed that has changed is that when i 1st had my mobile it could only record (voice) for 15 seconds, now i can record for as much memory that my card can hold.i bought a 512mb mini sd card with adapter on ebay for £43 i can take 28508 photos with 32 mp3's and 5 3to4 min video's. with 388mb left.this phone is gr8.try sending it back to get the new updated software you wont be dissapointed im not.

hi i have a problem with my fone. my brother tried to send me a ringtone usind infa-red. wen he was sending it my fone automatically switched off! and it wont turn back on now!!!
if i put it on charge then the screen comes up with the battery on it but i just cant turn it on
EXTREMLEY FRUSTRATING!!!!:(:(:(

Infrared DOES work! It just recieves!
Mp3 is not a rip off... can you imagine sending a 5 meg mp3 file down a cable / over the infrared at a max of 115000kbps?? It would take y e a r s!!!
and NO! I don't know how to unlock it!

Step 1: get a SDcard reader and miniSD adapter for your PC
Step 2: put mp3 files into music folder on miniSD card
Step 3: put card back in phone
Simple as that...

Heya i got my phone around a month ago and i have no problem putting on mp3s but whenever i put on a video to my phone it doesnt actually apear on it... can sum1 plse help me by telling me how to put videos on it?

i think i should write a better review with better grammar! well, ive had it 2 days now, and i fell in love with it-i am averaging a phone a month (oh dear) and this is the first flipphone ive had, i never really liked them before, mostly because a lot of the ones on the market are bricks, but at first glance this ones TINY-and looks wise its probably the nicest phone on the market. i am disappointed, however that the mp3 player needs a seperate card reader to work, as all the mp3 phones i have had in the past just simply work vis infrared, which leads me on to another point-i know i cant send via ir (another thing which i am annoyed about because i print my pics that way) but i cant recieve either-please could somebody explain how to do this-with my k500i i just enabled the ir then sent from my computer, however this doesnt work on the x3. the screen clarity is brilliant, but the camera is very shaky and whitesout a lot. i also need to unlock this but nobody has any info so ill love you foverver if you could help!!. all in all a gorgeous phone with great features but a cack overpriced network on payg, and the ir and mp3 thing should be explained before you buy. BY THE WAY, YOU CAN NOW GET (WELL LAST WEEK YOU COULD) THIS PHONE PAYG IN ARGOS (EX CATALOGUE) FOR £99 WHICH IS WHAT I PAID-bargain!!!!!

i think what some people need to remember is that if you were shopping around for a phone with the same features and specification as the x3, wanting to spend the same amount of money you would be sadly dissapointed cus you wouldnt fine one. the phone matches most of the features that would be found in much more expensive phones and is not really far off being as good (considering the price)
i on the other hand am not really to bothered because i got mine for just £10.00 bargain best tenner iv ever spent really.

For the anonymous previous poster, did you read the posting rules?

For MP3 files you need a SD card reader with an mini-card adaptor that comes with most/all mini cards. £50 gets you a 512mb minicard with adaptor and a SD/universal card reader.

I cant seem to put Mp3files on my phone
Im not too much of a computer/phone wiz!
I put the cables in, and it is fully connected with my PC. I have the music file.
Where do i go from there?

"i've had my x3 for about a week now and first impressions were not good. i was very close, on day 2, to sending it back. the menus were confusing, camera poor quality, ringtones rubbish. i can't tell you how glad i am to have stuck with it. a little bit of time split between the manual and practice has opened up an amazing phone. mp3 player is my favourite feature along with miniSD. i love the phone now, and realise that in the right hands it can outperform any phone @ this price. to all the people slagging it off 'a poor workman always blames his tools' nuff said "

Think the moral of the story is don’t throw your phone around! And with a full qwerty keyboard in front of you, don’t write in ‘txt spk’ if you want to be easily understood and read by everyone. As a side, related note, a friend of mine brokers online sponsorships and receives many online applications in txt gibberish each year from eager hopefuls. Without exception each and every goes in the trash, without needing to consider any other factors.
It's still a good phone. If you get a faulty one get it replaced/repaired. If you suspect a faulty batch change dealer or handset.
